After recently losing my father I used Allens funeral directors to take care of the funeral…read morearrangements, I could not have chosen better, the director I dealt with was absolutely superb in every way, he was soft of voice and had a very calming nature making myself and family very at ease. He helped by listening to what we wanted and by advising every step of the way. I cannot fault the company for any part of their service. I cannot say enough good things about them, I would recommend to anyone who had to deal with that unfortunate circumstance. It was the first time I had got to do anything like that and the people around you can make a difference and Allens certainly helped me deal with my loss and the events the followed that I had to organise. If I should ever find myself needing to use the services of a funeral director in the future I would never use anyone else.

They are money minded, hard faced and after IDRS (an Independent Resolution agency) became involved due to the Co op's total lack of care and organisation skills, the IDRS have told me today that many people complain about this organisation, but due to the size of it, they get away with bad practice and rarely have to apologise for theie manner. It left our family distressed and confused. Do not go to them, unless you have been by friends / family that a particular branch is alright. Sorry to be so negative, but on top of a family's death, we have found this an awful experience, never to be repeated.

I…read morehave been coming here since 2000 (mum passed in 1999) and 2018 respectively (Dad passed in 2017). I always stand in the same area on my visit which someone had said historically was the correct area. This year I decided to check in the office. The lady gave me a map but also grabbed her coat and showed me in person to make sure I had the right place. As it happens, it was the right place but confirmation was very satisfying. They were more concerned with easing the grief we were suffering and not gouging us when we were vulnerable. John went above and beyond by always answering our calls ( anytime of day/night) and answering questions (even if they were repeat questions, as you aren't functioning when you're in shock).
