***AVOID AT ALL COSTS*** I hired Mike and his assistant (sister I believe?) over 2 years ago.. huge mistake! I had hired him to install a light fixture, mount a Dyson charger to the wall and 2 light fixtures in the bedroom. Within a couple days the Dyson fixture fell out of the wall, both light fixtures crooked and falling out within a week. Turns out he didn't use plugs or anything and tried to mount these things loose in the drywall. On top of that the main light fixture in the kitchen was crooked as well. I reached out to Mike and he had promised to come fix it and correct the mistakes, he then started no showing and cancelling our made appointments. It got to the point where he was saying he would come at a specific time and date and would just no show without a phone call or email. After months of back and forth he finally blocked my number. After getting a hold of his sister or whoever it may be (through a different number) she promised to have him reach out, when he did yet again another no show! They then promised to reimburse me for the initial flat rate + hourly I paid for 2 people.. that never happened and once again blocked and ignored my calls. 2 years later I've been completely ripped off, my walls damaged and then my time wasted by Mike. Avoid at all costs as this was a complete nightmare. read more

The guy never showed up! We had settled on a day for him to come to our office to hang a whiteboard - he said he forgot and that my response got lost in a flood of emails. He suggested an alternative day -and he still never arrived. Not even an email has to why he didn't bother to show up. We are an office at Yonge/King - right in the downtown core. Two outta the five emails he responded to. I needed basic stuff like hanging etc. I pursued cuz he's reasonably priced. He text me late evening suggests coming in the morning, so I basically after work I stayed up till 5am preparing for his arrival. Then he emails again rescheduled for two hours later. Needless to say he emailed me at basically the time he was supposed to show up and claimed he couldn't make it due to "family issue" with no follow up etc.. I sent my understanding and my request when he may reschedule -its twelve hours later and still nothing. Clearly this company is lacking professionalism and is also suffering with the majority of other handymen in the city with, "family issues." I hope all their families are taken care of, so they can also handle their businesses in a professional matter and foremost, Respect People's Time! Great glad your a good father, we all bear our crosses. Being a mega international company has nothing to do with good business practise or acumen. I'll be going in a different direction... Excellent. Responded quickly. Arrived punctually. Took his shoes off at the door (without being asked). Swept up the mess after hanging pictures. Made great suggestions when I wasn't sure where to hang things. Worked very quickly. Was friendly and pleasant the whole time. Could not recommend Mike more highly. Mike is seriously the nicest dude ever. Yesterday was the last day of the month and today is Canada Day, so I knew it would be tough finding someone to help me uninstall my water ionizer at 4pm on June 30th. My original guy had bailed on me, so I called about 17 handymen in sheer desperation and Mike was the only one who called back. He was over within the hour and did the quickest, most efficient and yet professional job. I know he really went out of his way to help because he was hanging out with a friend and then had a dinner party to throw later that night... But he said he heard the panic in my voice-- which he certainly did-- I had to be out of the house by midnight! Anyway, I will DEFINITELY be calling Mike again... you should too-- he is the BEST!! read more

Followed instructions to contact via email, which I did. Got no response, similar to a bunch of other reviewes. Scrolling thru his reviews, he comments on my review that "he doesn't deal with bedbugs"! My request and my house have nothing to do with bedbugs. What can I say about Mike, that hasn't been said already. I found Mike on Yelp a year ago when I was looking for someone to assemble a huge kitty condo. Mike came, he saw, he conquered and he asked if there was anything else I needed help with-wow! Fast forward to almost a year later, I'm moving in a couple months and the kitty condo has to go to make room for storage. I couldn't remember who assembled the condo initially so I yelped and got someone who lives nearby, and his price was $90. I thought this was rather steep, so I continued my search and found Mike again-yay! Mike once again, came, saw, conquered and asked if there was anything else...this time there was-my cable/tv weren't working. Mike found the unplugged cable and boom, I'm back in business. When it came time to pay, he says just give me $50, I gave him $60. I wish I could take him to Atlanta with me. read more

