Over the years I've dealt with 5 other tree companies. Especially after the May tornadoes that left me a little traumatized. Millers is by far the best. They are very respectful and pay attention to detail. Their price is comparable to the others. I appreciate the assembly line they have going on. Besides the trees being gone, I can't even tell that they were here. No damage to property or even bushes. No water bottles or trash tossed in debris piles like other companies have done before bc there were no piles laying around....truck on site. I told them I'm not one to leave reviews, but I felt that I needed to this time. I feel safer and relieved that this worry literally hanging over my head has been lifted. I cant thank them enough! These guys are amazing; couldn't be more impressed with them and their work. I have some Sweet viburnum bushes in the backyard that are 20-25ft tall and they had gotten out of control and desperately needed to be trimmed back on all sides. Miller's came out within about a week to do the job, had it all trimmed up in under an hour and their cleanup job was absolutely spotless. I live next door where Miller's Tree Service was taking down a pine tree, as they were cutting down the tree of course some debris was falling in my yard, but they never came to my house to pickup all the debris. To make matters worse once the tree was cut down the crew stacked all the debris in my front yard! Not one person came to my front door and ask if it would be okay if they stacked the neighbors debris in my front yard! I went outside and did take pictures of all the debris. I just had lawn service done about 45 minutes before Miller's Tree Service was next door. In my opinion Miller's Tree Service doesn't care if debris falls on neighbors property nor do they care where their crew stacks the debris in a neighbors yard! I did call Miller's Tree Service 3 times about the matter, I also called the project manager. After 4 hours Miller's Tree Service came by to pickup the debris in the front yard and the backyard even though they had left some debris in the backyard. Miller's Tree Service NEVER HAD PERMISSION from me to stack the neighbors Debris in my front yard! I would NEVER recommend Miller's Tree Service to anyone when they will stack yard debris on others property. read more

In one day, MIller's removed five 100+' pines and removed a shorter one for us. While several were surrounded by bushes, the trees were removed with no damage to the shrubs. Their expertise and efficiency were incredible to watch. Even after grinding up the stumps, they made sure that the mess was cleaned up and left little sign that they had even been here. Couldn't be more impressed with the Miller's team from the front office to the on-site crew. We had five large pines and a river birch removed in about two hours, including grinding the stumps and removing all debris. It was like watching a ballet. It was one fluid process from the tree being cut at the base, lifted over the fence, trimmed, cut and finally being loaded into the truck. The entire crew was professional, organized, informative, efficient, safe, and proud of their work. I say proud of their work, because they left the areas where they worked cleaner and tidier than when they arrived. The areas were raked, pine straw was not only put back in the beds, it was re-fluffed and looked like it was laid for the first time. Yesterday morning my husband and I had made plans for a vet visit for our old dog early in the morning since we had no other appointments. At 7:30 AM a man rang our doorbell. I looked out in the yard and saw 4 or 5 other men. Two weeks before Miller Tree service had said that they would call us when they could come out during the week to take about seven medium sized trees out. The manager also said that he would look at one other tree that we wanted to take out and give us a price before they came out to do the job. We could see then, if we wished to contract with them. Due to weather issues the manager said he couldn't come out that week and could probably come the next week. We told him we understood bad weather putting him behind. I gave him some pretty clear information of the diameter and shape and location of the tree on the phone. He said that it sounded like he could do it either for free or it could be a hundred dollars or two hundred dollars. It also depended if he could get his machinery in. I felt good about it since it was the closest tree to the access road. But we had not heard from him all of the second week so we made to vet appointment for the last day of the week. It had been our understanding that he would do a long job for our neighbor first thing in the morning, and then, if we contracted with him, he would do our job afterwards. Now he was telling me that he wanted to do our job right away, since our land was drier than our neighbors, and he wanted to charge $400 for the tree that we had discussed on the phone. My husband and I were feeling stressed that no one from Millers Tree service had called us ahead to give us a quote based on viewing that final tree, nor mentioned what day they could to do the work. I asked if they could find a way to do our neighbor's trees first so we could get our dog's appointment taken care of and have time to talk about the job and quote with each other. The manager became angry and said that I was "questioning his integrity". I was surprised by his flair out, but we were still willing to work with him. I asked him to please call us when he was ready to finish the neighbor's tree cutting. We left after calling the vet to say we were running late. When we returned around lunch the crew was leaving and the manager was not on the job. We asked if the manager could give us a call. A worker agreed to tell him. The crew left and we called his office and the receptionist said she would have him call. When he called he still seemed angry, and said that he would not do the job, even if we paid $400 for the final tree. This was disappointing as we had had another manager of Miller Tree Service give us a quote the previous year and we felt that the crew did a really professional and timely job of taking down some really big trees. But this year this particular manager seemed to have some anger issues that kept him from getting this job done. We look forward to having this work done some day by one of the many excellent tree services in Tallahassee. read more

DO NOT USE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. The city of Tallahassee has had the corner of Tamarack Ave & Crestwood closed for construction which has been ongoing for several weeks. The city notified us well in advance of the construction and timeline for completion. This project restricted us to only access to our home from Redbud & Tamarack. Today Miller tree service blocked access to my home from Redbud & Tamarack with a large crane blocking the entire street. When I asked for the boss I was directed to the man in the crane. At first, he just ignored me, I continued to shout until he opened his door. I told him he was blocking access to my home. He stated he would be done when he got done, he was trying. He then closed the door! Without providing any estimate of when he would unblock the public street. Miller Tree Service blocked the Public street. As a resident on this street we were not informed by Miller Tree Service of any blockage would occur or any blockage had been permitted. This would have allowed us to schedule or day around the need for our neighbors to maintain their trees without unduly inconveniencing their neighbors. You can always count on Miller's for professional serviceb. Vince and his team did a great job doing storm clean-up at our house after Alberto blew through. We lost a huge limb that was wedged within a few other trees, and in spite of multiple trees down in our area Miller's was able to provide a written estimate in under 24 hours and service within 48 hours. What would have taken us days with one chain saw was cut up and hauled away in 45 minutes! These guys are polite and they ALWAYS leave your lawn in better shape than it was before the tree went down.
