Oh man, where do I begin. I ADORE Michelle. She is sarcastic, witty, and god she's amazing. We hired her for our 7/21/24 wedding, and I hate being photographed. Michelle put me at such ease. She showed up on time, knocked out all family photos, and proceeded to take some of the best photos throughout the night. Within just a few days of our wedding we got a sneak peak email with a handful of photos, and that sneak peak just reaffirmed to me that I had chosen the best photographer. Michelle is hands down the most talented photographer anyone in my family has worked with. Michelle is truly someone special. From the first meeting we had with her when we were evaluating vendors for our wedding, we expected what would be a 30 minute meeting at her house turned into a 2.5 hour conversation about life, love and everything in-between. That's when we knew we wanted Michelle to photograph our special day. It was a joy working with Michelle for our July wedding at Cornerstone. I mean everything, every trait, every aspect, every skill was exactly what we needed. Cornerstone is a complicated venue and Michelle navigated it like a pro. All our family wanted to take photos with their phones / ipads / gopro / doo-hickeys and she handled them well. If there is one thing that brings out my green little envy monster, it is talented people. But, Michelle is the kind of person that makes you want to be her friend. Not only is she so nice and comfortable and fun and genuinely amazingly dynamic, she is so talented it just blows me away. Looking through her portfolios makes me want to be there, makes me feel the emotions of the day. I was sucked into her work & how she makes wedding photos something interesting to look at. I can't tell you how many boring wedding portfolios that I've had to look through before I found her. **** We did our engagement photo session with Michelle in SF, I told her I wanted something urban and elegant, something with lots of contrast. She had us meet her at Boulevard down on the Embarcadero & we shot in all these fun corners. She knew some great areas. We would walk & shoot & walk & shoot some more. It was so fun. We chatted and joked and laughed and had such a great time. At the end of the day, I honestly felt that there was NO WAY that we had any good shots, we had way too much fun. But we got our pictures back faster than she had promised & they were AMAZING!!! I couldn't believe that every shot was really good. We keep going back and looking through all the pictures & can't narrow it down. We had only planned on getting a few, but Michelle came up with the idea of putting together an engagement album that could double as our guest book for our wedding. Then when we go back and look at our pictures, we have our guest book to reminisce about too. The only regret I have about our wedding was hiring Michelle Walker. I booked her early due to all of the rave reviews I read. 1. She did not take many pictures of people at the wedding, except mostly solo or in artistic shots. Her style is photojournalistic, and as a result we are missing many pictures of people we care about from our wedding day. 2. She took good photos, but she did not take pictures of many of the attendees. It was a small wedding, 60 people, and 1/3 of the attendees are barely noticed in the photos (some are entirely missing). For example: we have 100+ photos of our first dance at different angles, but no pictures of anyone else at the reception except for some photos of people dancing. 3. Most of the photos of other people are close-ups of their heads; so you can't tell they are at a wedding or have any real context for what the picture is for. They are nice "head shots" but they don't show any surroundings or context of a wedding. 4. I realize photographers need to take breaks, but she spent a lot of the dinner portion talking with people at her table and didn't take any photos of the bride/groom at their table or shots of guests in the room. You have to know exactly what you want before hiring her; and since I'd never gotten married before I didn't know what I could be forgetting to specify. She needed me to specify every single kind of shot I wanted her to take. She primarily takes the required shots including in your contract, and some extras, so you really need to specify every single photo/group shot you want taken or they won't happen. I made the mistake of assuming she would take group shots throughout the day and was heartbroken to see that she focused only on the most obvious moments (ceremony, first dance), when I wanted to see what else happened that day outside of my small field of vision. read more

When we were interviewing wedding photogaphers we were looking for three things: quality of work, price, and "chemistry". Michelle's work was not the strongest , nor her price the lowest, but we chose Michelle because we felt she was a "people person" and would not be annoying to our guests and us on our big day. Our pictures were mediocre at best. We should have gone with the best photographer period. Her after event service falls short of her steep prices. I would steer clear. We really do not have one great shot out of hundreds taken of us together or apart! I gave her two stars because she showed up on time and was pleasant. read more

Michelle is a rock star! I don't love having my photo taken . . never have, but Michelle made me feel comfortable . . she was a distant observer of us in the moment. My wedding pictures were the most beautiful ever . . and I'm not photogenic. She put me at ease, she was fun, helpful w/planning and friendly w/o being obtrusive. More importantly, Michelle is more of an artist than a photographer. She see things that the average Joe doesn't. I've never seen more proofs ever . . . and everyone looked fantastic. She captured food, moments, details . . . amazing. Her designer is also top drawer. I love my wedding album. It captured the people, our moments and the details that I worked forever to plan. Michelle does a fantastic job. She captured our spirits in every shot and made me feel beautiful and she gave me an opportunity to revisit some very special moments after the fact, because I was busy focusing on other things. Michelle was our wedding photographer at Cornerstone on 7/20/14. Not only she is an amazing photographer who gave us hundreds of beautiful photos at the end of the event, she also is a great leader who can gather and herd people to get the necessary shots. We loved working with Michelle. We looked at a lot of photographers, but thought that her work did the best job of capturing full experience and emotions of the event and not just have a series of portraits. Michelle Walker is phenomenal. We had engagement shots done with her as well as our wedding. Our wedding was 3 weeks ago and she sent us the link to our pictures already! Not only is she quick to get pictures back, but she is so easy to work with and her pictures are absolutely beautiful. The reason my husband and I picked her was because of her style, she's very candid and catches so many special moments that aren't posed. Michelle is professional but warm at the same time, makes taking endless pictures comfortable and quick, and answers emails right away when you have questions. I barely even sensed Michelle around during our wedding, but after seeing pictures it is clear that she was right there for all of the important moments. She was also great to make sure we'd gotten all of the pictures we wanted with special family/ friends before she left the reception. We have gotten so many compliments about her pictures already. There was a problem with the photo lab which she was not aware of but she has taken care of the problem.
