This little donut haunt has been on my mind for a while, frequently passing by and wondering about their donuts. Early Saturday, I finally swung by to check it out. It was a nice, clean little shop. My eyes lit up with the variety of donuts behind the glass case. My attention was immediately drawn towards the little cake donuts. Usually, donut shops have the smallest selection of these wonderfully dense donuts, but I was delighted to see that I have many to choose from. Recalling numerous Yelp references to their blueberry cake donut, I could not resist and got myself a couple. They were so fluffy when you bite into it. Inside was blue, like a muffin. On the exterior was this nice glossy glaze, but it wasn't sticky like the raised donuts. Mmm...now I'm addicted. I wish I could have savored them, instead of cramming them into my mouth as I drove in the wet stormy weather. Their cinnamon twist was also unlike others -- more like flaky puff pastry than a donut...yummalicious! It's definitely a local favorite. I'll try to make it a point to stop by here when I have the donut craving that comes rather often than not. Been by Ming's Donuts a couple of times. First time, they closed early because all the donuts were sold out. This was about 10:30am on a Saturday morning so business was very good that day! Second time, I purchased my favorite kind of donut. They did not have the round Custard filled Chocolate donut that I wanted. The lady said that she would use a Chocolate Bar and fill it with custard. Works for me! Was a bit surprised that it costed $1.95 for that one donut. Honestly, I did not feel it was worth the price. I did not like the custard that was used. It tasted more like the stuff used for cream puffs. The Chocolate bar portion tasted decent, Would not be a regular based on these two visits. Thanks to fellow yelpers!!! I followed the stars and was not disappointed. Drive up to a little mom and pop donut shop. I can't tell if donuts are made on the spot, but a simple display has everything they have to offer right in front of you. No need to stroll down some long display cases. I immediately ordered a coffee and a chocolate raised. It was like biting into a cloud of sugary goodness. This had to be one of the best donuts I've ever had. I got an assorted dozen of donuts and just because there was space in the box, the lady gave me an extra cake donut (suh-WEEET). The raised donuts are definitely a hit, fluffy and fresh. My husband and I just moved into the area and were on a hunt to find our new favorite donut shop. Usually, we try looking for 3 things: customer service, how airy the donuts are and the equal balance of sweetness. We came here around 11am and the customer service here was great. They were very welcoming and they gave us a free blueberry donut for us to try since it was one of the more popular items on their menu. I'm not going to doubt it is a popular item because that was delicious! The donuts are also pretty airy and not too sweet.. which we were looking for. Ming's Donuts is a favorite and local donut shop in San Leandro that I count on for all my donut needs (early mornings, or afternoons). They're always opened and have the greatest selection of fresh donuts on display and are the sweetest family owned donut shop in the area. No matter what time I come in, they're always ready to give me at least a house dozen of donuts for my favorite starbucks baristas or picking up some goodies to impress my coworkers with. I've had a variety of everything, and nothing ever taste bad. Their hours are impressive, as is their customers service. There is a huge donut selection every day with your classic glazed, to your sprinkles and their house specialty. Every now and then, they'll throw in an extra donut or some donut holes with your order and it's awesome. Come early if you want their special Ming's blueberry donut or cronut (almost never there after 10am). They take both credit card and cash, but as a small local business, I encourage you all to use cash. The inside is super clean and everybody is friendly. Ming's Donuts really is a pretty good local donut shop located at the south end of doolittle right inside the strip mall. They open sometime between 4:30AM and 5AM and if you get there when they're opening, the donuts are as fresh as can be and oh so delicious. In fact, I believe the word scrumdidiliumtious comes to mind. They are awesomely good. I can't speak to the quality mid-day but early on, they are impecibly delicious. I usually wander in here after a night of hanging out way too late with my friends. I ask the couple that run the place politely for a couple of my favorite donuts, (old fashion chocolate and maybe a chocolate nut donut) and a chocolate milk, (yes I love chocolate, what gave me away?). I've had blueberry donuts before and was hoping to snag some but they were already sold out, then again, I stopped in at 9:30am which is late. Ummmm...don't understand the great reviews here. I was in the area and craving a donut. Based on Yelp reviews, I stopped by on a Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. To my surprise, there were (maybe) 50 donuts left. I got excited because I thought this was a good sign (few donuts left means lots of happy customers) and Yelpers had steered me in the right direction. But NO!!! I was WRONGED by my fellow Yelpers.. And after my terrible donut experience at Ming's, I am convinced my fellow donut Yelpers are on the donut bus to HELL!! I usually order one donut, but based on the reviews, decided to buy 2. I ordered a cake donut with chocolate frosting and peanuts. OH MY GOSH!! It was gross. It was laden with grease and tasted like one of those nasty Hostess cake donuts you buy in a package. I'm pretty certain the oil they used was old. The donut left a nasty film in my mouth. I only ate 1/4 of it. I moved onto my raised glazed with chocolate frosting and while it was better, there wasn't much of an improvement. It left a funny taste and greasy oil slick in my mouth. And, to make matter worse, when I walked into the shop, the worker (owner?) was standing right in front of me, behind the counter, and completely ignored me. After many minutes had gone by and I cleared my throat, she said abruptly (without even making eye contact) "What you want?" (Not "What DO you want?") I told her the donuts I wanted and she still wouldn't look at me. She then started a conversation in Chinese with another employee and without looking at me said, "Dollar seventy five." I gave her the money, she handed me my bag of donuts and didn't say "thank you" or anything at all. Ming's has been here forever! I've been going here since I was a youngin' and they've never let me down! I go through phases, and when I hit my donuts phase, I end up going to Ming's for 2 weeks straight. All of their classics are wonderful: chocolate bars, glazed twist, bear claws, etc. Like all other Yelper's, if you don't get here early enough, your choices are slim. My suggestion is their Blueberry cake (small size blueberry donut with glaze) and a hot chocolate. It's the perfect sugary "breakfast" to get you going! read more

My sister and I have been craving for donuts lately and have been hitting up every donut shop we could find. This one was located off Doolittle Dr. and right next to Sang Chong Supermarket so there's plenty of parking spaces available. We have constantly drove past this donut shop all the time and they almost always look super busy. When we came in it was about 9:30am and there were almost no donuts left! Not sure if they don't make large batches or if everyone swooped in during the wee hours of the A.M. and cleared out all the donuts?! They didn't even have regular glaze which is my favorite :(. My sister and I settled for what was left which was a plain old fashioned donut, a blueberry cake donut, and a chocolate cake donut. My sister said the blueberry cake donut was bomb, not sure if they have it every day though. The chocolate cake donut was pretty good too, it was soft and fluffy, but the chocolate was not as sweet as I liked. I also liked how this place sells little milk bottles. You CAN'T have dessert without milk!!! I've been to lots of cupcake/dessert places and complained because I wish I had milk to go with it, lol. Overall I'd probably check this place out again.
