Milgard absolutely stands by its product! Had a couple of window panes that developed some hazing or marks. Thinking how long these window have been installed and remembering the word "Limited" in our warranty, I didn't pursue replacement. Then our professional window washer told its a "Limited Lifetime' warranty. So I contacted Milgard and I now have new replacement windows. Milgard employee Brooks provided "fantastic" service, including an additional window that should be replaced. I have been emailing milgard_support@milgard.com requesting for an update after the technician came out and after I texted him both the video of the water coming in through the pan into the inside of hour home via the window and of four of the windows with fog and have yet to receive a reply. I have now gone to the BBB to assist with resovling this issue. It should not have to come down to this, it is extremely dissapointing to experience a supposidly repuatable business taking advantage of consumers in this way. The reviews on their website are not refective of the reviews on Yelp because they do not allow them to post. Their responses to these negative reviews are empty. If they were sincere, people would have updated them if they actaully addressed the problems. I am seeking quotes to have all of my windows replaced by a product that is meant to last. Example, Zen Windows has a real lifetime warranty, fully transferrable and great prices. This company should be held accountable for its unethical business practices. read more

Not sure what has happened to this company. We had all of our windows replaced and loved them. We had a window "yellow" on us years ago and we called our installer and they arranged for it to be replaced. That all went like clockwork. Flash forward to a month ago when I called our installer to report another window "yellowed" and a crank out window needed service. They told me I needed to work directly with Milgard. I went on the Milgard website and filled out two service requests with all of the requested information. This includes the sales order, line number, description, measurements, etc. I wait three weeks and get an email asking for the sales order. I replied with it and reminded them that it is in the cases I created. Then I came on here and see that this seems to be the norm and I guess I will have to wait six months plus to have this repaired. I am reporting to the BBB as this is not acceptable. I expect to have the warranty honored in a reasonable timeframe. I tried calling and was put on hold for 50+ minutes before I hung up. Simply want the warranty window replaced and the crank fixed. I first filed a service request online and then was given a date that Milgard would come out to replace. With the service order number they were able to order the replacement parts prior and install in one visit. Nick B. arrived on time and was professional, courteous and worked diligently. If I could give 0 stars I would. We first purchased Milgard Windows and Doors in 2010 and had been happy with them for years. We even bought more last year during a remodel. Unfortunately, since May 2024 we've received the worst customer service. Our sliding glass door hasn't been working properly for months now. We've had 3 different service appointments get canceled the day of service and then given a new date between 1-3 months in the future. The whole process has been a complete waste of time and unfortunately still is not resolved. This is not a company I would recommend and will not use in the future. read more

This company replaced some windows in a neighborhood home. When they left, they did not secure their truck properly and deposited a huge trail of sharp broken glass along our neighborhood street and then onto connecting streets for over one mile. Calls from the neighbor who had the glass replacement and from our HOA were not responded to, despite the emergency nature of the situation. Ultimately, a team of neighbors was left to do all the cleanup over many hours of multiple days. This is an extremely sloppy and incredibly irresponsible company. Avoid like the plague. 2/3/2023 Update: after posting this review, I was contacted by the Milgard Temecula service manager, Ramone. Ramone is a good person! I can't believe this company is considered professional. The delivery of 3 out of approx 20 windows was completely wrong. I sent everything back. When they redelivered they forgot to redeliver the 3 'fixed' windows. They said they had lost them. Finally when i did get all the windows back, after instillation i noticed that on one of them the grids where nowhere near square and on most others the grids did not go all the way to the frame. Almost every grid on each window had a different sized gap where the grid ends and the frame begins. 6 weeks later i have receive my recorded appointment message from them to have them fix their amateur workmanship between 7am and 1pm. Who the hell is available at 7am? I call to reschedule. 30 minute wait to speak to someone... and so it goes on... What a joke. read more

