Loved this place! Such a cool gallery. We were visiting PS for the first time and were drawn into this gallery. Michael was there and he was talking with some other visitors at first. He made sure to connect with us afterwards too. He and his team were both greeting and talking to everyone. That friendliness made for a relaxing and casual atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable too. We are shipping back the "Slick Black City" ceramic vase which the shop took care of so we could keep exploring the city. 10/10 experience. Will be back! read more

One of the funnest stores I have shopped at in Palm Springs. Beautiful glassware and artwork, but what really caused our merriment is the wall of witty, sarcastic, and downright hilarious coasters. There is something for everyone, and my husband and I had to buy one that was perfect for a friend. The staff is very friendly and enjoyed our laughter. It was too crowded on the day we visited to fit in to the back room, so we will be back. read more

Best Gallery and the best experience. I was window shopping recently and saw many treasures I was very interested in knowing more about, unfortunately my days in town were their closed days. When I got home I reached out and purchased a piece of art that i had seen displayed in the window. They were so quick to respond and I received the piece within days. I then requested a favor (description card) not only did they send it to me, they sent 2 on good frame able card stock. I love, love my gumball machine and I am very excited to visit the gallery when they are open. Thank you Michael Weems Collection for the perfect customer experience. read more

I walked into Michael's Art store just to ask a question and walked out of there with 6 beautiful hand-blown art glasses. I don't know anything about art but the kindness and the sense of humor Michael showed even though I was not a customer turned me into a customer. In other words, the appreciation of the artist made his art pieces special. Stop by to have a fun chat with Michael and check out his creative art work. read more

I attempted to enter this business today and have a conversation with the manager in regards to his offensive sign in the window regarding the unvaccinated. I asked him why he would post a sign in the window stating "must wear a mask to enter. We can all thank the unvaccinated." I attempted to inform him the CDC has stated the vaccinated can still spread Coronavirus. Before I could inform him on this I was quickly silenced as he proclaimedt "it's science" and then shuf the door in my face. This type of hateful rhetoric is divisive, promotes hate and I find it personally offensive. #unity Here is a link from the CDC. it's science https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html read more

What a gem! A must see gallery if you are in Palm Springs! We stumbled upon this gallery during our honeymoon trip in Palm Springs, the incredible original artwork by Michael Weems is nothing short of inspiring... He has several different mediums, so I'll perusing through the gallery it is extra impressive to know all of the work is done by one talented artist. For sale they have all the originals and pieces by Michaels as well as many ceramic pieces by Jonathan Adler, which pair so amazingly with his work and make great gifts. We were lucky enough when we were there to meet the artist himself, his associate represented his gallery so well and we were incredibly impressed and excited to meet the artist! If you're looking for a unique piece of art, we highly recommend this gallery and the collections by Michael Weems, he also has prints and small (hilarious) coasters which are great for gifts! read more

The gallery is a one of a kind collection of eclectic items that reflect the creativity, personality and sense of humor of the artist. There are items of interest throughout the space and I have always found the perfect gift for those friends of mine who profess to have everything and always find a must-have purchase for myself, too. You won't get and out without the story about the history of or inspiration for the photos, sculptures or jewelry on display. Michael always regales me with a good story and a hearty laugh!!! A visit to Palm Springs is not complete unless it includes a visit to Weems World!! I give it five stars. read more

Michael is my newest addition to my collection of best friends. He and I both joked in filthy jokes. The colours of the place attracted me as my hubby and I walked to ward another gallery to pick up a sculpture we bought earlier. On the way back to the car I had to stop in because the trays and vintage circus display in the window screamed, "girl you better get your ass in here and cool off then buy some sh!t". Thus I followed the orders I was given. Immediately I loved the tray I saw do three nude guys peeling into urinals, but Michael steered to to the better "candy tray" with the X-ray of a BJ. My brain screamed "must have!!!!" Yes I'm classy. Immediately I put that at the cash wrap. As I was walking there I saw these awesome metal sculptures looking like paper cranes or airplanes on the wall. Brain again voiced "get those now!" So I did. Then I saw rings that were much too big for any human finger and I joked with said proprietor and my husband blushed and tried to hush me. Yes I'm an embarrassment. So then we went into the awesome room with the photos on the vintage car scraps and I was in awe. Though I was unable to purchase the one I wanted (right now anyway) we walked away with a beautiful print of the sign with the girls diving. I'm headed back to PS next month with a bunch of girlfriends and you better believe I'm stopping by this establishment. Get ready to talk Michael I'm coming! Xo read more

