I definitely expected his work to be more professional and detailed and it was not. During the project his workers told him that they weren't able to dig in my yard because it was full of clay which was a lie. I planted the flower beds where they were and that's some of the softest and most fertile ground in my yard. The truth is I was here every day they worked, they took numerous breaks as it was extremely hot those days. They went and got drinks, was wetting themselves down and set a lot more on those days than they worked. Instead of lying to their boss they should have been honest. When I went to explain the facts of what happened as I was here, he went on to tell me that I was only here for one of the three days which was yet another lie. One of my plants was ran over in this whole ordeal, wires in the back were cut etc. due to the lies I really began to question their story telling me the wires were cut by the plumbers. Nothing was said about my tree and the job was not clean, neat, nor detailed. I am very disappointed in what I have seen and received. Mr. Boling got very disrespectful when I went to voice my concerns and my daughter over heard him saying it would look "stupid" to build up those areas the way we originally discussed them to be built up. He went on to send very disrespectful text messages. I was truly surprised as I feel as though we were ripped completely off by him and I was expecting this experience to be great and it was far from being anything close to that.

I sent him a teext stating, that we are not interested in doing business with him. Then he texted me at 2 a.m. stating his phone had issues and he was at Verizon to get it fixed. That must have been a huge process from 1.30 p.m. Sunday until 2 a.m. Monday morning. He asked to meet up again, and I declined. That is where Mr. Robertson went off on me insulting with threats. We have blocked him since. Pictures as proof. This person is not reliable, on time, brings excuses, and disrespected my husband who is a military retiree.

We needed these removed because they were close to the house, the roots were growing across the driveway and wanted to have the driveway redone before our son's wedding in July. Robertson's showed up on 28 April to begin removing the trees and it has been a constant headache since. The machinery keeps breaking, they just won't show up. Now we have had four large trees laying the yard for 3 weeks, and we can't move them ourselves. After almost a month and all the excuses, we need these trees removed, so we are having to contact other companies to see if they do the job. Chad is a nice enough guy, and it is very disappointing that we aren't able to recommend a local small business. UPDATE: Customer log-Day 45: Trees are still laying in the front yard. With the consistent rain and future forecast, researching how to build an ark out of said trees. UPDATE: Customer Log-Day 46: Trees still laying in the yard, haven't heard from Chad. After research, we cannot get enough lumber from said trees to build an ark, plus husband has put his foot down about more animals. Trying to brainstorm others uses for the trees. UPDATE: Customer Log-Day 47: Trees still down in the yard, stumps starting to sprout new growth. Still no word from Chad about completing the job. New idea is to dig a moat around the house and use the trees to make a drawbridge. Still have to convince the hubby that this would be pretty awesome. UPDATE: Customer Log-Day 48: The infamous trees remain covering the front yard and sadly the husband has once again nixed my brilliant ideas for use of the trees. So, no moat or drawbridge. Guess, I'll need to cancel the order for the dragon costume I got the dog. If only Robertson tree company would COMPLETE the job they were hired to do. UPDATE: Customer Log-Day 49: Well, the front lawn is still strewn with large downed trees leaving me still struggling to find a good use for them. Since I've been struck down with the Ark, and moat/drawbridge, I think I may try and take up carving sculptures with the chainsaw. You know the big cute bears, eagles totem poles you see in the mountains. I just need the hubs to get out the chainsaw for me. Man, I just wish Robertson Tree Co. would finish the job then I wouldn't keep getting disappointed when my absolutely fabulous ideas are knocked down, sigh. UPDATE: Customer Log-Day 50: So, as excited as I was to begin carving a Bigfoot statue with the chainsaw, my husband is afraid I'll shoot my eye out with flying wood chips. I mean, come on it's not a Red Ryder Carbine-action 200-shot Ranger Model Air Rifle for Pete's sake. I guess there will be no major rewards illuminating the yard from this idea. For now I can only imagine how beautiful my lawn would look like now if Robertson Tree Company had done the job they were hired to do. It would have been maniacal, pink bunnies and all. Sadly, back to the drawing board.

Now for my problem: Cost. I have had tree work like this done before for our property in New Jersey and was shocked with the final bill for this provider's services. I paid the bill but emailed the owner about a few concerns. Michael (the owner) agreed to meet me and discuss the bill. At first I thought the meeting would go well, but I was insulted by how he tried to show me his fuel credit card bills, a recent HVAC service that he had performed (trip charge, diagnostic charge etc.), insurance costs, etc... GOT IT, BUSINESS is expensive. 7 men at $65 per hour = $7.58 per minute. First, there was about an hour and 15 minute period where 4 of the men (two tree climbers and helpers) were minimally working, mostly standing around waiting on the bucket truck to be done so they could do the final cleanup/chipping. When I queried about why I was paying $65 an hour each for 4 men standing around, I was not given a satisfactory answer. He gave me a wishy-washy excuse that this was built into the price and he should be charging more. If I would have comprehended better that in fact I was being charged for them to be standing around, I would have had them trim the hedges or work on more trees in the back. Second, the rounding of the times was in their favor. My phone clock said 1103 when they were done, the main person on the job-site said he called and said they were done at 1110, my final bill said 1115. I know this might be trivial about minutes... but we are talking about $7.58 a minute (10 minutes = $75.80). He said that rounding like this was normal. Would I recommend his services to a friend? No, but if they insisted, it would be with caution due to cost. Will I use their services in the future? No... thought that I might, but after being belittled by the owner after discussing our bill, I would not. Bottom Line: I believe that when I do not get a proper estimate or even "rough" estimate I should take some blame as well, chalk it up to "stupid tax". I know that he will stand by his statement that you can't give a solid estimate for this type of job, but I should have asked "how many men?" and "roughly how long should this job take?" Certainly with his 20 years of experience and being a 'Certified Arborist', he should have been able to answer those questions. Unfortunately, with a busy schedule and newborn, I did not do my due-diligence and paid for it.