Milgard windows' commitment to lifetime warranty is a FACT. It carries no hidden disclosures and I can attest to this. I just had my 5 windows replaced due to discoloration. When I had submitted my request for replacement through the company (Window Solutions- they're highly recommended too) I originally purchased my windows from, they took down my information and submitted to Milgard. Within the hour, I got my service request and date schedule to perform the service. The service guy, Grant was the BEST. Overall, my experience was excellent from start to finish. The response time due to Covid was several weeks, but on the appointed day the technician called to tell me that he was ahead of schedule (always a good thing) and when he arrived he had the broken window replaced in probably less than 15 minutes. He was masked up, polite, friendly, etc. I have no regrets about purchasing my (ten) Milgard windows. For those people that complain about Milgard because the warranty is only for the original purchaser... educate yourself. Don't give them a bad review because YOU failed to do your due diligence. I purchased my windows over 15 years ago. Their warranty states, "Milgard will repair or replace any defect in materials or workmanship and will pay the costs of all parts and labor for as long as the purchaser owns his home." I noticed that some of my windows got cloudy with streaks between the panes. I contacted Milgard and spoke to their warranty department and about a month later they came out and replaced all my bad windows. They have gained a customer for life. Absolutely do not buy these windows, after a couple years our milgard window glass all show swirls and fog. We thought it was just one pair but then after a couple months it showed up on all 13 of our windows. Our same Anderson windows installed at the same time have no defects. Also while contacting customer service, they don't want to honor the warranty since i was not the original purchaser of the windows (previous home owner was). And I have called them out on three occasions to replace some segments of some of the windows. Just want to say that I have always had a great experience with them. I had Milgard French Doors installed and within 1 month the mechanism that closes and locks the doors malfunctioned on both doors. I've had them out for repairs several times and they still don't work. Every time I have them come out it's minimum 30 day wait for an appointment. The doors have now been installed for 18 months and Milgard can't fix their own doors. The doors still don't work correctly. Their customer service is non-existent. I'll never buy a Milgard product again, and you shouldn't either. read more

We bought a house that had 6 Milgard double-paned windows installed about 14 years earlier, and which supposedly came with a "Lifetime" warranty. Then one night, one of the window panes shattered for no apparent reason (we caught the explosion on video -- there was no outside cause). We checked the other windows and realized that 2 of them also had lost the seals and were fogging up. That's a 50% failure rate. We filled out the online form to get the windows replaced, but there was no response until we telephoned directly. Milgard rejected our replacement request, stating that the warranty was actually only good for 10 years, and that the window style was no longer available anyway. When we told friends and neighbors about this (especially the dangerous exploding window), they shared their own Milgard horror stories -- including normal waits as long as 6 months for actual warranted work to be completed. Our only conclusion from this is that Milgard does not offer satisfactory products, and is very reluctant to stand by them when things go wrong. We also do not understand how a transfer of ownership affects the viability of a product. [Additional Note: I posted this identical review to Milgard's own review page, and it was rejected because "it did not meet all our website guidelines." Their life-time warranty sounds good... until you need it. 2 of my double pane windows starting getting a lot of moisture inside them (covered under warranty). You can't talk to anyone... must submit online... then I waited 2 1/2 months for my appointment. When they arrived, they brought the wrong windows. I called their "customer service" for California (which actually provides terrible service). They happily told me that they could bring more windows in another 3 1/2 months.... And that I go to the end of the line waiting again (even though it was 100% their mistake). I told them I already waited 2 1/2 months... and took an entire day off work because they won't tell you a time frame until later. They didn't care. They said the field workers "usually" put in the paperwork from their day within 24 hours... but if it doesn't get in... it will eventually... then "eventually" someone will call me to schedule. I just need to wait for them... who knows how long... I asked them to call the field workers and find out when the paperwork will be submitted... of course, they can't call... not how their operation works. They epitomize a company that really doesn't care at all about their service... they get enough business, they don't need to care. read more

