This is definitely the go-to for me when I need bourbon on this deployment! Michel's is a sophisticated whiskey nook just off the beaten path in downtown Ansbach. The first thing I noticed inside was the friendly dog who is always in the store. I loved petting him and seeing his cute little face. The owner is also friendly and very knowledgeable. They don't have a huge bourbon selection but that's pretty common for Germany. However, they had Willett and a few other nice choices. The prices are reasonable and the owner does have some airplane bottles available for tasting so that you can see what you're getting before you make a purchase. He also has whiskey accessories so you can get glasses, decanters, rocks, etc., I definitely recommend this store for your liquor needs! read more

He spoke English which was great since none of us speak German yet! I was almost overwhelmed with all of the options. They have so many great wine, whiskey and spirit selections. I opted to try a Kentucky bourbon in honor of my hometown. The gentleman working in the store also told us the history of the various whiskeys and he was extremely knowledgeable. I could see myself buying something every week from this store!! They also have many different cooling oils and decorative flasks and decanters. I can't wait to show this store to more friends in the area!
