Miki is a great spot for fresh and tasty Japanese food. We like to get the Dinner for Two which comes with salad, soup, sushi, sashimi, tempura, udon, teriyaki, and a special roll. The restaurant is small and there is sometimes a queue during the peak dinner hours. Parking is very difficult and you may need to park at the neighboring parking spots (but avoid the dry cleaners lot to the left).
For many years, MiKi Sushi has been a favourite local spot in the Markham/Unionville area for their fresh and delicious Japanese and Korean dishes. They are always on the lookout to offer new seasonal specials to bring new takes into their dishes. All their seasonal dishes highlight their creativity and use of locally sourced ingredients to ensure each customer receives the best quality experience, whether it is for a dine in or take out experience. I always look forward to my visit and I cannot wait to go back!
What a lovely local place. We were passing by the area and decided to stop for lunch. Located on Hwy 7, just west of Kennedy, this is not a big place. Parking is right in front and spots are limited. Lots of options on the menu from your standard sushi, rolls, sashimi and even some Korean dishes (dolsot bibimbap). There is a decent list of lunch specials. There was one server but service was quick and attentive). We ordered a bulgogi kimchi fries, small sushi and sashimi tray and a chicken katsu don. Sashimi was fresh and pieces were generous in size. The kimchi fries were sprinkled with bulgogi and topped with kimchi, slivers of seaweed and a drizzle of mayonnaise. Would make a good appetizer with a beer. A small serving of noodle soup and salad were served first and then another bowl of miso soup arrived just before the dishes. Towards the end of the meal we were given a complementary dish of spicy gyoza, which were more sweet and sour than spicy but still delicious. All in all a good experience. We would come again if in the area.
I can't begin to tell you how many times hubby & I drove by this spot and didn't stop in. Curiosity got the best of me and I checked out their website and online reviews and soon after, we had our first visit. Tucked away within a strip of stores on Highway 7 right near Main Street Unionville is where you will find Miki Sushi. It is a small restaurant, parking is limited and very limited, but worth looking for to eat here. Our first visit, we were overwhelmed by the large sushi menu. Our intention was to try out the Bento Boxes, which already include sushi. After much consideration, we decided to forgo getting any rolls or sushi and just stick with what was included with our lunch. This was our first order: Perfect Lunch Bento Box $26 - which includes your choice of chicken/beef/salmon teriyaki and 3pcs California roll, 3pcs tempura, 3pcs sushi, 3pcs sashimi - miso soup,salad and rice are also included Agedashi Tofu - deep fried tofu with teriyaki sauce - large pieces of deep fried tofu, perfectly battered and crispy. *Green Dragon Roll Before our bento boxes arrived , we were brought 2 small bowls of crunch noodle soup and our salads. The soup is, homemade broth with noodles, tempura crunch and green onions. This has become a fav soup for me, I will get takeout and order this soup for myself or kids when any of us have colds. *With all the confusion on deciding what to order, our server thought we had decided to order Green Dragon Rolls. We apologized for the confusion, but felt it was too much food. We felt bad and said to add it to our bill and we would take it home. Our server insisted that the rolls were on the house, free for us to try. Chicken & beef teriyaki were grilled, very tender and generous portions, served on a bed of fresh mixed vegetables. Their sushi and sashimi is some of the freshest I have ever tried - very good quality! We did bring this to our servers attention. They were happy to let us know, that the fish is brought in fresh daily. We loved everything! They have an impressive variety of sushi, rolls & udon. We have also tried their grilled mackerel, Kalbi, sushi platters for parties, crunch noodle soup, hand rolls etc. Cant decide what to order? They have a wall mounted tv with videos playing showing some of their menu items and how they are made. It does get busy fairly often as it is not a large restaurant. Does this affect the service, of course it does, but we have never been left waiting long and the odd time we have, they have acknowledged it, apologized and brought us complimentary items while we waited for our food. Since that first visit, Miki Sushi has become our primary spot for sushi and teriyaki in York Region. We are there at least 3-4 times per month plus order takeout occasionally. Hubby loves it, kids love it - win win all around! Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. *Side note, I do agree with some of the other reviews, the pieces of sashimi/sushi have gotten smaller. I noticed this between my first visit from March to just last week. The prices recently went up and I noticed that the cuts for the sushi & sashimi are not as thick as they used to be and also smaller in size. Very noticeable considering most of us take pics throughout various visits.
Im a regular here and avid fan of this place since opening. However, the sushi in recent years have gone from big pieces ( they're known for) to smaller and smaller everytime single time I visit. We ordered the sashimi sushi roll platter for more than 4 years consistently and the slices of the sashimi keeps becoming thinner and thinner. They usually give salads and noodle as a starter free side dish, but this time I came (from 2 weeks ago) with my family, they only gave us 4 noodle side dish and 2 salads and 2 miso soup, even though there were 4 people. I know this isn't much, but I've been coming for years and each time per head count was given the side dishes regardless of how much we ordered. I'm not being petty, but this cost them next to nothing to provide the extra 2 salads and 2 miso soup that could've easily made a customer happy. It was awkward on how to spilt the salad and miso soup because of this. Unfortunately quality has gone down and prices has gone up. This sushi restaurant used to be my fave but this will no longer be one of the top unless they start bringing the quality and stop skimping out on the sushi.
