If you can't make it to their farm in Concord MA. they have stands in 3 different farmer's market locations now. There is the one @ Central Square in Cambridge, another @ Union Square in Somerville & the 3rd is @ The Belmont Farmers Market. They don't bring everything to these markets but they do haul a lot of their most popular items. They showcase a wide variety of produce @ these farmers markets. All their green veggies are Exceptional & picked fresh & taste way better than you can get at any supermarket. They also have different varieties of produce that you may not have even seen or heard of before. The corn, melons, tomatoes, Basil, summer squash, zucchini, pumpkins, peppers & winter squash are real Stand outs here. Hutchins Farm is located on top of a hillside that you look down to view the crops below. The Parking is Free! They cultivate 35 acres of vegetables, about an acre of small fruit, and 8 acres of apples. In addition to their 63 acre main farm, Hutchins also rents 2 properties from the town of Concord. They also sell small vegetable plants so you can grow your own food at home too. What is not sold is donated to numerous charitable organizations. If you aren't a fan of fruits & veggies, maybe you've never tried farm fresh picked organic produce not trucked in from 3000 miles away. Maybe you've never tried produce without sprays & all sorts of chemicals & pesticides & delivered a week later to the grocery store. If you can't cook they have you covered here too with lots of fresh raw veggies you can just cut up & throw in a bowl for a delicious quick salad. At approximately 1:00 p.m., I was outside waiting for my friend while she finished making her purchases. As she walked out of the store, she tripped over a bike rack positioned along the walkway. She fell hard, injuring and bloodying her knee and scraping her hands. She was visibly shaken, and the pie she had just purchased was destroyed in the fall. I went inside to tell an employee what had happened and to ask whether the pie could be replaced. While I was speaking with the employee, my friend came inside, limping. My friend asked whether the employee had heard what had happened. Rather than expressing concern or asking whether she was okay, the employee's reaction struck both of us as surprisingly dismissive. My friend then asked whether she could have some ice for her injured knee. The employee said no and walked away. Because I was surprised by that response, I asked another employee who was stocking muffins whether he could get some ice for my friend because, I explained, she had just fallen and injured herself. He also indicated that he could not. The first employee later returned and explained that there were no more pies available, and my friend was refunded for the pie. What happened next was the strangest part of the experience. As we were leaving, the employee came after us and quietly told my friend that she would get her some ice if she promised not to tell anyone. My friend accepted the ice. I cannot explain why providing ice to an injured customer apparently needed to be done discreetly. What bothered me most was not simply that my friend fell. Accidents happen. It was the response afterward. A customer was bleeding, shaken, and asking for something as basic as ice. I would have expected someone to ask whether she was all right and to offer reasonable assistance. Instead, the response we experienced initially felt defensive and indifferent. The pie was refunded, which I appreciate. But the overall interaction left such a negative impression that I do not intend to return.

We came here for a Christmas tree and were pleasantly surprised by the selection (December 7th) of really good quality trees and lower prices compared to other places we've bought from in the past (ranging from $60-$80ish). Of note they take cash or check only, they do have an ATM, and the prices listed are a few dollars short of the actual price you'll pay. The teenagers working at the tree stand were very pleasant and got a fresh cut on the tree and strapped it to our car securely and efficiently. The turn for the worse came when we went to pay. The women was talking to us like we were children which was very odd and belittling (hard to portray tone but for example when I handed her the cash she went '$70, oh good job!') then when handing me back change she goes 'and your change to the food pantry?' and drops my change in a donation bucket before even finishing the question...I literally was reaching my hand out to receive the change and she just decided not to give it to me or let me answer the question. I was honestly pissed off about that. It's my money to choose what to do with and socially, how rude is it to put people in a position to have to fish their change out of a donation bin if they hadn't wanted to donate it? Overall, the woman at the checkout really tainted this place for me by straight up not giving me my change back and I don't plan to return.

Yes, this will cost you more than buying your EVOO at the grocery store, but it is worth it! Tips for people who said they had a bad experience or it was awkward: this is not a store you can walk into and just plunge right into it. Ask the employees how you should sample things. There was a little wait to order - it's a popular spot - but once our sandwiches were in a brown paper sack in our hands, we drove over to Walden Pond and enjoyed them there. What could be a more perfect lunch on a first visit to Concord than a great sandwich from the Concord Cheese Shop enjoyed looking out at Walden Pond?!
