Ken Leandre is a windows and doors rep for this company and dealt dishonestly on many levels. He tried to get me to meet him to give him my credit card number and I wouldn't. He finally agreed to meet me at Mid Cape in Orleans and then tried to get me to overpay by $4500 on a $17,000 bill and told me he couldn't give me a receipt. When the windows arrived the first one was the wrong size. He's the one who measured the windows I was replacing. The next shipment was missing windows. The next shipment had four windows when five were ordered. When I told the drivers how awful I thought he was they all said that it was not the first time they'd heard this from customers and that it wasn't even the 10th time. My other experiences with Mid Cape have been great. read more

I see some of the bad reviews on here and think maybe those people need some meds or another hitter from their pipe! I have been here hundreds of times and never had 1 bad experience. Great service and staff and they always have what I need or a substitute that works just as well, I think some of the people who come in expect to get the royal treatment they got when Cape Cod had 1/4 of the population it has now, unrealistic expectations lead to disappointment. Everybody is a big time contractor/builder/carpenter/painter/landscaper on the Cape so they think. Get a grip and some patience before you show up thinking your the most important person in the room at all times! Your just another face on the Cape now it isn't 1997 anymore so stop cryin about it! read more

We had our kitchen completely gutted and renovated about 7 years ago with Mid-Cape and it was the worst experience we've ever had. It was everything from getting measurements wrong so recessed lighting and cabinets had to be redone, to installing new venting where we did not want it. The ceiling started cracking soon after the project was done, which my husband had anticipated and spoke to them about--nothing was done. They also tried to tell me that painting was not included (this was a full renovation down to new walls) with the general manager telling me I didn't understand how things worked, until my husband called and the story changed. The renovation was over budget, past the due date, and caused a lot of bad feelings. They were certainly not the cheapest quote, but they promised a lot so we went with Mid-Cape. Save your money and go with someone else. read more

I've had multiple bad experiences at mid-cape home centers. I was at mid-cape home center picking up some lumber with my landscaping boss. The person at the exit was checking our receipt and noticed that we had paid for a different type of wood than we had picked up. My boss mentioned something about the recent weather and the clerk snapped "let's deal with this for now and worry about that later." A rude response to some friendly banter. More recently I went in to get a new drain plug. I went in to a pretty much empty store. There were two cashiers with no customers I asked one where the drain plugs would be and he waved me off in the right direction instead of walking me over to them. When I got to the area I searched high and low but could not find the drain plugs. I asked another clerk in the area and he told me they had condensed the area in the store and they no longer carried them. Customer service is about as low as it can get here. The staff is constantly rude and degrading. Staff are around but never help you load anything into your vehicle. You often need to help another customer load their truck so they can help you load yours . I would avoid mid-cape home center pretty much at all costs. I was really hoping the lowes would be approved and finally put mid cape out of business. read more

This is my go to spot for home "stuff" that cannot be purchased at the local True Value Hardware Store. The service is second to none. They refurbished the place. It looks great. I am in the market for an AC. Prices are higher than the chain stores but they stand by their product. read more

Purchased some items for our bathroom renovation, including some cool metal mussel shaped cabinet door knobs. Pam in Kitchen & Bath was super helpful without being pushy. I couldn't make a decision on the spot, so I returned later that afternoon. She went above and beyond what was required for a custom order. Follow through when order came in was fantastic. It pays to shop local - I hadn't been in that store for years, but I will certainly go back! read more

Steer clear of this place. Really, really wanting to work with a local supplier for a home renovation instead of the big box stores. You'd think with such competition their focus would be on service since it really can't be on price. No such luck. I just got off the phone trying to get service on a broken product they sold me and now they're telling me I have to go somewhere else to get service. The guy on the phone actually said "I only work here". Can't agree more with how painful the relationship has been. It's sad that when the small retailers are being "pushed out" by the big box stores, they refuse to fight and deliver what the bigger stores can't. Instead they act as if we OWE it to them to shop there and they'll help us out if convenient. All done.. Home Depot here I come. I hope they build one right next door. read more

Here's the thing with Mid-Cape Center now, it's about commercial accounts. They have to depend on those commercial accounts and BIG, big ticket items, like a complete kitchen renovation from regular Joes like you. If you just need some little piece of hardware, just go to True Value or one of the small shops. When you need lumber or a new kitchen, sure, go to Mid-Cape, for everything else go elsewhere. You'll make yourself and them happier. It wasn't like that 30 years ago, but nothing else was either. read more

ordered lumber for delivery..part of the order was picked wrong..(strike one) the delivery guy was nice but said he couldnt fix the order until the following tuesday, but that was no help the work needed to be done that day...so..I piled the wrong lumber into my minivan and took it to wellfleet where they exchanged it. I asked that because of the inconvienience could they refund my delivery charge (40.00)..I felt that was fair and so did the guy in wellfleet, but he said I would need to call the dennis store(strike 2) I think he should have offered to work it out for me.. so here I am ..two unreturned phone calls to the manager of the dennis store...I guess I will just let it go at this point but I will never order from them again. read more

Contacted Mid Cape to see what refrigerators they had in stock where there website states "shop our huge selection of state-of-the-art kitchen appliances and save". They DO NOT sell appliances, only service according to the gal that answered the phone. I asked her if she knew of anyone / recommended someone that could help us where we needed a fridge asap for our cottage. She gave me a company out of Hyannis and then hung up on me as I was thanking them for that info and had another question. Her tone clearly stated that she couldn't be bothered with a "customer". My family always looks to work with people on the Cape and local businesses. We have been purchasing from Mid Cape for over 40 years and in the past year have been less than pleased with their customer service. You state "we would rather lose a sale than lose a customer." Bottom line we didn't mind paying more to keep a local business thriving but you may have lost a customer due to service and rudeness. read more