This Japanese restaurant located in unionville provides sushi, sashimi, torch pressed sushi, rolls, udon, lunch combos etc. I came here on the way to a yelp elite event nearby and decided to try their lunch takeout. We ordered the rainbow pressed sushi and over the rainbow roll. The food was average quality. The rice was way too big for the torched pressed sushi (almost twice as big as many other places). It was not pressed very well, being very easy to break apart. The over the rainbow roll tasted mediocre. Again, there was too much rice inside. Overall, you can feel quite filling at an okay price here if you don't care about the delicacy of the food.
Not a big fan of these styrofoam boxes used for takeout but Miki Sushi does serve up some good food. I ordered two combos: 1. SPICY SALMON COMBO, which includes spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy california roll, spicy dynamite roll, and spicy yam roll. This was a standout menu item for me and it had to be the first thing I tried here since I absolutely love a good spicy roll. Their spicy mayo did have a slight kick to it but I definitely could've taken more. My favorite roll was surprisingly the yam roll! It was deliciously sweet and crunchy ($27). 2. LOVE SALMON COMBO here is quite different from other restaurants which would typically serve up salmon maki, nigiri, and sashimi for their salmon lovers combo; but here, it includes salmon roll, spicy salmon roll, and red dragon roll ($30). Personally, I preferred the spicy combo. Overall, all the items were fresh and flavorful, portions were good, and the ratio of fish-to-rice was good too. They didn't skimp on the soy sauce/ginger/wasabi/cutlery either. Bonus: discount when you pay with cash!
We love to try new sushi places and although this restaurant has been around for a little bit, it was our first visit. The parking lot is super tiny so there is very limited spots. We were lucky to find a spot right out front. The customer service is excellent and the food is good. We came here for lunch on a Saturday. There were a few tables already occupied when we arrived just before noon. We ordered the salmon lover set (it's available for dinner and lunch), shrimp tempura - lightly battered and SO fresh and crispy, the sushi and sashimi lunch and chicken Donburi. The lunch set meals come with salad and miso soup. We also ordered the Hot Love roll. That was really good and the roll was BIG!! Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and would come back to try other rolls and dishes. They have an extensive menu. It was hard to decide what we wanted. Everything looked good.
Take out review: Parking is tough and limited, never mind the winter snow banks! Highly recommended to arrive with time to spare to wait for a spot if ordering during prime time rush hour. It's a plaza quick off highway 7, so this will deter many but with patience and luck it's manageable. Fast and punctual, they prefer to bring it out to you to decrease congestion inside. They all seem very friendly on the phone and at pick up. Sushi is good, taste is flavourful, ingredients all fresh, wasabi was the perfect amount of heat. The Tuna sashimi was a beautiful deep red and right amount of thickness. Fish tasted fresh, the rice was nicely seasoned, and perfect texture. Salmon and Tuna lovers combo is perfect, just enough to satisfy for dinner. Salad side had juicy plump iceberg lettuce and tomatoes and thin cucumbers. Maybe it's because I haven't seen a salad since the summer, but this one looked yummy. Beef teriyaki was tender, grilled medium and sliced finely, the bed of sauté bean sprouts, zucchini and peppers were very flavourful. Just one broccoli for colour probably, which made the kids happy. Very happy here, on my top sushi restaurant rotation.
Small, cozy Japanese & Korean restaurant in the neighborhood. They have good quality food and plenty of selections. I have been ordering from this hidden gem for a few years now, and they never disappoint. My favorite is the Miki lobster roll, but this time, I wanted to try something else. The tempura was excellent, and the sushi was tasty. The food portion is good enough for 2 people. Excellent service and prices are affordable. Nice cozy little restaurant where it used to be an Italian restaurant and now a sushi place. I ordered sashimi with rice (sorry I forgot the proper name). The fish assortments are ok not the best but it's good. The rice is cool well firm but not raw or soggy. We also ordered the eel with egg a Korean dish, is disappointing I find it on the spicy side. Food is decent will try some more on my next visit. read more
Happy combo can never go wrong. We always have leftovers for 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids). Usually it comes with miso soup or free dumplings . I guess cause it's Mother's Day weekend so freebies, and they are soooo busy. Quality is always good. Recommend :) read more
Woooweyy what a deal. I came here once to try it out with a friend and I just had to return. This time I got takeout and with a bonus of 15% off for their grand opening special!! (FOOD): I got the salmon pressed aburi sushi and man oh man was it good. The sauce is nice and the torched flavour gives it a nice smokey flavour. I also got the dynamite roll which was large and flavorful. This place also gave me a bonus of 4 rolls!!! At no extra expense! It was a California roll with a spicy sauce on it. Delicious!! (PRICE): Such a good price! Regardless of the discount; the PRESSED SALMON ABURI SUSHI was only $11! For 6 pieces! And the DYNAMITE ROLL was only $8 for 5 pieces. (SERVICE): Amazing (OVERALL:) a lovely experience. Staff are very nice. Rolls are cheap and delicious and the extra discount and free rolls really made a difference and led me to write this review. We decided to get there med sushi platter plus roll, they were quite fast and the sushi was really fresh which is important or else you'll get sick lol, inside was pretty packed but we took take out, I typically don't eat sushi because it has a lot of white rice today I made an exception, the spicy salmon tasted amazing, and the tuna sashimi was delicious as well, the food speaks for itself I probably won't come back after a year because if I keep eating this I'll become obese lol, this is big enough for four people 100 percent, read more

