I've worked in healthcare as a nurse for many years. In my practice I worked to resolve my…read morepatients issues advocating and finding a work around on their behalf That's not the case at Midwest. The issue with Midwest has nothing to do with the quality of the physical therapist. Despite being a client with good insurance and a history of receiving therapy multiple times before at this location, the front desk will not schedule you without a script in hand. I've been going to therapy for 2 months and because of my diagnosis will require many more months of P.T So instead of continuing PT, I have a 2 week lapse of treatment. All because my MD had written a script for 6 weeks of therapy and my MD appointment fell at the end of the 6 weeks. By the time I had the script in hand my therapist did not have evening openings. I'm trying to work while going to therapy. If your doctor is a rush doctor they don't care about the script and will schedule you. I have PPO insurance which is better then HMO and results in my having to pay more. They should change these scheduling habits and commit to providing good care. Allowing a 2 week lapse in my physical therapy shows a disregard for my well being. Maintaining a consistent pt schedule is very important to my recovery. When I initially scheduled they should have informed me they would not reschedule me without a script. They should have told me to contact my doctor 2 weeks before for the script so I could schedule or they could have contacted my doctor. They knew I would need PT for a lot longer time. I never had an issue with scheduling before.

I am a patient of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Westchester, IL. I am happy with the treatment I…read morereceived, but have to warn away any patients concerned about Covid 19 protection. A week ago, I arrived on time, had my temperature taken (which affords only minimal protection against infection) After checking in I was directed to sit in an upholstered chair. I chose to stand instead, not being certain that the chairs were adequately disinfected. After ten minutes, I was directed to a room, where I sat for an hour waiting to see the doctor. Staying indoors that long, even with a mask, is unsafe. By comparison, my friend had an appointment at Rush in Oakbrook. She was told to call when she was parked and to stay in her car until the doctor and a room were ready. They called her back in a few minutes and told her to comeAs she entered she was given a mask and asked to replace the one she had on. While her mask should have been sufficient, she was told that other people wear masks that are not. She was then taken to the room immediately and saw her doctor right away. This is the standard of care that all physicians should provide. It cost nothing extra and made the patients feel safe.
