This room was so much fun and we were continually amazed at the creativity and detail of each room. From the first room we were hooked and it only got better from there. We had our son' birthday party here. My son and his friends had a great time in the escape rooms. They did 40 Thieves and Conspiracy. Challenging and super fun. We also rented the event room. The room is stocked with paper plates, napkins, utensils. They even have ice if needed. We brought our own cake and food in but they can get you pizza. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly and super helpful. James the manager was awesome and helped us throughout the party. Highly recommend! read more

Fun outdoor activity to beat the pandemic blues. We did the Case of the Crayon Vandals in Old Town Temecula and with six of us solved it within 2 mins of our time limit. The clues were well organized and challenging enough. Our helper was responsive when we got stuck on one clue, assisted without giving the answer. Also, we were 10 mins late but they still accommodated us and we were grateful for that! read more

My wife and I drove up from San Diego because we heard this place was good, and it was well worth the drive. We did the Gold Rush room, and liked it so much we did the Conspiracy one on the same day. They were actually nice enough to create a new time slot so that we could do that. I would highly recommend going here, and doing both the rooms they have. We did the rooms as a 2 person team, but we're quite experienced, doing over 40 rooms together. I would definitely recommend 4-5 people if you are beginner/intermediate players. As with pretty much all escape rooms, I'd recommend no more than 6 for the best results. In my experience that's about the largest team that can work effectively and leave things for everyone to do. Gold Rush is a very solid room that will stretch your thinking a bit in certain ways, but for the most part the puzzles are solid and well integrated into the theme. Set design was extremely well done and immersive. The progression is logical, although you will have several puzzles on the go at once and need to figure out which ones you can actually complete with the information you have. We got out with 1 hint, which in hindsight we should not have needed (brain fart on our part). My advice for this room would be to examine everything carefully, there are a couple things hiding in plain sight. Conspiracy was my favorite of the two. It's more into the tech side, so if that's your thing than this is definitely the one to try first. Most importantly, their tech was *reliable*. Everything worked perfectly the first time, which is unfortunately uncommon for some of these gen2/3 rooms. I thought Conspiracy should have been harder than Gold Rush, but we finished it faster, and without any hints. Everything made sense in the room, and the story flowed nicely. Conspiracy would definitely be a challenging first room, as it relies on a lot of escape room tropes or conventions. I would recommend doing a few other rooms first if you've never done an escape room before. Gold Rush is probably more accessible. If it were your first room, you could probably complete most of it with a couple hints. It would be a really good choice for people who have done just a few escape rooms. read more

I've already done two rooms with Mindtrap (Conspiracy and Gold Rush) their rooms are just so much better than most escape rooms I've done (about 42 or so now). Tonight we did Excalibur and I was truly blown away- the setting is spot on and the puzzles are not typical puzzles you see in every room. Excalibur is the top on my list and I haven't walked out of a room truly excited and blown away like I did tonight. I will do every room that MindTrap makes, and I suggest if you're reading this, you should too. I'd give this company more than five stars if I could!!! read more

Gold Rush We've been hearing the rumors for a while now. About this gold mine up in Temecula, rooms that go beyond typical expectations of small town escape rooms. So we made a weekend of it and MindTrap was the first (ok, second) stop on our adventure. In the lobby, we met Nathan and his daughter who graciously shuffled things around to let us start early. They were friendly, welcoming, and clearly enthusiasts themselves. I wish we had more time to talk. Gold Rush up first, we headed in and started our search for the gold. There was some scavenging but other puzzles were fun and unique. The attention to detail was excellent and I loved that Nathan is sensitive to theme-appropriate puzzles. You won't find any directional locks in this 19th century room! And in an industry where walkie-talkies are the norm, I appreciate the unique hint system in this room as well. The GM was great, in character, and always attentive with just enough direction to help get us moving again. The second room was a BLAST as well and we escaped with 7 minutes to spare! ;^) Conspiracy After an introduction video, we headed into the lair of a conspiracy theorist. Walking in his footsteps, we connected the dots, pieced together the clues, and uncovered the mystery about the "real" truth (which IS out there by the way). The puzzles were logical and well-executed and the room flowed very well. The hint system here was tied to the theme, and our GM delivered help flawlessly with enough information to get us unstuck without directly giving us the answer. We escaped with about 15 minutes to spare. Overall, we felt like we struck gold! Both rooms at MindTrap are gems (forgive the blended metaphor) and the GMs and hint systems are great. We preferred Conspiracy a little more which ranks 27th out of 137 rooms done to date. Gold Rush comes in a little lower at 40th but both rooms are a lot of fun and highly recommended! read more

I came to this Escape room as a work "team building" event! Gotta tell you the truth had a great time! This was the second time I have tried an escape room. The first time I went down to San Diego with some friends and we had a good time as well! So coming into this escape room I had high expectations.. the rooms were a little small but it was still pretty challenging, and the props and detail of the room were very realistic so I was very impressed with the detail of the room!
