Once again, this is one of the basic suburban stations. I would point out that it is accessible,…read morebut the thing is that most of the stations in Sydney are accessible, so I guess that isn't one of the things that set it apart. The other thing is that most of the stations also have facilities, so once again this isn't something that really sets this station apart for the other stations either. Honestly, it is really just a place to get onto the train, and off again, but then again that is the case with most of the stations, well, anywhere.

I can't really say that I was particularly impressed with this railway station, but then again as I…read morehave said multiple times in the past, you really don't have much of a choice when it comes to using railway stations - you simply get on, or get off, and the most convenient one. However, this place was reasonably accessible, and there are a few interesting things nearby, including a bookshop, which is probably worth getting off of the train for anyway.

It seems that they are slowly getting around to making the railway stations in Sydney somewhat more…read moreaccessible, and this one, at least when I passed through (meaning that I jumped off of the train for some completely unknown reason, and then got on to the next one passing through) they were in the process of constructing, or refurbishing, the station. Hopefully they do make it somewhat better.

This is a major interchange station, but that has a lot to do with it being on the junction between…read moretwo train lines. The place is pretty accessible, and quite close to the main town centre, as you would hope to be the case when it comes to railway stations. It is also fully serviced, but once again it is something that you would probably expect. Oh, and the trains are also pretty frequent as well.

Just like its sister station Museum, St James is one of the grand old dames of the Sydney rail…read morenetwork. Built as a major station in the 20s, the line it was supposed to serve ended up running direct to Town Hall instead so St James became a neglected backwater on the City Circle until it was restored to its full 1920s glory. Full of ornate brass and ironwork, polished timber, original tiles and period advertising (including the iconic Chateau Tanunda brandy sign at the Elizabeth St entrance). Travelling to St James is like stepping back to the 20s. St James is also known for the abandoned rail tunnels that were built for the line that was supposed to run through it but never did. Apparently one is now flooded and forms an underground lake which is used to water the grass in the Domain. The other contains a large bell. No one knows why. If you like tunnels you can do tours. For fans of the Matrix movies, you may well recognise parts of St James from Matrix Revolutions.
