Pickup lines have become noticeably longer as pharmacy technicians wait for customers to repeatedly enter information across multiple screens: first name, last name, birth month, birth day, and now even an additional screen to validate phone numbers and email addresses. I do not desire to scan a customer loyalty card. This violates my purchasing privacy. Despite the excessive inputs required, only one kiosk screen is available for use. This design flaw consistently results in lines 10-15 customers deep, while a technician stands by simply watching the slow process play out. This is an inefficient use of both technology and staff time. My recent experiences have made it clear that this system is hindering customer service rather than improving it. As a result, I will be moving my prescriptions elsewhere.