York region on red zone. We called to book an appointment. Limit of 10 dine in. We are the only customers but the place is very busy for take outs. I can see line up of Uber/skip the dishes drivers and others for take out. The food was good. Reasonable price. Friendly staff. read more

MiKi sushi has some of the best sushi in town. I couldn't decide on which rolls to get, so I definitely over-ordered. I really loved the pre-sushi soup. It was so refreshing and made me longing for more. All of the sushi was high quality and the staff were very friendly. Restaurant definitely gets busy during dinner time though, so I went a little before the rush. read more
I've been coming to this spot a couple of times now, and I've come to believe it's one of the best sushi spots in town. Their quality has been consistent, and is the reason why I'll have to keep coming back. The 38 piece Sushi + Roll Tray (Small): This is their smallest tray, and it easily feeds 2-3 people. At the center is where you'll find the rolls. 6 California, 6 Spicy Salmon, and 5 Dynamite rolls. Around the rolls are your sushi pieces. 8 Salmon, 4 Shrimp, 3 Tilapia, 3 BC Tuna, and 3 Red Tuna sushi. Sushi is one of those foods that easily focuses on the quality of the ingredients, and let me tell you, Miki Sushi gives it their best every time. It's slightly firm, fresh, and ironically doesn't taste "fishy". I love how there isn't any filler pieces like Cucumber or Avocado rolls which makes them stand out from the rest of the competition. They're generous with each sushi piece, especially the salmon sushi. They put a generous slab of salmon hanging over sushi rice, and you're sent to sushi heaven every time with each piece. In terms of condiments, they give you plenty of soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger. They're located in a very slim strip of shops along Highway 7, so I highly advise to always call in whether that be trying to get a spot for sit-in or take-out. It's hard to get in and out especially on rush hour times. They only have about 3-4 parking spaces, so it's a bit tricky trying to get into. But for their quality of sushi, I say it's worth the fight. Think about it this way: Struggling for the food makes it taste even better! I'm nitpicking here but one critique I have is with their dynamite roll. Understandably, the dynamite roll is larger than the other rolls but tends to be a little loose. If it can be rolled a little tighter that would be amazing. It sometimes breaks apart, when you try to dip it in the soy sauce. I highly recommend getting take out from Miki Sushi. Other then the minor flaw at the beginning, the overall experience is good. They quickly replaced the soya sauce soaked menu once I notify a waiter. We order tempura dinner, bulgogi dinner, and a small sashimi sushi tray. We've only 4 people for the dinner, however our waiter didn't warn us that the tray is meant for 3 to 4 people. I guess I should have ask before ordering. The tempura dinner has a generous portions. Bulgogi is nothing special. The seafood for the tray is fresh, and very nicely presented. They go the extra mile to use Alfalfa sprouts, deep fried green onion and other types of eatables for garnish. I actually like eating the garnishes too.... So the off norm garnishing is appreciated. Too bad I didn't have the time to snap a few photos of the food. Btw you need to bring your vaccination proof. read more

