I brought my car in for an oil change at Midas. It had been my oil change place for several years. I got a call shortly after drop off telling me they couldn't open the hood. I told them the last time the hood was opened was 6 months before for an oil change at that same Midas. They insisted that they needed to charge me to fix the hood latch mechanism, which they were last to use. I refused to be charged for a problem that almost certainly they had accidentally created (remember the hood hadn't been opened)! Upon picking up the car there is now a loose cable sticking out where it was attached to the latch and the hood is super tight to the car frame. Neither of these was the case when I dropped off. THEY BROKE THE LATCH AND THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME TO FIX IT! Unbelievable!

Shady! Won't be back!! I have previously used Midas when I lived in Chicago and had a great experience. Went to the Port Orchard Midas for an oil change after moving out west, and they informed me I needed to get my brakes inspected. They said the front brakes were great, but that my rear brakes were not in good shape. My brakes started making a grinding noise a couple weeks later, and so I told my dad and he told me to bring my car by so he could take a look himself. We inspected the rear tires because that's what Midas said needed attention. Nothing wrong, still had a good groove on the brake pads...so he cleaned the brake pads off and reassembled...and my car still made noise. So he ordered some brake lubricant and some more cleaner and said we would inspect the front tires later. Well we looked at them today, and my front right tire's brake pad was COMPLETELY worn down. Midas didn't inspect anything, and going forward I won't be back. Would not recommend people to them. Do not trust them to handle future maintenance problems. Included a picture of my front brake pads for reference. Furthermore. I had one of my tires replaced by them...they gave me a quote, I accepted and scheduled an appointment to get it changed. When I got there, they said they didn't have my tire and they weren't sure what the person was looking at when she said they had my tire in stock initially. They said they have a similarly priced tire...but it was more money than the tire I was quoted. They should have honored the initial quote but instead they made more money off of me. Won't be back.

I tried again still could not find the problem. I stumbled upon community I always thought they were just a small shop. They gave me a quote what they thought was the issue. They said it would take about an hour. The car took over 4 hours more complicated than they thought. I was fully expecting every minute that they were going to come and tell me that it was going to cost more or that they found a new issue where they had to repair something else. What ended up happening is they finished the repair while I am nervous about what add-ons they're going to tell me they did. Instead I get a quote for exactly what was promised. When I was surprised he said it's what we quoted you and we stick to our quotes. I can't believe a place like this would be that honest I have never had good luck with car places until now. During an oil change at their Port Orchard location, my engine oil was overfilled by nearly three quarts, which I later had verified and documented. This isn't a small mistake--it can cause serious engine damage if not corrected. On top of that, the drain plug was over-torqued, creating additional issues I had to deal with on my own. This isn't a small mistake--it can cause serious engine damage if not corrected. On top of that, the drain plug was over-torqued by 3x the amount it should have been, creating additional issues I had to deal with on my own. I was also frustrated by how I was treated. My concerns were dismissed, and I was spoken to in a way that felt condescending and unprofessional. I gave the business an opportunity to address this directly and even asked to be contacted by the owner, but I never received a response. Because of the incorrect diagnosis, poor workmanship, and lack of accountability, I would not recommend anyone going there to conduct business as well as ensure you warn your friends and family.

The oil change we received on our car - and the accompanying inspection report - seemed thorough, and while some of the recommended repairs were perhaps overpriced, the staff were generous in their offerings of alternatives. We will certainly consider Meineke for our future routine maintenance needs (if not all of our repair needs).

They fixed me right up when I came in for my appt. And after the residual oil burned off, no more smoking and no more oil leak! Side note: my car had recently been stolen and abandoned and the ignition tumbler was messed up. I told them as fair warning for turning on/off And I had an annoying belt squeak usually when I'd first start the far after sitting for any decent amount of time (a few hours to overnight). It wasn't until I parked my car and turned it off that I realized they fixed the ignition tumbler, too! (Not sure how difficult that was for them) And then later, I realized I wasn't hearing any squeaking belt starting up my car. They fixed that up, too! And they are super helpful even giving their thoughts on different issues with the car to look into as they notice them and they don't charge an arm and a leg. Very happy with their services and will definitely be using them as my go-to mechanic as I'm fairly new to the Bremerton area.

Three illegal things in the state of WA - doing unnecessary work, lying to the customer about the problem and needed work, and increasing the estimate by over 10% (more like 30%) without confirming with the customer. Ended up having to deal with their corporate office who eventually sorted it out for us, but if we hadn't been persistent enough to fight them on it, they'd have just taken 130% of the estimate while having done absolutely nothing to address the problem. We agreed to pay them for their unnecessary labour, so we're out $400 plus the cost of the tows there and back and we're right back at square one. These guys are predators.

Isn't this always the way? You get a massive repair done on you car only for another massive thing…read moreto go down. My car's going along smoothly after the last repair only for the ominous Check Engine light to go on. Called Brent and got an instant repair slot. That Check Engine light did mean bad news but Country Side repaired everything beautifully. What we really appreciate with them is that they kept us in the loop with the repair. There was a problem getting a proper replacement for one of the major car parts which they told us about and called to let us know how they were able to handle it. That's how I was introduced to Rick, who apparently is one of the mechanics who calls customers when Brent's busy elsewhere. Another great service was that they test drove our car after the repair to make sure the car drove well and checked out before handing it back to me. When I first started the engine I was blown away. There was virtual silence as the engine quietly purred. It hasn't sounded that great since the first few years we owned it. You kind of expect a car to sound noisier as it ages and piles up the miles. We've got a new-sounding car again. The rear shocks were also replaced and now the ride and suspension feel as tight as a new car, which is exactly how I prefer a car to feel as I'm driving it around. We're really happy with the repairs, and the cost was a great deal for all the work done, including the parts. Finding a great, trustworthy auto repair shop is essential for putting down roots in an area where you've chosen to live, right up there with doctors, dentists, a host of repair people for making repairs around your house and for appliances, and things like that. Country Side remains the best auto repair shop we've ever found in Kitsap County.
