Horrible customer service. There is no one walking around to assist with items locked in cabinets. I only needed one thing and had to wait in the extremely long check out line twice just to purchase a $3 pen. Then I got attitude from the girl who apparently got interrupted from facebooking to open the cabinet and do her job, god forbid. I got treated with disrespect because I didn't speak spanish. What the hell is wrong with this store! I'll go out of my way to Mission Valley. read more

Not even worth a star. This place is ALWAYS packed full of people, low on stock, under manned, and looks like a hurricane passed through it with a lot of the merchandise being damaged. Their only saving grace is most of the employees are friendly - when you can find one. Every time I go, I wait in a line that's wrapped all the way to the back of the store. Ive always had mixed feelings about this location. Today i was 100% swayed and reminded why i always go back. Cons: Being a border store and as far as i can think the only store of its kind nearby it is always busy. I have tried going a all kinds of times of the day its pointless to try ive just accepted when i go there will always be a line. The 2nd thing is the size of the store for all that product they def need a larger location. PROS: The always have a lot of everything! The clearance section is always filled, they give the best deals and coupons and the Staff is helpful and always are reminding you of coupons and deals that u can be taking advantage of. Even when swamped they always turn look you in the eye and greet you when you walk in. The reason for my mixed heart to def now say i am a fan was my experience today with the Customer Service Manager Luis. Awesome friendly guy, the line was long not as long as usual and i seen him rushing from the floor to come his employees help who was really busy being super sweet to and helpful to a customer with a mental handicapp so i understood and actually really respected that she took the time and had patience with this customer. That showed me they have awesome company that trains in great service and teamwork. So when i was paying Luis reminded me of a coupon i had saved me 20 bucks! Then i ended up getting another 40& off coupon. I was so grateful. He did explain he usually is on the floor helping customers and that if i ever needed help he would help me all around the store to find what i need for my projects!. read more

Michaels is great! I am a jewelry designer and it's so funny, because people would tell me that Michaels is overpriced, but when the sales kick in, you go to Michaels and you are stuck there for hours (because it's a good place to be) until you HAVE to leave. I love their stuff, the beads are so cool and they have everything as far as findings and metals. Love them! read more

I would give this store zero stars if I could. The service is dismal and you wait for ever in line. We went to buy one item for our daughter. The item was clearly marked on sale from $16.99 to $14.99 but when we got up to the register they said it was an old sale tag THEY forgot to take down. They would not honor the sale price. Come on! It was $2. This shows the lack of customer commitment this store and company has to its patrons. I will be contacting weights and measures. read more

They got everything here at Michaels !! The sales people are very helpful !! They keep everything well organized and clean !! The lines here move quickly !! Also Michaels always have great coupons and you could show them on your phone and they will honor the coupon ! read more

Had to give this place my highest rating because I received amazing service during my visit today. I'm an agoraphobic trying to make my way back into the world, and large stores make me really anxious. A male sales associate (wish I could remember his name) approached me to see if I needed help, and I showed him my long list of things to find. I don't know if he could sense that I was struggling or if he's just naturally super-helpful, but he literally lead me around the store and helped me locate everything on my list in no time. And he did it all in a very professional, kind and considerate way that is the very definition of excellent customer service. Very pleased with this Michael's. This Micheals is without a doubt the worst Micheals I have ever had the displeasure of working with. First of all, the store is always messy and only half stocked. Then you have to deal with the rudest, most unprofessional people I have ever met, then to top it off, when you "special order" something, they dont put in your order and dont call to let you know that what you ordered will not be coming in. THEN when you call to check on your item, they tell you that it is not going to be there and then call you a liar... The store manager Andrew told me there is no way anyone promised me the items I special ordered.... When I just sat there and told him they did. Their customer service is unbelieveably bad, so I will be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest everyone else do the same (let me recommend joanns fabric off sports arena) . read more