We (Ryan &Jackie) had an amazing time exploring this art gallery in downtown Palm Springs. This gallery has fantastic paintings and photographs, hilariously creative dinnerware and coasters and unique, affordable jewelry! But the best part was getting to meet the artist Michael (and Nelson you too!!) who Jackie believes is her long lost brother If you are out exploring in downtown PS this is a must stop!! Don't ask him his opinion on David Yurman..... But do talk about Depeche Mode!! This image is of Jackie's new necklace that Michael made out of sheets of metal he found in a car. The fabulous duo of Michael Weems and Nelson is absolutely the best. Michael's spunky personality and creative art work makes this Palm Springs gallery one of a kind! After admiring his handiwork from outside (I always seem to pass in the evening when he's closed), I finally made it into the store one Sunday afternoon. Michael is charming and fun to talk to. We chatted about Palm Springs and restaurants. He walked us into his Autoerotica gallery next door. The pieces are pretty cool, but my current rental situation won't let me hang car parts or industrial-size dough hooks. The lamps made from dough hooks were what drew the bf and I to the windws the first time; maybe if/when we buy a place we can come back for one. In his collection, Weems has beautiful plates with PS architecture, mid-century modern items, and photos of Joshua trees. We chose a PS plate and I vowed to come back for some jewelry when I got another paycheck. It's worth a visit to see the unique items Weems creates. read more

Let me start by saying if you are looking for something unique, this is the place to go. The beautiful art, jewelry, and you must see the coasters, you will laugh for sure. It's an experience when you walk into the gallery. Michael himself makes you feel like a friend, when you walk in he greets you and ask you where are you from, and try to be friendly with everyone and he will try to find you the right piece of art for you. When you are at Michael Weems Gallary's you are having fun you're laughing and joking with the staff. I moved to Palm Springs about one year ago and for every event/occasion that I need to bring a gift, I always go there because of the fun and special items they have. All my friends love the gallery, art, and gifts also they love their experience at Michael Weems. Keep up the great work. read more

Palm Springs is not a destination without a stop to the Michael Weems Collection for a huge selection of unique art and gifts. His eye for design goes above and beyond the usual gallery. For over 10 years my friends and family make it a go-to for Palm Springs specific art, photographs, MCM iconic architecture, elegant table top and wine glasses that compliment any decor, and coasters so funny we cry-laugh every time. If you are lucky enough to meet the artist you'll never forget it. Fans for life. I love that there's a big free parking lot across the street when downtown often gets busy. read more

The Michael Weems Collection has some of the most unique pieces in the Coachella Valley, I make it a point to stop in at least twice a month to check out his new creations. I have purchased several household items (coasters, elegant stemware), jewelry (bracelets, pendants) and artwork from the gallery as gifts and for my personal use. Michael always has a story to tell about the inspiration for his creations and his acerbic wit is guaranteed to be a source of laughter. Nelson is very welcoming which makes the gallery feel like a home away from home. I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

I have purchased several pieces from Michael including photographs, sculpture, and serving pieces. They always pique interest from friends and I regularly send them to Michael to get wonderful pieces. The new stemware is spectacular. I liked his work so much I commissioned him to take photographs of the Chase Bank Building, a modernist masterpiece in Palm Springs. He did. Wonderful intriguing pictures that he blew up, and framed perfectly for me. They hang pride of place in my living room. If you want something that is Palm Springs without screaming tourist, this is the place to come. read more

