The pretty good: The burger meat was tasty and good price. Unfortunately, the patty was not so big and the bread dwarfed it. Removing half the bun helped a lot. Very confused about the hype. I got a cheeseburger ($5.25), without the ketchup and mustard. It was very average. My husband got the cheeseburger with the ketchup and mustard and the taste was overtaken by the condiments. Some of the fries ($2.75) were good and crunchy, others soggy. Turns out that Moab has a few good food spots, but my favorite of our Arches/Canyonlands trip? Milt's. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it runs like a well-oiled machine and the food really hits the spot after some outdoor activities. It's a standard burger and fries joint, but the prices are actually pretty cheap for the quality of food. I love the fact that you can see through the window to watch your order being made, but be warned, your mouth will water throughout the entire process. We ended up getting a couple of burgers and split a side of tater-tots (they were out of fries) and a cookie and cream shake. We heard our number called in a reasonable amount of time and stuffed our faces at a table underneath the tree. It was perfect, really. If we had the time, we definitely would have come back. My favorite by far was the Santa Fe burger (the topping of green chillies was perfect) and the double cheeseburger (just so classic). Sides: onion rings, fries, green chillies fries, bbq pulled pork fries Onion rings such a strong highlight, you must get them as a side. Fries also great! This used to be so good and we never missed going every time we were in Moab. I don't know what happened but I'm guessing it might be under new ownership. It's just not good anymore. They use frozen hamburger patties and the pickles they use are now a variety of of sweet pickle and they make the whole burger taste horrible. Who puts sweet pickles on a hamburger????? This place can get extremely busy but for good reason. I had a Santa Fe burger but switched chipotle mayo to mayo because I don't like conflicting chile flavors. Chipotle always comes second to real green chile. I added tots and a coke float for the full calorie bomb effect. Tasty AF. The people watching is fabulous because all walks of Moab tourist and local life come here. We enjoyed the food so much that we came here again the next day for the same exact meal. I ordered the cowboy jalapeno burger and my bf ordered the cheeseburger w/ bacon and fried egg. He liked my burger with jalapenos a lot more, adds more flavor. I liked that the buns are super soft (see photo). I recommend ordering sides with your burgers because the burger is bit on the smaller/flatter side. We got chili cheese fries (they don't skimp on the meat and toppings) and banana oreo milkshake. I placed a phone order to go. Service in and around Moab is pretty spotty esp leaving Canyonlands theres no service for 30 mins driving into downtown Moab. Once I got service, I called. You can also place an order online if you can get good service. I was told it's a 45 min wait which is fine. We drove by and parked under a tree and waited. TONS of people waiting in line to order and pick up. While waiting in the car, a cat was meowing at us. We named her Sky for her beautiful blue eyes. Milt's is one of those local places where you want to visit multiple times because the food is that good. The burgers are fresh and always hit the spot after a day in the National Parks. You'll rub elbows with locals and folks from out of town. The shakes are really good to. The staff are friendly and service is quick. You can see them make your food through the big windows. Yes, the burgers are their signature meal, but I just discovered their brisket fries which is really good, better than their burgers. The meat is well smoked and flavorful. During an afternoon hike nearby, my buddy and I chatted with a friendly hiker who raved about an old-school burger joint in town she had just tried. It was called Milton's....or Mike's...or something. My friend and I had no idea where this was, so we looked it up after our return to town. It turned out that Milt's was the oldest restaurant in town, having been open since 1954. It's not part of chain either; it's the only one. Being reasonably close to our hotel, we hoofed it over here after a shower and a change of clothes. (Also it turns out that after spending $$ out-the-nose for several days, we were ready for some fast, cheap eats). I absolutely loved the place, for multiple reasons: 1) It was a bit like walking into an old snapshot; 2) They offered decent food at great prices; 3) There was a large variety of folks here for some quality people-watching, such as: tourists (like us); local regulars (who seemed to know the staff by name); truckers passing through town; a small group of youth baseball players after a game; and even folks who seemed to be coming from formal events; 4) Customers ate at various picnic tables setup outside under an enormous sycamore tree. Plus it didn't hurt that it was a beautiful, cooling evening. Milt's itself was shaped like a box, with staff inside and patrons outside. No drive through here; Ordering was via a walk-up front window. The line moved pretty fast, since the menu was straightforward, and a lot of people knew what they wanted. I opted for a fish sandwich, a side of onion rings, and a vanilla shake. $15 before tax. My food was just what I wanted. It was of surprisingly good quality and filling; and it tasted like a gourmet meal after our hike. Sadly, with only one more full day here, we didn't get a chance to return to Milt's, but it is definitely bookmarked for a future trip to Moab. read more

Find yourself a seat outside wherever you can. Burgers are cheap. Less and $10. A lot of classic burgers also they have their signatures. I had the bacon and egg cheese burger, the sunny side up egg makes a big difference when the yolk running down into the patty. Union rings comes in a good portion. The best thing is their milk shake. Wow - really, really surprised at the great reviews. We waited over an hour for an overcooked, minuscule patty 2/3 of the size of the bun with funky cheese, an icky excessive amount of lettuce and an overpoweringly bready bun. My daughter nearly cracked a tooth on a piece of hard cartilage in her burger, turning her off the meal completely. 1/2 of the order was entered wrong (wrong flavor shakes, burger instead of the blt we ordered), and the shakes (which were excellent but the straws are too thin for the thickness of the shake, making them difficult to drink) came out 55 minutes before the food so my kids were full of ice cream before their food even arrived. We came for a quick meal and were annoyed to have this take up half the afternoon and be pretty darn bad. Good onion rings, good shakes, sloooooooooooooow service, terrible burgers.