We were here on a Tuesday late afternoon and the atmosphere was not inviting at all. Has been shopping here and the one in Mission Valley, definitely worth to drive the extra miles as far as the shopping experience and store presentation. Most of the staff we encountered seemed to not enjoy their job or gave us the feeling that customers were a nuisance. To confirm this, we had an arrogant, rude, not customer-friendly cashier,"Selena". Not once, she smiled or thanked to express appreciation for customers to shop at Michaels. We had a 40% coupon off for one regular item. It was presented on my smart phone which we used once on my transaction. My mom who was also in line behind me wanted to pay for her item and wanted to use the 40% coupon again, she adamantly said "no, Im not going to use it again". I asked why not, she said it is the same phone being used. I told her what if my mom went to a different cashier? The other cashier would probably honor it and would have not made a big deal. The store manager "John" came in, and was as rude as she was, "no, we can only use a coupon once". I told that that was not our experience before, we were always able to reuse a coupon. Instead of caring for the line we were holding over a 10% discount difference, he had us return all my items and apply the higher discount (40%) on my mom's single item, and the 30% discount on my single item - Talking about sub-standard customer service. Yet, it all made sense why the staff seemed to be not motivated and engaged at this store because attitudes and behaviors are learned from top to bottom, and he clearly lacked the positive attitude set that demontrated a customer-centered service. Learn from us, if you live close to this store but don't mind driving further, we recommend going to other Michaels, and avoid this one. read more

I am a very crafty and creative person, so naturally I should love this store, and I did a few years ago before it turned into the madhouse that it is now. The place is always packed, no matter the day and time. I know they can't control that, but they don't do anything to help it. I have never seen more than 3 registers open, even when there are 15 people in one line. And the store itself is always messy and dirty. Things are always not in the right place, they don't keep the shelves stocked very well, and they provide some of the worst guest service. Unfortunately, this is the only Michaels in my area so I have to go here. I really hope that they hire some new people and start to run the store a little bit better. read more

I needed to return some things and I approach the cashier where we're able to do returns and she RUDELY said "I'm closed." So I get in line and there were at least ten people in front of me with only cash register open. REALLY NOW? and the girl that told me she was closed saw that there was a long line but she decided that it would be a better idea to go wander off in the store and when the single cashier called for her, the wandering girl came back and started sighing so loud as if she didn't want to be there. Last night my family and I wanted to make a quick stop there...and by quick i mean quick. my little brother who is 6 years old suffers from sever autism. so when we go to stores its tuff for him ..sensory overloud and he usually screams (really loud) kicks .. all of the above...while most stores usually give us the stink eye not understanding he isnt a kid whos just throwing a tantrum, hes autistic, this store did not. they allowed us to go to the head of the line, very helpful and understanding staff.... unlike walmart where they either look or act like hes not allowed to go ahead of the line... when california does allow that for people with disabilities read more

Experienced my worst customer service...so much so that I did not purchase anything that I went to buy. I will take my business elsewhere! Went to Michael's to purchase a new frame for a print that I had. The print was currently in another frame and I needed to remove it @ the store so I could accurately measure it for the new frame. The removal required a screw driver. I asked the woman at the frame counter if I could borrow a screw driver. She told me that they do not lend out their tools. I stated that I would not leave the counter and remove the screws right in front of her and she again stated that it was store policy not to lend out their tools. I then asked if one of the the employees could remove the screws for me and she stated that I would be charged for the removal. I informed her that I wanted to purchase a frame and needed to remove the print to do so and she again stated that she would not lend me a screw driver. I then asked to speak with a manager so that the store would not lose a sale. She stated she was the manager. I then left without purchasing anything. I will never make a purchase @ this store and I will let others know of my experience. read more

great place..endless possibilities. .awesome quality. .its just a darn shame that the employees are subjected to such harsh treatment by the management team..there are times that employees need to be reprimanded , but never ever ever in the harsh manner and in front of customers... never break them down.. in front of customers.. there are always better more appropriate ways of delegation. .it just seemed to me that the maturity level of management falls far below the Michaels quality I see on the aisle. shame. hope this one review creates a small ripple , that someone just might see. read more
