Went to the sugar House one Saturday morning early in the spring. I intended to pick up a jug of syrup and go, but was immediately engaged by the owner and ended up spending half n hour learning about the house construction and processes. The house layout was updated a few years ago, and the gorgeous room in back was added - after decades of doing things in a very small space! The owner designed the addition himself and did much of the construction. The house is technically advanced in that it uses a reverse osmosis machine to efficiently remove much of the water from the raw sap, then the boil removes the final amount of water. The owner was so charismatic and friendly, that I'd recommend this place for bother adults and kids. I loved that I learned something even after dozens of trips to sugar shacks over my years. read more
