We came to Midye mi? has been opened in Bağdat Avenue in spring. When you look at the venue from outside Aegean colours, mainly blue and white, were outstanding. Sitting area composed of two barrels painted blue-white and a tray of street stuffed mussel seller were place in the outside. As soon as enter to its garden you meet the ambiance of old Turkish films. Nets and fisherman materials were used in decoration. Their menu was mainly composed of mussels like its name. Moules et frites (Belgium style mussel in pot), stuffed mussel, fried mussel, fish bread, potato on the stick, fish soup, salads and hot halva in oven were composing of the menu. When you sit a table they serve mussels in small chests. When we asked were they specific in respect of number they said that they count the number we eat and calculate your check. Stuffed mussels were very delicious. They were adding too much spices so you can not take its taste in many venues. We ordered fish soup, fried mussels and potato on stick. The russet brown of the soup was too much. The inside of the fried mussels was soft; outside of them was crispy. Mussels were coming from Black Sea Region. The offer of the potato was nice but it could be better using frying potato inside of it. There was no beer option in the menu but you can find 1-2 kinds anyway.
The venue has a warm atmosphere. You can see both groups and individuals loving mussels. It was a cute venue to eat aperitives in the region. read more
