Still my all time favorite escape rooms! We've done upward of 50 escape rooms all over the US, and Mind Trap still has our absolute favorites. We've done all of the rooms at both locations, and love them all. We just finished the outdoor scavenger hunt/escape room in Old Town. Amazing escape room! My boyfriend and I have done a few escape rooms and this one by far had the best story and set production. Our game master Jacob was great and super helpful. We did the "40 Thieves" room and we succeed with just two people, but we definitely would have gotten done quicker with a larger group to divide and conquer. This place was wonderful from start to finish! Upon arrival, we were given the waivers to "read" and sign. The waivers also asked for an email, so they can send you the group picture of whether or not you escaped. We experienced amazing customer service. After handing us the waivers to review, he let us experiment with 3 levels (easy, medium, & hard) of puzzle boxes. It's perfect for first timers and those who need a refresher when it comes to escape rooms. Within those boxes were... SNACKS! I was full from dinner, but I LOVE snacks! What a pleasant surprise. Water is free but please recycle and properly get rid of your trash if you brought it in or grabbed a snack. We were told the appropriate instructions and how to respect the room, so others can enjoy the escape room. His instructions flowed smoothly, and we were super comfortable. The video kind of set up the mood before we began our room. All their rooms looked crazy interesting, and the rooms have difficulty ratings. Please don't hesitate to ask for clues. I LOVE the way they hand out their clues. It's so creative, and it's still a small puzzle just trying to follow the clue. This was only my second escape room but the creativity into the rooms, the employees, and the entire set-up was FANTASTIC. My family and I did the 40 thieves themed room. I was a little anxious not knowing what to expect, jump scares, loud startling noises. Our game master assured me I had nothing to worry about! Had so much fun! With 5 of us, only one having done an escape room before, we completed in 72 minutes. Two minutes longer than the given time. Great experience. Definitely worth the money. 2 of my friends and I (20) wanted to do something fun last minute, bored on a Sunday. We went in and there was available rooms and we got in in 10 minutes. James was our game master and super helpful guiding us through how escape rooms go. He also asked us about what we liked at the end and got a fun picture. The rooms lighting and decorations was realistic and fun. All of the effects really surprised me and exceeded my expectations for my first escape room. We did the conspiracy escape room and finished it with just over 3 minutes left. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

This is our third Escape Room and our favorite. We did the conspiracy room. We had a team of 8 and worked hard to work together which is what enabled us to figure out the room before time ran out. PLAY BOTH ROOMS!! This is a long overdue review for some of the best escape games I have played. We played both rooms back-to-back and loved them both for their unique qualities. Our group of pro players didn't steam roll as we expected, but it could have been because we were taken by the immersion of the scenes they created. I am a huge fan of rooms that take you out of present day and into their world and MindTrap accomplished this. Although I enjoyed both rooms, I will have to recommend Gold Rush if you only have one game to play. This is because I'm a sucker for western themed rooms and they did it right. The puzzle flow in both rooms make sense and the complexity of the puzzles makes you think, the puzzles don't frustrate you and they are not easy. Finally, the story. So few rooms know how to create a story that keeps you captivated from the beginning to the end. Both stories are interesting and presented in a way that keeps a goal in mind. If you are in Temecula, play the games at MindTrap. read more

If you haven't played MINDTRAP'S newest escape room--40 thieves--well you should. It's SPECTACULAR! It's wonderfully immersive and visually gorgeous. I had to force myself to try to solve because the attention to detail is so impressive I could spend the hour just looking at everything. Take along family and friends because you'll all be very busy with lots and lots of creative challenges that are so much fun! I have done close to 25 escape rooms and this one is right along with some of my favorites. The tech worked well, sometimes so clean we did not realize it did. The story made sense. The puzzles were difficult to figure and yet made total sense once they were solved. I will definitley come back to tey out another one of their rooms. read more

My wife and I did the conspiracy Room and it was fantastic!!! It was our first time in an escape room. We scheduled an early reservation and were the only two in our group. It was not easy but it was so much fun. Very intricate and well thought out. We are definitely going to be back to try out the other room. Spoiler alert Vader it Luke's father. Went back to try the second room and we loved it!!! It was my wife and I again. We had the room all to ourselves. They said this was the easier of the two rooms but it was definitely not a cake walk. So much fun. Both rooms are so intricate and well thought out. There are a couple of puzzles that had me going wow that is freaking cool. I wish I could give another 5 star review. Another great experience. Also Casey helped us both times and she was awesome. Very friendly and really enthusiastic. Today my boyfriend and I completed both rooms. First we tried Gold Rush with just the two of us and completed it with twenty minutes left. We've done upwards of 50 rooms and this was definitely a top contender. We absolutely loved the way the puzzles were laid out. This room was a little more lock based with a few different style locks, but they all fit the theme really well! Then we went back with two friends to complete the Conspiracy room and we were blown away! There were puzzles and locks that we've never seen before which becomes more rare the more rooms you've completed! Also, outside of the room element the owners Nathan and Emma and their kids Stephanie and Aiden really added to the experience. You can tell this company is run by people who truly care about what they're doing and love every second of it. We cannot wait to see their new location once it opens up because we love supporting a family business that truly deserves it! So I highly recommend checking out this location and trying both of their rooms! read more
