I've been here twice. Both times, the front desk were just a little friendly. They'd call me up to…read morethe desk to see what I was there for but then act like I was interrupting them. I don't like that there's no privacy when going to the front desk. Everyone in the lobby shouldn't be privy to my information. I do not like that! 1 of the providers that I saw had no bedside manner. The other one did. When people come to an urgent care, they more than likely don't feel well. It's important to listen, have empathy, and not rush them out without fully addressing their needs/concerns. Both of my visits were quick - in & out in no time. There's plenty of parking available. I would definitely come back if I needed urgent care. It's convenient to my home. I don't worry much about rudeness from others. I just care about my issue being addressed.

A certain someone slipped at home and sprained his ankle. After debating for about an hour on…read morewhether I thought it was a big deal or not I decided I'd better have it checked out. As you enter, you sign in on an iPad and are seated until the receptionist calls you to the desk. Paperwork was quickly done (it helps that I am already in the UNC Health system) and I was provided a facemask. I was fortunate when I went that there was only one person in the waiting room, so I was seen with a minimum wait time. I had the initial consultation, an x-ray, the diagnosis, given an ankle brace and directions, and discharged, all in a reasonable amount of time. All staff I encountered were polite and professional.

When I attempted to schedule for the following day, I was told that there wasn't even a chart available to make an appointment for me. upon arriving, I was told to walk to another window, only to be informed by a staff member that no more walk-in appointments were being taken. After going back and forth with her, another staff member joined the conversation. Rather than resolving the issue, this individual escalated the situation with unhelpful comments and an unprofessional demeanor. Eventually, I was asked to provide all of my information to have an appointment scheduled for the next day. However, the staff member doing so displayed an attitude throughout the process, which was both unnecessary and discourteous. All of this took place while approximately 30 other individuals were waiting to be assisted--a clear sign of inefficiency and disregard for patient care. It is unacceptable for a facility serving this community to exhibit such unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. I was simply trying to take care of myself, and instead, I encountered resistance, inefficiency, and disrespect. I will never return to this facility, and I strongly urge you to address these issues immediately. The audacity to treat members of this community in such a manner is disgraceful, and if this level of service continues, your presence here is not welcome. Go SOMEWHERE ELSE KNIGHTDALE!

Don't go to the AFC Urgent Care in Wendell, unless you are in need of actual medical assistance -…read morein that case I would advise you to go elsewhere. I would like to point out that they have no email listed on their contact page here: https://www.afcurgentcare.com/wendell/resources/contact-us/ , only a phone number. So anyways, I went to the AFC Urgent Care in Wendell after I received a cut to my nose in a bicycle accident, which was not life threatening. The front desk receptionist asked me for $100 up front to be seen, and I told them to bill me later - the bill ended up being $191 instead of $100! But let me tell you what happened during the actual visit with the nurse whose name is listed as "Bunn, E" on the bill. She briefly looked at my nose and manipulated me into going to the emergency room at the nearby hospital. Her reasoning was that "our x-ray machine is broken" or some hogwash like that, when all I really needed was for them to fix up the wound. She used some incredibly coercive tactics on me, such as saying I couldn't leave the urgent care without signing a waiver first (???), and then having another lady watch over me in an attempt to prevent me from leaving. She practically bossed me into taking an ambulance to the hospital instead of driving there (I was perfectly capable of driving back home instead of that hospital or the urgent care), and I only agreed to it because I had ambulance insurance that would cover the whole cost of transportation. And the EMTs were pretty unprofessional too, asking me to sign a waiver that stated "I wasn't being kidnapped." Oh, and then the hospital billed my medical insurance $10,000, leaving me with a $2,300 bill for a 2 hour stay, and listed as an "auto accident" even when I told them multiple times that it was just a low velocity bicycle accident? All of you guys can really do better, especially when I wasn't being rude to anybody. In the itemized hospital bill, they are asking for $5,300 for a CT Scan, $252 for a Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis Vaccination, and $1100 for an x-ray. On top of that the doctor at that hospital billed me seperately (???) for $202? Please, try to take the maximum amount of money you could possibly charge from somebody else, not me please. Maybe from somebody with lots of spare change, robbers. Back to the original issue - the urgent care representative told me "the office manager will call you later," even when I requested to communicate via email, not by phone. They do not give a single damn about their customers it seems. Go ahead, have a good laugh at my expense, and post some glowing reviews to balance out your review average. But I object to most of these absurd medical bills you gave me.