Ordered via mobile and it was a seamless experience. I ordered the love salmon combo and I thought it was tasty -- good flavor. It also came with a freebie side dish gyoza (thanks!!). I thought it was gonna be mushy but it was still nice and crispy. The time to prepare my order was quick, probably because I ordered around 2 pm on a weekday but hey I'm not gonna complain about efficient service. Miki Sushi is a small Korean run Japanese restaurant at Markham. It is at the street plaza at Hwy 7 near Kennedy Road. The parking is very limited, but if you are going for dinner, you can park in front of other stores after they are closed. We ordered a small sashimi platter, aburi sushi set and spicy seafood udon. 40 pieces of sashimi are clearly thicker cut than most other Japanese restaurants. Aburi torch sushi has 8 different types of fish including scallop, shrimp and squid. The spicy seafood udon has alot of seafood and kimchi, but it is very spicy. As a person who can eat very spicy, I really like the soup. I cannot wait to try something else next time as they have a extensive menu. read more

Very few parking spaces. Inside is dark and a big stuffy. Food was average. Nothing stood out. The pressed sushi would fall apart once you try to grab it with your chopsticks - very messy. Had the lobster roll but didnt get any actual lobster pieces. Dont see the need to come back. read more
Nice little sushi place that has a variety of Korean and japanese food, few parking spots in front of the store. Staff here was very nice, they all greet you when you enter and exit, shouting a japenese greeting. Came here around 5 pm, and it was quiet but eventually more people came in. We order the king lobster roll, volcano and hot love roll. The service here was really good oh, they were attentive and checking on us often, to ensure we have everything we needed. The rolls came with a small bowl of miso soup and noodles. And they even brought us and every table a complimentary deep fried tofu. The rolls were good but nothing amazing and it was definitely better than the quality of ayce sushi The rolls were big and definitely filling and more than enough for two people read more

Went there for late dinner like after 9pm and glad they still let us in even thou the staffs are eating dinner. Got a few rolls and tempura dinner set. Overall, the experience was good with friendly staffs and good food. Tried their King Lobster Roll, Legend Dynamite Roll, and Hot Love Roll. They are all very tasty and not a lot of rice which is great so you won't get stuff by too much rice. May try again for some of their other rolls as their rolls selection is big. Hope this place will keep up and maintain their quality. Also, it was nice that they gave us a takoyaki dish on the house and there is tako inside and the batter isn't bad! Absolutely amazing. From service to food, this small sushi restaurant exceeds all expectations. I had a craving for maki rolls and decided to stop by miki sushi. And I was so glad I did. My boyfriend and I ordered the Happy Roll Combo along with the torched salmon pressed sushi. The pressed sushi was $11 and came in 6 pieces. A bit expensive but definitely worth for its taste. The combo includes was $46 that includes 4 rolls, and we did not expect the rolls to be that big. They were HUMONGOUS but absolutely delicious! Needless to say, we did not finish. Our waiter was super friendly and constantly checked in on us, and asked for feedback near the end of our meal which was nice. Left with full and happy tummies. Absolutely recommend and will be back for more! read more