If considering a kitchen remodel, or building new, especially kitchen cabinets, go elsewhere. Mid-Cape was recommended by our contractor...worst recommendation we have ever received and we will regret using them forever. Would truly like to tear out finished product and begin again but at 40K just not realistic. Cabinet construction, quality, finish, installation all poorly done. We are literally embarrassed to have people see the project and it is a daily reminder of what a poor decision we made using Mid-Cape. read more

Like other reviews customer service at this store is painful. I came in to order paint and was in full view of the main center where I had smiled and said hello on my way to paint center, for over 10 mins I stood there as the gentleman behind the counter continued to talk with each other. I had to physically walk over and then they looked at me and asked 'do you need help with paints?' I thought, no I've just been standing there in plain view at your paint counter for 10 mins at the counter with my paint sample...Of course I needed help and they paged someone who came and was very nice. But this is repeatedly the kind of service at this store. It's almost as though they are doing you a favor by allowing you to shop there. They are not overly friendly or responsive so don't plan on going in if you have questions or need help and are looking for guidance. Prices are high compared to other places but in a pinch where you don't have time to go elsewhere you can find most products. read more

This place is horrible. They do not stand by their products. I bought a vacuum clearner a week ago and tried to use it and it won't pick anything up. When I tried to return it the manager said it is a bad product and works as he expects and therefore he will not refund it. You should never go to this place - it is a terrible place. read more

I own a house in Brewster, MA that had been renovated before I purchased it. I wanted some extras for the kitchen cabinets that had been purchased at Mid-Cape. I went there and asked about a knife block and other things and they seemed totally disinterested in my business and I left. 6 years later. I had a bookcase built-in and needed knobs for the cabinet doors. I looked online and saw the ones I wanted, but wanting to support local businesses, I thought I would give Mid-Cape another chance. What a dope I was. I went in to Mid-Cape and expected to find someone to help me, but no one was in the department. I left my name with the receptionist who told me she would have someone call me. No one did. I went BACK there, spoke to a nice woman and ordered the two starfish knobs in a certain finish. When I looked over the order, I told the woman that she had writtten down the wrong finish number. I received a phone call over two weeks later and I went to retrieve my new knobs. I opened the package and they were the WRONG knobs. Honestly, I almost started to laugh. The person waiting on me told me she would reorder and have them sent to my house. I waited three weeks before calling to ask about the knobs. A man took my phone number and told me he would look into it and call me back and amazingly, he did. He told me that the knobs would arrive soon, they were just sending them out (I know he just placed the order when I called him) and they arrived a few days later. The only good thing about this disastrous affair is that the knobs were the same price they were online. I can't believe that Dennis voted down allowing Lowe's in when we have to deal with Mid-Cape who could care less about my business. I will instruct anyone doing work for me to purchase supplies elsewhere and not at Mid-Cape. Please don't blame me if you go there and have the same horrible experience. You were warned! read more

Where do I begin? Was sold cabinets that appeared to be quality products, but they weren't. hoping to finally have the broken ones replaced soon. I'm not holding my breath on that. just had the granite installed to find the wrong sink was cut in. this is forcing me to look closely at all the cabinets. finding knicks and chips on almost all. hopefully they will stand behind their products to make this right. but, we'll see. wanna just rip everything out and start with a new designer at a new company. read more

I renovated two baths this summer and ordered two vanities and two vanity tops. One of the vanities had a mark on the middle top double vanity door. I called and a new door front was supposedly ordered. When I picked up the new door front, it was the wrong piece (false front over door). Two months later and I am still waiting. I also ordered an additional eight knobs for the two vanities, and the order was taken over the phone. When I inquired three weeks later as to the order status, I was told the knobs were never ordered. i again placed the order over the phone and was told that I would receive an email confirmation of my order. That didn't happen, but I checked my credit card charges to find that I was charged for the order. Still waiting. I would not recommend this store to anyone! read more

Mid-Cape Home Center has terrible customer service and a lack of competent management to make any changes. It was not always this way. They have no real competition and take advantage of the customers. I have experienced this in both the Dennis and Orleans stores. read more

Mid Cape put a lien on our property due to the fault our their client; our builder! This was done without so much as a call to us for discussion or warning.. We were building a small home (1,000 sq ft) on Cape Cod.) 'Our builder abandoned our project in the very beginning of construction; i.e. 3 exterior walls and open to the elements and rotting. The builder also left about 6 other homeowners in various stages; leaving us all scrambling. Our deposits are gone and it appears some of our interim payments didn't make their way to the suppliers; the builder has all monies. Mid Cape was a supplier of lumber on our project. Mid Cape was informed that the builder has our monies which more than covers the purchase. Mid Cape chose to lien our home without so much as a courtesy call to us. Our new builder is now purchasing the balance of all building products at another firm as we refuse to do business with them. read more

I've been a customer for 6 years and have a contractor's account with Mid-Cape. Their prices used to be on the high side but service and convenience justified the premium pricing. But now their pricing is outrageously high. For example, recently went there to purchase some 2x4x8 PT studs. They used to be priced at $4 and change a few months back, they are now priced at over $6 each! Price checks at Home Depot for same grade PT lumber is $3.71 and at Botello's $4.41. Mid-Cape must think that their customers are morons as at the same time they have raised their prices to outrageous levels they have signs in all their stores asking their customers to just Say No To Lowe's (Lowe's is in the process of obtaining approvals to put up a store in Dennis across the street from Mid-Cape's largest location). Well, after seeing the new outrageous pricing, I'm saying Yes to Lowe's and Stuff It to Mid-Cape. read more
