We only realised it was an Irish bar after a while and chuckled to ourselves at how conspicuously cliched & Irish we were. I'm sure the atmosphere picked up later, but we were one of the only people in there, except for a family and one other group who, it seemed, were also avoiding the weather. No one had ordered any grub as far as we could see. The space was grand, but a bit of a repair job on the loos wouldn't go amiss. Also avoid the house wine - tiz a bit dodge.

But while she was jabbering I was watching the food being delivered to the seated diners. And it all looked really good. So we agreed to be seated on the patio under the awning. Octopus salad was piquant and has lots of diced onion, celery & cucumber. The light dressing was delicious. The BIG pot of seafood rice was chock full of giant shrimp, clams, squid, octopus. The long grain rice cooked perfectly toothsome. Again a delicious sauce. My lamb chops were a bit over cooked. But I ate every bite. Plate was loaded up with chips, mixed salad that had a variety of vegetables. Alas, I'd recommend that you order fish / seafood, not meat. Dessert: Ooooey-Gooey chocolate mousse. Thick and flavorful. Coffee is strong and bitter. Complimentary cherry liquor served at the end. Prices are a good value. Solid 4 stars.