My dad and I decided to give this place a try since it's very close to home. We got the dinner for 2 for $50 and it came with sashimi/sushi (18pcs), choice of teriyaki, choice of special roll and tempura + udon. I thought it was a very good deal considering a sushi dinner is already $20 and the special roll that we got was worth $17 (lobster roll) and we got to try a variety of food. It was definitely A LOT of food and we got to pack some leftovers :) Overall, the food tasted great! Everything was fresh and nicely presented and the service was excellent as well. The only downside is that the restaurant is located on the very busy highway 7 and parking might be a struggle. Also, the restaurant itself is quite small and it can get very loud when it is full. Nonetheless, I will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu! read more
A great new restaurant and addition to Markham. Sushi was fresh. Tempura was crispy. Special rolls were awesome. We went as a party of 10. Restaurant was not that big. Tables were connected to make room for the 10 of us. The menu was quite extensive. Ranging from special rolls, to donburi, to sushi platters, udon and teriyaki. The restaurant was quite busy for a Wednesday weekday dinner. Complementary appetizers consisted of the miso soup, salad and noodles with broth which was new and different. Salad dressing could have been less vinegary. 6 pieces of tempura was $12. Was nice and hot. Food came out in a timely manner. The seafood udon soup looks super spicy but it was ok. Broth was rich tasting. Udon was chewy. Came with a good amount of seafood. Chirashi was basically hae du bap. Made with salad greens and cut up sashimi. One of the better hae du baps I have had. Special rolls were good. Other wise their basic sushi was nothing special. Could have done without. Overall if coming to this restaurant stick to their special rolls. They are quite good. And also have special roll combos which make it even worth your money. Service was good. There was only 1 server and 2 sushi chefs. Not sure how bad it would be when they have a rush or when this restaurant gets more busy and popular. read more
Nice new budget sushi restaurant dubbed as the sister restaurant of Hub Sushi. They have an extensive list of rolls - raw, BBQ, deep fried, comparable to Mi-Ne sushi on Woodbine. Portions here are huge making it good value! Downside during my visit was the rice was on the mushier side and rolls were well covered in sauce which isn't my preference. We ordered the Ocean Dream, Lobster King and Torch Rainbow Dragon rolls. The last two were cooked rolls and had a similar spicy sauce. Ocean Dream was a tasty raw roll with salmon and tuna, topped with tobiko! Everything was well presented. The prices of rolls are a few dollars cheaper than Mi-Ne, yet the restaurant is small, the vibe is casual (similar to a Chinese diner) and parking spots are limited in the plaza. I would still recommend a try here and their take-out options! read more
Great new sushi restaurant in Markham! Staff was amazing! So welcoming and made sure our table was cleared and tea was filled. Checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Food was superb! Presentation was amazing! I felt that each piece of sushi was made with care. Sushi was not overstuffed with rice. Fish was fresh. It gets better! They even surprised us with takoyaki on the house! Just had to deduct marks on the miso soup - it was overly salty and the background music was a tad too loud. Getting in and out of the plaza can be challenging and parking might be an issue consider there are a few eateries along the strip. But don't let this deter you from paying them a visit. read more

The rolls here are really great! They are super fresh and there are lots of unique rolls on the menu. We had the Kanu on Fire, California, Legend Dynamite and Salmon Lover's. Our group also ordered the bibimbap and chicken katsu. On a different visit I've also tried the Island and Victoria rolls. The food has been great each time, the Kani On Fire was our favourite, it is torched on top and is very fragrant and flavourful. The service was AMAZING. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. She was great with checking on how we were doing and always made sure that we were happy with our meals. We also got to try their kimchi and the complimentary noodle soup was a great appetizer. read more

Ever tried a pairing of lobster in sushi? Interestingly enough, @mikisushito offers just that and many more innovative sushi rolls. Miki Sushi is located in a very remote area that is beside Mainstreet Unionville; however, this is definitely not a place to be overlooked. This lobster roll includes not only lobster tempura, but torched salmon, yam tempura, avocado, crab meat, AND cucumber with that. The roll was EXTREMELY filling and it was definitely one of my preferred sushi rolls. Pricewise, I don't know if the sushi is worth it because the lobster taste was a little subtle... otherwise, a very satisfying experience . I didn't try too much of the Salmon Pressed Sushi but I really enjoyed the torched flavour; the roll was above par. . Service was SUPER friendly and helpful; I appreciate the consistent checking up and water refills. Will definitely come back! read more

This spot opened up near us not that long ago. It's located on a strip mall right on Highway 7, in what can be considered a busy area. Despite the traffic and having not the easiest parking lot to get in and out of, we decided to try. It was a busy night, but we were seated within 5 minutes. All of the servers, and even chefs, greeted us immediately as we walked in. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We ordered quite a bit of food, thinking the portions wouldn't be that generous. Boy, were we wrong! Also, the menu does have a pretty large list of rolls, so it took some time to decide what we wanted. We ordered the volcano roll ($14) - absolutely delicious. Huge rolls and fresh ingredients. We also ordered the Love Salmon Combo ($23) which included spicy salmon maki, red dragon roll, and salmon roll. This was well worth it. The tempura appetizer was well done and also a huge portion. The interior of the restaurant is not over the top or crazy fancy but it seems clean and cozy, which is all you really need if the sushi is right. Prices are pretty standard and comparable to other sushi places in the area. 100% will be coming back. read more

