It is a very interesting tour BUT if you are even remotely claustrophobic, I'd recommend you skip it. You first walk through a short tunnel, get into a holding room where you watch a short movie. Next you board a "train" - you are basically put into "capsules/wagons" that hold approx. 10 people each. There are some outdoor sittings at the end of said "capsules". It's a fairly long drive down the tunnel.
After the ride, you get a walking tour, which includes stairs and uneven surfaces. You then board the train again to the exit.
The tour is very informative and the guide was excellent. I felt that the info was a little too technical for my kids (8 & 11) but they did enjoy the train and seeing how this salt mine evolved. read more
