Open abundance of green areas. Tennis courts. Baseball fields. Community vegetable Gardens. Large multi children's modern playground equipment. The dedication benches placed throughout the park for leisure and rest time. They even have an activities building. Check out the signs throughout the park, to see the local Habitat in the Pond. Pets on leashes are fine they even offer waste pick up bags to promote healthy environmental habits. This massive space is yet another wonderful park in Berwyn. Visitors , Be respectful of the. Neighbors as this is a quiet neighborhood community. East of Harlem Avenue. South of Berwyn Public Library. North of Route 66

This is a nice little walking trail, part of the Des Plaines trail system, but I enter further…read morenorth, not on Harlem In River Forest as Yelps cites as an address. I park and enter the trail in River Grove, about a mile north of Russel's Barbecue restaurant, about .75 miles north of Evans Field, which is all part of the same trail system. Jerome Huppert Woods has plenty of free parking and easy access to a fairly even trail, although parts of the trail are in full sun, so quite hot in a sunny summer day like today. Some neat graffiti art to check out. No animals today, but I believe deer come by every so often. We had to step aside frequently for bikers, but only encountered a handful of other hikers. I don't believe I saw any portable potties, so come prepared. No water either, and not much shade, so bring a water bottle.

While the trails for hiking and mountain biking are tame they are part of the larger Des Plaines River trail and are well maintained and give you a chance to walk over and look down on the Des Plaines river from a much nicer location than most pedestrian bridges. This park also offers a lot of geocaching options (16 last I checked) which always adds to the excitement of a good hike. Closer to North Ave. there is also a picnic area with a covered pavilions and enough room for a large group and field space for soccer or football. They have another large picnic area on Thatcher as well.

This park is absolutely beautiful. I love the different trees but my favorite is the evergreens. And, I love that all the flowers and grass are native to the prairie land. There are two nature walkways enclosed by flowers and shrubs on the south and north side of the west end of the park. Walking through the winding paths brings me very close to nature. It makes me feel like I'm somewhere else.

There is a small parking area for you to park your car. The field house is located in the corner for you to use public restrooms or maybe even have small birthday parties, gatherings or events for the kids. Even though my son is now in college. I still love to come back here and channel into my kid zone. I sometimes will grab a book, lunch and come and sit on one of the nice size rock and enjoy the weather. I also, still like to get up on one of the swings and enjoy the great spirit of seeing how high I can swing into the air. You can also enjoy walking along the parks path. Great for relaxing or just bringing the kids out to have fun on the many different activity equipment that is located in the middle of the park

The pool was open from noon-5pm (it was opening day, I don't believe those are standard hours). We bought tickets online in the morning before going, which was a good idea because there was an incredibly long and slow line to purchase tickets. It was $15 per person. They have changing rooms, including showers with soap. They have a reasonably priced concession stand (no outside food allowed). There was a gigantic pool with multiple sections, including a zero depth entry section, 2 lap lanes, a 12 foot diving pool with diving pool and 2 drop slides. 2 medium large water slides. There was also a huge splash pad including a set of little kid water slides and a water bucket that dumps water on people. The life guards were great. We had a great time!

We were very impressed by all of the lifeguards tonight. They were very pleasant and attentive and kept a close watch on the action. The pool has 2 slide areas, a kids section, lap lanes, diving well, and free play space. Grassy area and lounge chairs. My teen enjoyed the concession stand- soft serve ice cream and funnel cakes! I like how they enforce the "no food on deck" and "no shoes on deck" rules. Points off as the parking is absolutely bonkers. There were other sporting events happening tonight, plus just folks in the park, so there was no available parking. We parked in the farthest lot, which seems like a full 2-3 blocks from the entrance, and with 1-way lanes it took us super long to get everyone in and out of the event. Also, the locker rooms were outdated and did not smell the best.

Further up the block is the Italian American Civic Organization. 7-11 is just East and several gas stations and restaurants nearby. Freddy's pizza & Paisans just East on 16th Street. Offering different styles of pizza, both good. Nice quiet neighborhood, please be respectful of residence.

There's no services here--you won't find nature center or anything, but there are lots of benches, some picnic areas, and bathrooms. Birding is a popular activity here. In fact, I was here for a program called Owl Prowl because it's starting to become a particularly good time of year to hear them (not see). I think it was the Great Horned Owl and the Screech Owl that we were on the prowl for. I learned that screech owls kind of sound like a horse when they neigh; that was unexpected. Eggers Grove has varying terrain and that is welcoming to birds that don't stop around here in other places, and it's a good place for migratory birds. I was here after dusk so I'd like to visit sometime when it is light out to see the area. It's popular for hiking. There is a humongous parking lot, so you shouldn't have a problem finding a place if you venture out here. Humongous parking lot so many spaces you can park here with your friends family your high school senior class.

They also have a sand lot, tons of fun play structures, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a walking/ running path. I'm a creature of habit and I also loathe too much sun and humidity. I prefer this park because there are many areas of shade and places to picnic. The walking path is also a great and safe place for my son to ride his bike. P.S. One of the few parks whose public washrooms do not send me into gagging fits.
