I fractured my tibia and was unable to flex my knee along with complete leg atrophy. With the help of Lourdes and Peter I'm walking and on my way to full flexion. They are so knowledgeable, I enjoy receiving tailored information about workouts to do while at home. My insurance only allows for so many sessions but with Florida Occupational Healthcare help I am able to continue my therapy with affordable out of pocket cost. I can't speak more highly of the staff, everyone is so friendly from the office staff to the owner. I'm so thankful for Lourdes and Peter for the excellent rehab experience, they push you hard, but you're happy to go back for more. This is definitely the right physical therapy office to get you feeling well with a great location that gets you in and out without sacrificing quality care. So here is my physical therapy story: I fractured my arm…read moreback in June, underwent surgical reduction (plate implant), and needed physical therapy ASAP. I'm a veterinarian who performs lots of surgery so I was nervous about losing fine motor function in my right arm. I also train in aerial silks (circus ropes) and was eager to return to my craft . Feeling very hopeless about the implications of what had just happened to me, I came across Florida Occupational Health Care via a google search for physical therapy. Fortunately, they took my insurance United Health Care (yay!). First day, I had a consult with one of the DPTs. She was very thorough and compassionate about my pain and understood my hesitation and pessimism at the time. Immediately after my consult, she introduced me to my therapist, DJ. Five million stars for this man! He has been essential to my recovery. There was pain...I'm not going to lie about that. But he assured me that if I worked through the pain, I'd reach my goal. We started with a deep scar massages trying to breakdown the hard, inflammatory tissue (OUCH), then incorporated range of motion exercises, and after 6 weeks, I was doing strength training! Granted, I was diligent and motivated. I went three times a week and continued therapy exercises at home. I think this was also key. I LOVE the good, caring vibes of the staff. All the assistants know you by name and take an interest in your progress. Lastly, the owner and head DPT Alex makes it a point to check in on all patients on a weekly basis (sometimes more frequently). He will swing by my table whenever DJ is working on me and make recommendations or comment about my improvement. I personally went to him to get reassurance that I could start training in aerial silks again. He was very positive and gave me the green light. It's essential to have a caring team behind you rooting for your recovery. That's exactly what I found at Florida Occupational. Exactly 7 weeks after my surgery, I was training in aerial silks again. It's been a great experience and I HIGHLY recommend them!

She is diligent, responsible and professional. Yes, it certainly does hurt when you are going to therapy, but it also hurts prior to surgery and during the healing phase - at any time, not just for therapy. However, after you leave the session, you begin to see the distinct difference in your well-being. Tamara is diligent in what she does - she is the number one pick in my book. As a matter of fact, I am scheduled for the other knee surgery and I will definitely want Tamara ...In addition, after all my insurance allotment is done - I will purchase a package to stay with them. I wish there were more stars to give Tamara and her staff more than the deserved 5 stars. They are THAT GOOD!!
