I have never done an escape room before, but I was absolutely enchanted with the experience! The friends and I did the Excalibur escape room. Two of us have tons of experience with escape rooms. We all agreed that it was magical! The puzzles were fun and clever, the rooms were beautiful and the effects were very satisfying. I was so impressed at the level of detail in the design. I have done over 20 Escape Rooms and this place has awesome rooms. I went there with 7 other players with a total of 8. We played Gold Rush first and we all had a great time. Everyone had something to do and to solve. The theme was spot on! One of the most elaborate Themed rooms I have been in. Every detail was accounted for to make you feel like you were a minor in the gold rush time! We were able to get out with some time to spare. We played Conspiracy right after and it was very challenging. Also a very spot on themed room. This room was more challenging than Gold Rush. Some very unique puzzles I have not seen before that were very clever. And also the clue delivery was great! I would highly recommend you to try Mind Trap Escape Rooms. read more

Great experience for the whole family. The room was well put together and it kept us challenged. We were provided with clues when needed. Owners were very pleasant and provided us with a snack. Price was adequate, approximately $30-$36 per person. One down fall is if you don't pay for private game you could be placed with public. MindTrap has got to be one of the coolest experiences I've had in a long time. The immense attention to detail immerses you into the game, and the staff is extremely friendly + helpful. The puzzles are complex enough to keep you engaged but not so confusing your little one wouldn't be able to work it out. Would for sure go back and bring coworkers to team build !! read more

We completed their gold Rush room. They just opened, and it was earlier than they expected.. so some minor things like lobby decor were not ready yet, but there room meet and surpassed all expectations. You can tell that this is a family owned business and a lot of time, money, and heart went into making this room. With over 70 rooms done, this was surely up there with the best of them. So far we have only done gold rush but it was a very solid room. Decorations were probably some of the best we have seen in any room. Had a really good time and look forward to trying other rooms of theirs. We keep looking to do conspiracy but it always seems to be booked up when we want to go so eventually we will make it down there to check it out. read more

I tok my son and his friends to MindTrap (the Gold Rush room) for his birthday. This was our first time doing any kind of escape room. We were treated so wonderfully by the owner himself and his daughter--this is a family-owned business--and the experience itself was both immersive and fun! It was also quite challenging! We have done a lot of escape rooms all over Socal, usually, the best rooms are in LA and you are hard pressed to find a really quality room the further inland you go. But Mindtrap sets the local bar super high. Their quality is topnotch. Great set design and clever puzzles. We did their Conspiracy room first because we have done a lot of rooms and it was billed as being better for experienced players, it was a good room but when we returned to do their easier room Gold Rush man were we impressed. I wouldn't call it a super easy room, it can stump even seasoned players but what it will do is get newbies totally hooked on escape rooms. Also, both rooms are family friendly which I know can be harder to find for those who want to take kids. read more

We arrived in the lobby and the hosts were super nice. Once in the room it was really fun. Afterwards the owner/employee came out to talk to us and tell us about our game. We did a private room with two couples with kids. It was a ton of fun. For 8 people it wasn't terribly expensive for a Saturday night. This is my 5th escape room, and by far the HARDEST and my hardest I mean hardest I've ever done. It's not like any escape rooms I've done. I played with my husband and sister and 3 other strangers (played escape rooms before). We needed a lot of hints to understand what the hell we needed to do. We were pretty close in solving it. All I have to say is ASK FOR HINTS. We took 20 mins with no hints and this is the reason we did not get out. We needed about 10 more mins and we would've got out. This is the conspiracy room. We haven't tried the gold rush yet, but definitely will try later. read more

This was our first time doing an escape room. It was my three girls and I. We needed this to group together and help one another. The girls ages were perfect 5, 10, and 16! Great experience! This was our 9th escape room, and it was a lot of fun. The decor and ambiance were spot-on for the theme. This review is for the Gold Rush Room. Best Escape Room we've faced in the Temecula area by far. Fantastic production value, and some very clever and creative clues to solve. This is billed as a non-linear room, and while it does not necessarily follow a linear A to B to C model, there are plenty of linear elements to the room that you could miss if you approach with a strictly non-linear mindset. With two first timers in our group, it was the perfect level of difficulty to introduce them to escape rooms, but still challenging enough to hold the interests of the escape room veterans in the group. A few of the puzzles can be solved before you have all of the pieces, if you know what you're looking for/know how to manipulate your locks. Hint system allows for unlimited tips as they want you to succeed. Specific puzzles also have some hints placed near by to help guide players in the right direction. While the puzzle hints may seem superfluous for experienced players, they did help our new players. The lobby/waiting area has a restroom, water, and snacks (if you're clever enough), which was a welcomed addition we've never seen in an escape room lobby. Our game master (owner?) was polite and friendly, thoroughly explaining the rules to the room and answered any questions we had before entering. read more

We've done 5 escape rooms so far and this was our first MindTrap one. We did the Gold Rush! We had a blast. We had two adults, a 8 and a 5 year and all of us had a great time. The theme is amazing. You really feel like your somewhere else. The staff was great and the puzzles were fun and tricky without being too advanced! We are looking forward to trying more MindTrap escape rooms! read more
