I have been going to Rose for many many years. She helped me initially with some back taxes and she has helped me ever since.

From the beginning to the end of our homebuying process, they were informed, communicative, and amazingly resourceful. As newcomers to the homebuying process, we had a lot of questions; they answered promptly and thoroughly every time, always in terms we could understand. Ultimately, we closed on our new home without any major issues along the way, and I don't know how we would have done it without their genuine kindness and support. Also: if you are an animal enthusiast, ask Kim about her dog to receive some extremely cute pictures guaranteed to take the edge off the stress of buying a home. We would not hesitate to recommend Kim and Sheila to anyone buying a home in the San Francisco Bay Area - it is hard to imagine a better experience than the one we had. Thank you, Kim and Sheila!

Sheila and Kim are hands down some of the best loan officers I've worked with…read more They helped my client purchase his first home smoothly and closed the transaction in under 18 days on a nearly $900K deal. That kind of speed and execution is rare. Their process was incredibly streamlined, communication was clear throughout, and they stayed on top of every detail from start to finish. Most importantly, my client felt supported and confident the entire time, which made a huge difference for a first-time homebuyer. As the realtor on the transaction, I truly appreciate their professionalism and efficiency. Looking forward to many more deals together.

Now, for Fremont Bank, in general: I got a HELOC with this bank 18 months ago. The process took forever. I've refinanced in under 30 days several times, but this took 2.5 months! My fault for not realizing they have only one branch in Santa Clara County, smack in the heart of downtown San Jose. Makes direct connection difficult - had to fax lots of stuff to them, way beyond a refi. They are always super nice and helpful, in person and on the phone. But their system sets you up to fail. They require you to open a checking account, into which you make your payment. Your loan then withdraws automatically from the checking. It turns out the loan dept is completely separate from the banking part of the bank, even has different phone numbers, and never the twain shall meet. One side can't see the other side's info, so straightening out a problem is very difficult. If something does go wrong, you get fined three times: first from the checking (attempted overdraft), then from the loan dept ( Because there wasn't enough money in the checking) then the Loan Dept nicely calls you to tell you, but charges $20 to make a payment over the phone! And this happened because their app didn't send my deposit! I highly recommend doing a HELOC with your regular bank or credit union (or make this your bank, if it's convenient )it will make the process, and the aftermath - so much easier to deal with!

This review is for an arrogant and unprofessional customers service rep on the phone, NOT about…read moretheir products and services in general. When I called them to send a document to them per THIER request, that customer service rep just didn't give me any workable solutions with her arrogant attitude, without any solutions to my inquiry AGAIN to respond to THEIR letter as much as I can. She needs to be retrained to learn what customer service is, or look for other job. Totally different from those professionals at Fremont Bank who helped me to set up my HELOC several years ago.

Our refi did have some unique circumstances given I was on maternity leave at the time and I wanted to give some grace for that, but the issues we had went far beyond a complicated refi. Additionally, when we decided to go with another company, the process was so smooth that it proved the situation never should have been viewed as that complicated to begin with. The main issues were: 1) Information would be asked for, we would provide that information, nothing would happen, we would ask questions then they would share they needed information that we had already provided that was right there in the same email thread. 2) The information they claimed to need from my employer kept escalating. They asked for a letter verifying I was still employed despite being on leave, my employer provided it, nothing happened, we checked on progress and they said we needed more. They asked to speak with my manager to simply confirm my employment, they didn't contact her for over a week, then they asked HR type questions she couldn't possibly answer. Then they claimed they just needed HR to confirm verbally that they had issued the letter, then they finally talked to HR and asked a bunch more questions. It was bizarre and honestly, my employer was apologizing to me by the end of it while I was apologizing to them. 3) They didn't care about official loan deadlines, because it seemed to be their plan to keep asking for extensions. We initiated everything on 9/8 and as of 10/17, past the 30 day mark, they were still "gathering information." Working with the company we ended up going with, we started with them on 10/21 and everything was completely wrapped up by 11/14. 4) When working with other loan officers I've had experience with, they will do things periodically on weekends or in the evenings as necessary to hit deadlines. This team seemed to never work weekends and at one point Ander went MIA for over a week of the process and was supposedly on vacation with no back-up. This wouldn't be a big deal if it were a longer process, but over a week out of 30 days is pretty extreme. From what I can tell, these people just aren't that skilled. They clearly have a big company and Factory is an apt name for it as I think they just get as much business as they can get, turn and burn, and don't really care about the service they are providing.
