Mikaku suhsi is a resaurant that focuses on quality and freshness when it comes to both their product and the atmosphere of the resaurant itself. The owners have replaced the normally unhealthy white rice made with cane sugar with rice prepared with honey. The rice tastes just as good and authentic as any other sushi rice, but waaaaaay healthier. As a person who likes to buy healthy food I really appreciate that they've taken the time to tweak their menu with this in mind.
The menu is rather standard, but if you ask the owners for off-menu items they are happy to accomodate you (with an added cost of course). Additionally, the owners are extremely welcoming. My fiance and I spent a good half-hour after we were done eating talking to one of them (ask her about Vietnam, where she's from; she has a lot of interesting stories and tips on good Vietnamese cuisine)!
The miso soup is hearty and full of flavor, and the green tea is light and earthy at the same time. Like I said, you can tell that they have invested in good quality ingredients... Highly recommended!
