It was the middle of the day and I had the afternoon to kill before meeting others. I'd heard about…read moreJeita from the manager at the hotel I was staying at, who sung its praises, so I thought I'd stop by and grab a bite to tide me over. It was well after the lunch rush, and before folks started showing up for dinner, so I had the restaurant to myself. I looked over the menu, and decided that I wanted their hommos schwarma starter. After I had ordered it, I changed my mind, and felt I really wanted the spicier version of their hommos instead, the hommos Beiruty. They ended up giving me both, charging me for one, and provided loads of pita. I was looking for a snack, but this was turning into a meal! Anyway, I mentioned that I really enjoyed ayrans, a salted yogurt drink common to the Mideast, and asked if they could make one (it wasn't on the menu). The cook said he most certainly could, and had his own special recipe. Wow. They were not only providing a fairly cheap meal, but also a special drink not even on the menu! Anyway, both plates of hommos were tasty, especially the hommos Beiruty. The ayran, however, was in a class all to itself: it was singularly the best ayran I'd ever had in my life! I finished it, and they came by and filled up another glass (free of charge, no less). I walked out for 16 pounds, and had a bunch of leftovers! I regret with my activities this week that I could not stop by again. But I told folks I knew here all about it. Well worth a visit if you're in Guildford, even for the day.

Beirut street food. You can order from a take-away window or sit inside to eat. I got take-away,…read morethe window girl was so sweet she added some baklava on the house. This is why outs going to make me feel badly to say this, but not the best chicken shwarma, hummus, or tabouli that I've ever had. It was a bit bland, but sweet service which have them a 3-star rating. So the chicken shwarma was with dark meat and I've only ever had it with white meat. I got a small sliver of bone as that will stop me in my eating tracks! I know it's lame to say but it's a texture thing and it changes everything for me. Luckily it was toward the end so I didn't leave much. And yes, I know it will happen, even to us when we prepare our own food at home(not really) but I don't hold it against them. Its a personal thing for me.

They are situated outside the O2 arena opposite Ravensbourne college. They have a dining area next to the kiosk where one could eat their food and chill. Quiet a simple layout with dining tables and chairs, they also have a couches lined up against the wall. We were served by a lovely gentleman, very friendly and welcoming! Reason for not the full 5 stars was because the food my friend wanted to order wasn't available, so we opted for chicken and lamb shawarma with salad. Wonderfully made and very filling! They also had 'The Beatles' playing in the backgroud...FAB! I will definitely visit again :)
