Everybody loves the Miner's Cafe in Nordegg. I've been coming here since they were in the old location and then only open seasonally. The new location is bigger and better and they are now open year round. The food is still excellent. The ambiance is friendly. I almost always end up talking to other customers so, yes it's that kind of a place. There was a long line up when we were here in August but now it's September and there was no waiting. I ordered the breakfast Wrap. It was a perfect breakfast. Later today we will return for some pie. You can't pass the Miner's Cafe without wanting some pie. I'll certainly be back. read more

This is a great stop in Nordegg for simple no fuss breakfast & lunch. Plenty of parking and it's close to the gas station too which is convenient as well. It's family friendly here, they have a high chair and booster seat available (although no kids menu). Indoor and outdoor seating are options as well as takeout. Upon entry there is also brochures of activities in the area ie) Banff as well as Nordegg shirts for sale. There are 2 washrooms which are very clean. If you order to dine in, they give you a rustic coaster with a letter on it for the staff to dish out food to your table. Service is quick and friendly. I'd say the portion is pretty good and the pies unique and delicious just as other reviews noted. We actually bought 2 frozen pies to enjoy at home afterwards. My husband actually suggested we go during camp trips for breakfast or lunch while in the backcountry, not just afterwards since it's a close drive to Abraham lake. read more

Hidden mountain treasure! What a gorgeous setting in Nordegg, Alberta. Go back in time to this wonderful old schoolhouse and enjoy the cutest bustling cafe in a former classroom! Food is excellent, wonderful soups sandwiches and the best pie in Alberta! Yes they brag about that and THEY'RE NOT LYING!! Soups, sammiches and pie! It's pretty much your only option in the area for food. People are friendly, pies are delicious. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which I found to be just ok, it came with a side of ruffle tater chips, which always feel a bit lazy, but I love em, so I don't complain. I ordered a slab of blueberry mango pie as my dessert as recommended by the counter attendant, it was delicious. Well worth the stop! read more

We stopped here on our way to Crescent Falls based on other good reviews. The food is delicious! The bread is homemade, my husband loved his turkey mozzarella sandwich and my goddess bowl was very tasty. We had the banana cream pie that was perfect! Not too sweet or heavy. Worth a stop if you are driving by Nordegg. read more

Great little cafe in the old Nordegg school. Really good home style food. The Potato Bacon soup was great, and the Banana Cream pie was probably the best that I ever had. Very reasonable prices. read more

We have been there for a afternoon coffee on a Saturday (Sep 11 2021) and Sunday morning for breakfast. It's an awesome place with delicious and affordable food. The pies are fantastic! Definitely a cool place... Everything is homemade, even the bread!! you can easily tell they make everything there, just by the fresh flavour of all the dishes... I went there for breakfast and ordered French toasts with ham... They were really good!! The orange juice I think it was made there... And the desserts were just delicious! The place is very nice as it is in the middle of the small town (80 people only) and the view is beautiful from there. The service is also good and friendly... The prices are very reasonable.. Next time I'll be in nordegg I definitely want to go back!! read more

The best pie I've ever eaten!! Great little place to grab some food. All home made, friendly people and some of the greatest servers ever!!

We stopped here for lunch as we drove through the mountains. There isn't much around but this place doesn't disappoint for homemade comfort food. I had the daily soup with a side salad. My partner had the chicken salad sandwich - great thick bread! Make sure you finish it off with a slice of one of their many homemade pies! read more
