We booked a few hours at Mit Pfeil & Bogen for a work event, and had a great time. Would highly recommend it, and hope to come back again for some bow practice.
The first thing you'll notice when you arrive is that you're standing in front of an office building. It's not an open range, it's actually inside the building, and you'll walk up to the second floor to reach the facility. A bit strange at first, but the murals of forest scenes help set the mood a little bit, and eventually you just have your eye fixed on that tiny yellow target, so who cares if you're indoors. On the plus side, there's no wind indoors.
The owner Peter was the one who worked with our group, and was a great instructor. He laid out the rules of the facility, and then gave us a few tips on how to hold our bodies, how to shoot, and worked with each of us individually to make sure we started well. As we did more shooting, he would come around to offer tips and suggestions, and I felt like I was really shooting much more reliably by the end of our two-hour session. (You could also easily just spend an hour and have a great time.)
We mixed things up by adding balloons (very satisfying to pop the balloon) and then counting our scores over a series of rounds. Everything was very casual and low-key (no pressure), but it added some competitiveness that was fun. Peter is also a tremendously nice guy with a very interesting background; I enjoyed talking to him a little, and his English is impeccable. He really loves what he's doing, and it shows. read more