Excellent! Mike clearly shows knowledge, and that he cares about the result. I had built a few bookshelves and needed Mike's help for a project I had in mind with them. He immediately noticed that I had built several of them incorrectly and pointed that out to me and insisted in fixing it for me. My nature of "don't want to bother others" I said it was okay to leave it like that but he insisted and it felt good because anyone else would just go with it, get the job done, and get out. The price is really good if you compared to competitors and the end result, and he is quick to respond! I have made 3 attempts to reach this company to get a quote for some work (2 emails as per their process, and another through Yelp) and they do not respond. It has now been over 2 weeks since my first inquiry and I have not heard from them. Further, they do not answer the phone...... I obviously can't comment on their work, but their response time is terrible. Perhaps they have too much work and don't have time to take on more. Response to Mike's comment below: Thanks for your response. However, all 3 inquiries stated it was for my rental condo in the downtown core, not Stouffville. Wow. Everyone isn't wrong, there's a reason for his 5 stars. I'm a hard marker, and I wish I had 6. I had a flood in my rental unit, and had to move immediately to repair the floors. The TV wall mount was way too heavy for me to handle alone, and I didn't have the right tools. He was over within 2 hours, and went above and beyond... which I suspect is just a personality trait. The work itself was probably very easy and straight-forward, but Mike himself was amazing: personable, friendly, safe, and helped me carry my TV to my new place. He also took a look at the wall I wanted to move it to and gave me recommendations as he didn't have time to stay to install (he told me before, but generously over-stayed by nearly an hour just to help me out). I don't doubt his ability to do way more. Would recommend, and have already scheduled a repeat tomorrow to get the TV up at the new place. Mike was incredible. I've found my go-to, my only hope is that he continues to have time to help me out. Reading through his Yelp, it's clear he's the best and most recommended in DT Toronto. I was shocked that he was actually that awesome. Actual stars: 6/5. Better than I could have imagined, and I'll throw myself personally behind supporting his efforts. read more

I love Mike! He was great to work with and came one afternoon to do a huge list of odd jobs - mounted my tv and hid the wires, changed light switches, fixed a bunch of handles on cabinet drawers, hung a curtain rod, changed a toilet seat... Etc I can't remember them all but I know that I was quite surprised when he told me the cost at the end. I couldn't believe he had done 20+ jobs in 3 hours. I also really appreciated that mike was clear on the one thing I asked for that he was not comfortable doing (plumbing) -- that's rare. Very good value. I will be calling him again soon! read more

Mike is absolutely amazing. Had a small scale interior paint job I needed to be done​ quickly and boy did Mike come through! People often say "do you want it fast, or do you want it good?" -- Mike is living proof that you can have both, and at a ​reasonable price. He brings all his own gear, has an eye on even the small​ details and leaves no mess when it's all said and done. I'm always hesitant about bringing strangers into my home to do work, but at no point did I ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable with Mike. Mike is a total people person. I called several contractors and companies before Mike. No one bothers to return my call or they would give me ridiculous quotes without looking. When you are looking for someone to help and you don't know the quality of work. Internet is the only way to find out. Lucklily yelp didn't lie this time Mike came to my apartment, accessed the damage and explained to me what he would be doing. He gave me options and the second day he came and fixed without any delay. I am lucky he would agree to help and the work is perfectly done. Immediately i refer him to real estate friends. Mike is not your average handyman. First off- he's quite internet savvy. His website(s) are optimized for google so you won't have trouble landing on his site. For this reason, he has strong spam filters on his emails- took me a little bit of poking to finally get through to him. But when I finally did he was great. He showed up dressed very professionally and was very social and friendly. As a single woman living alone, you may be wary to let a strange man into your home- but you can feel completely comfortable calling Mike. He is very professional and he won't give you any creepy vibes, he'll make you feel right at home. I had him here for 3 hours doing random ikea assemblies and stray tasks. It was such a relief to get the job done professionally and not have to worry about obsessing over confusing manuals for hours- Mike is fast and efficient and well worth the price you pay for the job. I decided to try Mike after reading great reviews on Yelp. I sent an email and he quickly responded. I was looking to freshen up my living space with new paint and update a few fixtures and furniture. Mike asked me to send a few pictures and he quoted me an approximate on the spot and then set an appt within the next few days to come in person. I did my research and quoted quite a few places and he is hands down the best. On the day he was scheduled to come, he arrived exactly on time, even sent a quick note that he was on his way. He works fast - completed my living space, washroom, kitchen, stairwell, light fixture, hanging pictures, and helped me assemble some furniture, in 6 hours. He even pointed out other items that needed fixing and promptly fixed them with my permission. Within the next few days he followed up and came back for minor touch ups. This guy is the worst "handyman" I have ever seen. Quoted us for 3 hours to install a cat door. First he puts on the new door we bought-- UPSIDE DOWN and after scratching his head for an hour as to why the hinges don't line up he finally figures it out. Then he puts the door on finally except the cat door instructions say to install it with the door flat on the ground. Mr. SmartGuy tosses the instructions aside, cuts out the template like a 5 year old who failed kindergarten and then proceeds to cut a hole both too small and obscenely crooked. Then after jamming the cat door in there he sees that the cat door doesn't actually work. The reason for this is that the plastic had no space to expand into the hole. Instead of taking it out and making the hole bigger he decides to shave down the plastic on the cat door. Good thing we stopped him from making that any worse. 5 and a half hours later he's still there-- door is crooked, cat door is crooked and now damaged, and our whole afternoon has been wasted. His excuse is that he'd never installed a cat door. If you never installed a cat door, maybe don't toss out the instructions ya goof! Oh, then he needs to get to another call and he doesn't clean up after himself after making a massive mess. Totally unprofessional. Anyway, this guy shouldn't be trusted to do any kind of work. read more