The sashimi here is super fresh, especially the salmon. I even like the snapper and white tuna here (I normally don't like it anywhere else except for in Japan). The tako octopus was so good and on the sweet side, just how I like it. The sushi had just the right ratio of rice to sashimi and the rice even had enough vinegar; I find that a lot of places don't have enough vinegar in the rice. We later added an order of unagi rolls and it was the best decision ever. The eel was fresh and on the soft side, unlike the ones on the black dragon rolls. They were pretty generous on the eel portions in the roll as well. Oh and forgot to mention the great service. The only down side is the sweet shrimp, there's little parking space and it's hard to park. But honestly it's worth it. I would dock half a star but there's no option on yelp, lol. read more

Extremely poor quality and presentation, very disappointing as I have been their customer for quite some time. Understand hard time for biz but should at least ensure freshness. Ordered today three rolls for, toppings flimsy and stale, tempura shrimp inside soggy. Look like overnight leftovers. Even T&T supermarket's of fresher quality. read more
My friends and I really enjoyed Miki! They had great customer service and were very accommodating to our table. The sushi was fresh with perfectly ripened avocados. We ordered a lot of different apps and rolls to list out, but each and every dish was super tasty and were really generous portions too. Will definitely be coming back here. read more

Was just driving by and noticed they were now open. It's only been opened for a week now, so it's fairly new. Went with a friend and ordered their Sashimi + Sushi + Rolls platter. First of all, the presentation was great. Everything looked really good. This is not AYCE stuff, the quality was definitely beyond our expectations. The staff seems a bit nervous, but they were trying their best. They did their best to make us feel comfortable. 10* for the effort. Small portion of noodle soup and salad was offered in the house. The noodle soup was very clean and bits of tempura crunch added makes it pretty good. The salad was ok, nothing special. Chef offered Takoyaki and it is a must try. Iriana and I wanted to try a new place close to work. First of all, location is horrible. Along a stretch of hwy 7, barely any parking; a couple spots in the front and a couple spots behind the restaurant. Sushi itself was pretty good, although very overpriced for what you get. I went to wash my hands before my meal and it smelt like something died in the washroom. We probably won't be back here as there are other, better options. read more

DON'T GO!! THIS IS A SCAM!!! The lobster roll is the worst ever!! Look how much tempura batter I picked out from one slice of sushi! There is only a tiny bit of lobster in the sushi and you're charging $20 for that? It's totally a scam! I also ordered the unagi kimchi roll and they put way too much rice! The miki lunch is the most worth it for $18 you get vegetable udon, salad, tempura, three Cali roll pieces and three sushi pieces plus two small spring rolls. They don't have traditional miso soup it's a broth with cold noodles inside. The only downside is the wait time for service. This could be because it's new and they haven't worked out their kinks yet. Also the location of the store is not ideal for parking. Overall Mi Ki Sushi is a great addition to the sushi scene in Markham. Good quality; fresh fish with plenty of options and fair prices. We came here with a rather large group and I have to say it was rather on the snug side and that they mostly have smaller tables. Just something to consider. Food wise, everything was really good. A couple of notes, areas of improvement though. Good quality as I said before, the nigiri sushi and rolls didn't contain too much rice. Sushi is fresh, mostly melt-in-your-mouth. The presentation if really nice here, I like the plates they use here, although they're a tad big for the table! I did notice some of the rolls were a bit heavily sauced: namely sweet and soy flavors coming through, so I didn't feel the need to use soy sauce too much. Maybe a cutback could be used. They seem to really do a lot of aburi/blow torched here. So when we ordered the sashimi dinner and the platter which contained the nigiri sushi, there was aburi present. The nigiri aburi was tasty; I really liked the snapper and salmon being blowtorched and there was only a couple of them like that, so it wasn't too overwhelming.The sashimi however, seemed to have more. Except, it was placed on the grill. The albacore tuna and the butterfish didn't work too well like this, and I recommend them serving those as is. The only downside is the location of this place, we came early for dinner and there was no problems with the parking, but I can see it being hectic during prime dinner time. read more
