Winters Auto & Truck Repair & Detailing

Winters Auto & Truck Repair & Detailing

(1 review)

Was recommended to Winters Auto by a family member, for any auto service need. Let me tell you;…read moreFirst time going was actually pleasant I had them replace my timing belt and do a initial State inspection to see what all I needed to get my car to pass. The technician gave me a punch list of 3-4 solid items which was written on a piece of paper for me. Mainly suspension stuff and a couple welds which I had to take somewhere else to get done first. I did wait a few weeks to get it into the fabrication shop but immediately called Winters after to schedule a time to bring my car down to take care of the rest of our punch list. So, I bring my car down the night I was told to and handed the technician the piece of paper he hand wrote out himself with the work that was to be done and I left. I figured they would be working on it for a few weeks, so left it alone. Four weeks later I'm assuming it must be close if not done by then... called down and to my shock I was told that they hadn't even touched it yet! Due to them, "needing to work on other vehicles for their sales lot." It would take another 3 weeks or so before they 'got around' to working on my car and completing the few items I needed to pass State inspection. The bill $650 that was authorized to be done out-the-door and an additional $300 for just brake pads I was going to do myself given they only cost like $30(for that they should have replaced rotors and calipers too)! By this time it was the beginning of winter, but I was happy to get my car back nonetheless. Now, not even a week goes by and my coolant reservoir or hose area bursts(first day it was sub-zero) while at Sav-a-Lot! Called down to Winters, when I was finally able to get it home, to see how/why this happened? They flat out said they "weren't legally obligated to tell me there was only water in the coolant reservoir". So again the car sat for about 2 weeks or so until we could get a tow-truck to bring it down to Winters Auto, again. And again they had it for another 3 weeks(in their defense it was the Holidays at this point), finally we got a call to say it was done. I assumed my problems were over. Drove it once to Wal-Mart and now it overheated on the way back home. I let it sit for about 2-3 days and today, I just took it to the Post Office and on the way back home its overheating! I'm completely done with Winters Auto. Every time we brought it in they gave it back with something else wrong and not in a professional or timely manner. What was supposed to be a few welds and some suspension work has turned into an all out shit show. Anyway, just wanted to share my experience.
