He came highly recommended from friends, patients, and medical professionals as one of theist new ENTs in Kansas City. I can be a hard critic of medical care and their surrounding staff. As a physician and practice owner myself, I know full well the level of energy, dedication, and effort it takes to deliver great patient care. Dr. Stanley McClurg is one of the best ENT surgeons in Kansas City. His experience and extensive training as one of the few Rhinologists in Kansas City made him a perfect experienced choice for my surgeon. My quality of life is improved now that I can breathe well, sleep well, and I am thrilled with the outcome of my surgery. It has even stopped my snoring! The experience at the surgical center, with their staff, and anesthesiologists were equally fantastic. The surgical team were on-time, not rushed, and overall, the experience was a good as it gets in the business. I had earlier concerns regarding post-op discomfort, complications, and other issues associated with sinus reconstruction surgery. Dr. McClurg answered all of my questions and I was very confident and assured in his ability to deliver excellent care. I had very little discomfort and now feel amazing. After a couple of days of recovery I had the intranasal splints removed at my first post op exam at 5 days. The recovery was quick and comfortable. I missed a few days of work but could have easily returned the day the splints were removed. Dr. Stanley McClurg is a gifted physician with experience, talent, and good old fashioned caring that is making him a rising star in the KC medical community. My only regret from the experience is that I never got hooked up with Dr. McClurg earlier in my life. We are fortunate to have him in our city and I for one, and beyond grateful for his care. If you are considering seeing an ENT for yourself or family, I would recommend him highly.

My Dr retired from the practice & I was passed down to Foster. I did not like Foster as he dismissed the symptoms I c/o and he talked over me. My caretaker was with me to report changes she's seen over the last year. He did not listen to her either. I don't believe it's ok for a woman to be laying in the pt bed w/a male Dr over her taking away the med plan she's followed for several years at the same office. Then he's refusing to fill your meds & kicks you out. Arguing with your patient is not professional!

Every person I interacted with (including over the phone with the presurgery nurse and the check-in receptionist) was competent, respectful, and extremely kind. I was given the opportunity to speak to my gastrologist, Dr. Hillary Bownick, and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Kathleen Berger-Gillen and her assistant Emily, prior to the procedure. I spoke to each one individually at which time they each did an excellent job of explaining the procedure, and offered me the opportunity to ask questions. While in the procedure room, they explained everything they were doing BEFORE they did it. Everyone was very competent, respectful, and extremely kind to me. I especially want to acknowledge and express my appreciation for their empathy and extreme kindness about my request for an all female medical team. I am a rape survivor and have diagnosed PTSD from being extremely, horribly abused by two male doctors in 1993. So all of my doctors are women, but patients do not get to choose nurses, technicians, or anesthesiologists at hospitals, surgical or screening centers. I can not overstate how grateful I am for their kind response to my request and for arranging for me to have an all female team!! Thank you Mid America Surgery Institute!!!

They are very careful to be sure the procedures they're doing are correct - it involves a bit of paperwork but nothing outrageous. Dr. Heiniger was great and even called the evening of the procedure to make sure things were okay. I think people (myself included) might be more prone to write about frustrating experiences, but in this case, there was nothing to be concerned about. St. Luke's also called the afternoon after the 2nd procedure to check up. 5 stars.

Their incompetence re: patients and upcoming surgery re: financial aspect is appalling. They "stalk" the patients with their phone calls/texts wanting payment BEFORE the surgery. The first cataract surgery I had two weeks ago went fine with them. They didn't HOUND ME about payment on the first go-around. I answered the initial text (financial estimate for the surgery) that I would bring payment the day of surgery. No problem. Everything went smoothly and they got their payment on the DAY OF THE SURGERY. They got paid in full right then. I will NOT pay ahead of time. So this second surgery - 2 weeks later - they once again state in the text that I have the option to pay on the day of surgery so again, that's how I want to do it. Well, I have been HOUNDED with numerous phone calls and texts to pay for the second surgery a week ahead of time and then numerous times this week. Yet, I had to call them today to find out when I should be there tomorrow morning for the surgery. Just now, yet ANOTHER phone call about asking me to pay ahead of time! This is ridiculous! You'll get your payment at the time of surgery! One call about this would have been understandable - but numerous texts and phone calls is just too much. I answered the FIRST text about the payment that I'd bring it the day of the surgery. You had NO PROBLEM getting my payment for the FIRST surgery so back off! The nurses at 12541 Foster St. - during the surgery - are very nice and work with you to make you comfortable. BUT I am DONE with St. Lukes after this stalking me about payment. Offer the option to pay ahead of time on the financial estimate and leave it alone! I will NOT pay you ahead of time no matter how many times you hound me to do so.
