I'm a fan of Airport West Westfield for the following reasons:…read more - It doesn't seem to get as busy as other major shopping centres, and even when it is busy the customers out here have been trained in the arts of not pissing you off and not getting in your way; basically most peeps are considerate, which is so helpful when you've got a five year old and a 14 month old in a pram. - Open late Thursday and Friday nights, and open all weekend until 5pm. - No where near as large as Highpoint or Chadstone, making it more convenient for mums, prams, wheelchairs etc as nearly everything you need is on the Ground floor. - Massive free car parking, with car parks all around the centre so you can park closest to where you're going to shop; as well as disabled parking spots there are also parking with pram spots - EXCELLENT! - All the major chains you've frustratingly grown to need; Coles, Aldi, Woolies, Target, KMart, Best and Less. - A satisfying mix of high end and high street fashion, kids shops, all the major (and most non-major) banks, cinema complex, hair and beauty salons, a large round circular food court offering take out and fresh food and fantastic toileting facilities including multiple parent rooms with TV's and playrooms. Everything you need and want in a more convenient and thoughtful centre. Especially great for the grocery shop with free parking directly out front of whichever shop you choose and extended trading hours.

This shopping centre has got a lot of things right that a lot of shopping centres have got wrong! Lets look at them in point form: 1. The car park is enormous and completely surrounds the shopping centre - so you can park near the closest entrance to the particular shop you need. 2. It is virtually all on the ground floor, so you dont have to buggerize around with escalators and lifts 3. There is a pub in the carpark (Skyways Tavern) - albeit not a great one, but it has a TAB if you need to put a bet on... (thats what we do out this way!) 4. It actually has a Target unlike most of the shopping centres I usually go to. All in all its pretty good. The big negative though is that the food in the foodcourt is absolutely appalling!!!! I dont know why but I can never find anything very nice to eat in that place. If the food was better, Id consider giving the centre 4 stars, but without decent food it only gets 3...

Each appearing dark and hollow harboring memories of a former life.Strung up and perched upon the cheap plastic chairs they remained silent reminding Natalia of last years designer rain coats. Encircled by her silent audience, the dull murmur found its way into her ears revealing her vulnerable sensitive side. But she knew in her heart tonight would be the break through she needed.Standing staring her mouth slowly opened "I'll give it to you straight,My name is Natalia K and I'm addicted to High Point Shopping and I don't give a damn! You hear me!!" HighPoint Shopping Center------ The first thing you'll notice, the size of the structure. Containing 156,000m² of shopping space spanning 4 floors and flaunting 500 plus shops it is truly something to marvel, rivaling even Chadstone Shopping Eastland and Doncaster. For it it's the 4th largest shopping center in Australia. History---- Eventually built in 1977 the original site was home to an anti aircraft gun/battery due to its hilly strategic location shortly after it was used as a quarry parts of the quarry walks remain which become evident when standing in the lower car parks. Then finally the site was built into a shopping center originally called Westland Shopping Center that has since been Branded HighPoint the name we know today. Shops--- They got most of my favs DJ'S Myer Topshop Zara To name a few rest are listed here http://www.highpoint.com.au/ Food--- Great selection of food choices spanning the typical unhealthy junk food fair right up to some decent restaurant quality food. Other POI(points of interest)---- 6200 plus car parks with park assist bays (the little green/red light indicator above car parks) Free car parking If you don't have a car/transport the best way to get here is via a tram as there is no train nearby. Also if the center hasn't got what your after on the outer perimeter there are many house and home furniture stores also high fi and electrical warehouses a Bunnings and a bowling center plus Mechanics and more. Summary---- This is a great place to shop eat watch movie did I say shop yes shop, get a massage buy a pet hit the gym or buy a gym get some photos taken blah blah lol Would I recommend you go---Yes Would I go again --- Does a bear crap in the woods Ps The new shopping area is set out very well and it's the go to zone for the hungry shopper. And girls don't feel guilty for being a shopaholic embrace it like I did.

This really isn't one of the best shopping centres that I have visited, not that I tend to rate…read morethem all that highly anyway. The annoying thing about it is that you have to walk across a ton of carpark from the tram stop to actually get to the shopping centre, and there really isn't all that much here, other than a cinema and a couple of cafes. Well, the do have an Ikea, which is sort of unique where shopping centres are concerned.

Victoria gardens is personally my favourite shopping Centre! Unlike northland it is not so big that…read moreyou get lost and can't find your way around. And unlike northcote plaza it actually has useful shops. Victoria gardens has lots of clothes shops for example cotton on, kmart, tempt, jeans west etc it also has a very big food court and food for all your fussy family members. It has a cinema which always comes in handy when you have nothing to do. One of my favourite things about Victoria gardens is of course ikea, what would you do with out ikea oh yeah NOTHING!! The ikea in vic gardens is very big and it has a childcare program where you just say "take my kids while I shop at ikea" and then POOF kid free. Vic Gardens includes boost, pet shop, various 2 dollar shops, sushi, Coles, dimmocks, dick smith, bakers delight etc I believe that this shopping centre couldn't get any better

I'm just starting to discover the beauty of Moonee Ponds and the abundance it offers in the forms…read moreof retail therapy, hair and beauty and nightlife. It has become one of my fave new suburbs to explore, and of course I started off at the place called Moonee Ponds Central!! (Where else would you go?) Situated at the corner of the junction, spanning over three spacious buildings from Hall street to Puckle street, and less than ten minutes walk from the train station, MPC shopping centre has everything you need, contained in an easy to navigate facility. Don't get me wrong, it's not the sort of place you'd forsake Highpoint, Chadstone or DFO for, but if you're in the area or new to it it's a great little find. Containing those evil necessary giants Kmart and Coles, the big banks NAB, Commonwealth and St George, a First Choice Liquor Store and a great variety of cafes, fresh food, beauty services, a 24 hour gym and fashion for the whole family. Even a division of Kangan TAFE is here!! As a mother with two young children, I find MPC has everything I need, plus the extras I enjoy in a convenient centre that's easy to navigate with a pram.

Shara's review was absolutely right on the money!…read more Moonee Ponds Central is a great little shopping centre about the same size as Barkly Square in Brunswick or Northcote Plaza in Northcote, except it has a few little bonuses that those two shopping centres dont have too! The most useful thing about MPC is the undercover car park!!! And its free parking too!!!! (the one next to Coles anyway - in the original MPC building). Not sure if the one under kmart is free or not. The undercover parking is perfect for supermarket shopping in wet weather. The centre also contains some other useful additions, including Michel's Pattiserie which gives away its pies and spinach rolls very cheap towards the end of the day and a very good chicken shop just outside the door of the northern building. The centre covers 3 buildings on the 3 streets parallel to and including Puckle Street and they contain clothing stores, food shops, kmart, Coles, a lolly shop and various shopping centre rides for the kids. In the old days, if you parked in the Coles carpark, then the walk to Puckle Street was boring, but now you have the centre to walk through and there are all sorts of interesting things in the shops to look at on the 2 minute walk to Puckle Street!!! As for the atmosphere, you wont find as many cool funky people here as you will in Barkly Square or Northcote Plaza (you will find some though - including myself!), but you wont find it a boring place full of bogans and suburbanites either. Its a bit of both. It is very down to earth and the shop keepers and checkout chicks always take the time to have a chat to the customers - which is a really nice touch! If you live anywhere near the area and havnt been in here, definitely come for a look - especially if it is raining!
