I walked in 30mins before close to get a quick beard trim because no one was answering the phone. The dude there looked like he was finishing up a client so I was hopeful he would be able do a 15min trim before closing up. The last time I was there, I'm pretty sure he told me his brother owns the shop so I figured he would want to make the place, and himself, extra money. Chad Grounds is an angel with clippers, razor and a big heart. He give my father a long over due shave that he has put off because he is now on hospice with oral cancer. My dad has sensitive areas on his head and face, but Chad gave him a gentle clean shave. My father was so elated he started singing songs! I usually get my haircut by Chad, but everyone who works there is the best around and very friendly. Great location right outside of downtown and you can even hang out after a haircut, because they offer complementary drinks and have a nice living area set up where they like to play Thunder games on the big screen. Today was my first time at this barbershop as I am new to OKC, I looked up reviews for best barbershop in the city and midtown barbers came up. Great reviews. I booked an appointment to have my beard trimmed and edged up, I am bald and shave my own head and do my own beard but sometimes it's nice to have a real barber do it for me. So I got my beard trimmed and edged up but the fade was uneven on both sides and the line on the bottom of my neck wasn't straight. They asked me to shave my head as well so I switched chairs to another gentleman. The shave took over 30 minutes and was not even finished. The top of my head wasn't even shaved and when I got home I had to finish my head, neck and fade. The guys were very nice and cool to talk to, normally I wouldn't write a review but when I got to the desk to pay out it was $80 for a half of a head shave and an unfinished uneven beard trim. Nobody in their right mind would pay $80 for that but since I didn't ask about pricing before (they have no posted pricing inside the shop like most places do) I just expected about $20-$30 max for what I got. I mean The Rock, Pitpul, Jason Statham, Dave Chappelle or any other rich bald man don't even pay $80 for a half shave and uneven beard trim! Had it been $30 I would've just took my loss and never gone back but when I was burned for $80 that stung as I could've bought the shaver they used on my head and had it forever. I got burned worse on the price than I did when they put the aftershave on. Guys, do not go here unless you want to pay 4 times market price for a sports clip cut! The two guys were nice but they got me good. Never again read more