Our patio door window has fogging between the panes. We never got around to thinking of replacing them until now and we figured there's lifetime warranty(wrong assumption). The previous owner of the home had replace another set of windows with the same problem before selling the home. Anyway, because we are not original owners, the warranty expired within 10 years of manufacturing date, so we're not covered..we should've been more proactive, but then these windows shouldn't have been defective. I will just say, since Milgard windows seems to have fogging between the panes, I've seen plenty of reviews, they're probably not the best quality windows. WORST COMPANY EVER!!! We moved into our brand new house in 2009. We were the first owner of our home and when we bought it from the bank it had been abandoned by the builder and unfinished. We put in the floors and countertops in the kitchens and bathrooms. We THOUGHT our Milgard Windows had a lifetime guarantee. When six of our double pane windows had a faulty seal, Milgard did not honor their lifetime warranty because they said we were not the original owners. It was a technicality as the builder was the original property owner but had never lived in the home. It was unfinished. Needless to say, they did not cover our replacement windows. Thanks Milgard for the warranty replacement of our windows. We had six windows that had failed in the house we just bought last year and discovered that the lifetime replacement transfers to new owners (but only covers 10 years). We were within that time frame and had six windows replaced today. Technician (Pete) came early and was polite, professional and worked fast. Only negative is that one of the windows we had listed was not on his truck, but it seems there was a mixup on the serial number info and measurements. We will call them and work that out. Good customer service, but deceptive "Lifetime" warranty. Reading through reviews, a lot of other customers are apparently frustrated with the warranty policy. I have a set of Milgard french doors with broken lock system that will cost $1600 to replace. Adriana in customer service was very patient and helped answer all my question regarding warranty and contacts for repair service. 2 stars because "lifetime" warranty applies to the original purchaser. Anyone who buys the home only has the warranty for 10 years from the manufacturing date. Thus anyone looking to buy or sell a home needs to check for applying warranty on doors and windows before buying/selling home. Also, my review was blocked from their main website, which seems like a shady effort to conceal honest negative reviews. After Milgard installed my trumped up custom ESSENCE SERIES patio door...two doors will not close. They sent me an email saying..."Hi Nancy, thank you for requesting Milgard's services. A representative will contact you within 24 hours to schedule an appointment with our technicians". I NEVER contact them for services. I demanded they do the door over, do it right or refund my money so I can move on with anther company. They didn't like that at all and from that point on things went sour and very aggressive. Milgard and their middleman have my downpayment and told me to expense my mistakes since I refused their services. They refused to acknowledge the woodwork on their Essence Series is a joke, the swing wasn't what I had agreed to with their middleman as it's clearly not functional and impossible to fix as it's one unit. The doorhandles and hinges color and style wasn't what I picked out, removing it will leave more markings and scratches on top of dings and dents. The doors will not close properly if/when new hinges are in. The stain job is horrific, clearly not done by a professional licensed stainer. read more

We recently bought many Milgard ULTRA 650 fiberglass casement and awning windows and to our surprise most of them have serious issues. The bottom frame is badly cracked on many of them and the hinge mechanism is warped with loose screws that in some instances come right our of the frame. Milgard says this has never happened but we find it hard to believe Has anybody else experienced this? read more

We purchased them via a company by the name of the, "Window Guys" ( stay clear of this company also ) they have no idea how to install the product and they are fraudulent and lie just to get you to sign their contract. Milgard responded to our complaint regarding our window issues that we represented previously. Their response/guidance (Hannah G) was to reach out to their online site and/or the phone number listed. We have done both. No luck with the phone number but we were able to leave comments online regarding our issues. Milgard responded with a case number but stated that it may take several weeks to process our request and contact us (I obviously have saved that email). There is a code of the west that states you should "say what you do and do what you say". There is another saying advising; "don't pi-- down my back and tell me it's raining". A warranty (lifetime or otherwise) is not worth the paper it's written on if the company does not follow through in a timely manner. read more