This gallery is a gem. Fantastic art. Many pieces have a hilarious naughty edge to them. Great statement pieces to perfect hostess gifts. This gallery has it all. We were walking down the street and my boyfriend saw a sign that said "auto" and I saw the word "erotic" and we were both intrigued. We must have walked through the door on the right day, because the owner/artist Michael was inside and gave us a 2 hour tour. Yes, he does a photo process that mounts images to car parts, but what really intrigued me was the other objects. Spread across the floor was a collection of commercial whisked that had been turned into light fixtures.- really stunning. We walked through a doorway and could not believe there was an additional space also full of Michael's talents. Jewelry cut with blow torches, x-ray images mounted on porcelain platters, car parts that had been powder coated and fashioned into bowls, light fixtures.......the merch didn't stop there! He called me out for being an artist because I was asking weird questions that only an artist would ask. Fact is, my house is full of other artist's work and none of my own. I am so glad we ignored the stucco facade and tinted glass of this little gem. What is inside is what counts! Michael is a character and his pieces spoke to us so much, we walked away with two! They should arrive at our doorstep this week! This is a must visit in Palm Springs! read more

The Michael Weems Collection is filled with molten metal scupltures for your home. On our first trip to Palm Springs we strolled the shopping area. We found Michael Weems Collection. Michael was there and showed us all the items and works of art he had. He was fun and energetic. Some of the background stories were fascinating. I found one piece for our home. Then I wanted more. His coaster line was so unique, I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to buy, so I deferred to Michael to point out his favorites and we went from there. Great customer service, fun energy. You will want to stop by this place and if anything, take home a coaster. It's already a conversation piece and I've been home for 2 days. read more

Even if you are not the type of person who goes into art galleries, the Michael Weems Collection is a great place. His pieces are fantastic and he is far from my idea of the standard "too good for you" gallery owner/artist. He is warm and charming and seems to really enjoy having people in, even if you're buying small items or not purchasing at the moment. We originally went in to see some hanging light pieces and found so many cool things. His x-ray pieces are great and the jewelry unique. But what you'll be dying to own are the Autoerotica pieces. The color, subject matter and materials are so brilliant together. On your next trip to Palm Springs you should go in. His stuff is great and HE is even better! read more

We had a fantastic time here- we got to meet the man himself and had a wonderful experience. Such a unique and fun collection!!

I was walking by the gallery in Palm Springs and the Autoerotica collection caught my attention. The collection is made from mixing together vintage automobile bodies with photography. It sounds confusing (and is a bit confusing to try to describe with no visual aids) but it is breathtakingly beautiful. Michael (who was there, and is a sweet, talkative, extremely down-to earth guy) explained that a photographer friend of his had taken the photographs, most of which were stunning photographs of iconic signs around Los Angeles. The photos were then printed out in a very large opaque format and pasted onto the metal hoods and siding of these auto's as canvases. You can see the car color, rust, and so forth through the film, which is especially wonderful and the way Michael went about pasting the photos on in pieces creates a pattern and dimension that is very eye-catching and modern. I fell in LOVE. I wished I could afford a piece but alas, I was unable to purchase one. THANKFULLY, Michael also makes some affordable pieces! He designs smaller magnetic installations, cufflinks, and beautiful jewelry. Being the woman that I am, I walked away with a lovely necklace. A plain black rope holding a chunky, non-uniform piece of metal that Michael had hand crafted into a one of a kind piece for me. And so now I get to wear art around my neck... and not just any art, art made from a vintage cadillac. So there. I win :) read more

Pro: This place has some cool large pieces, particularly the hood art in the connected gallery. Con: The smaller pieces that pay the rent are mostly just super cheap dishes with popular photographers' work pasted on. Can we say "copyright infringement," boys and girls? Also, the people who work there--or at least the people who were working there last summer--are shockingly rude. I couldn't believe the nasty, catty things I heard them say about customers, well within earshot of their targets. read more

The man is talented!!!! Great eye for things...whether it be his jewelry or the art pieces on the wall. We had an enjoyable afternoon at this gallery...talking with Michael about his inspirations, his work, and life choices. My partner was smitten by a piece in the "housewares" section and bought it after trying it on...I predict many years of enjoyment. I can't wait for our next visit to PS...would love to get a pair of cufflinks next time. OHHHH...and the gallery is BEAUTIFUL!!!...great and novel presentation of the items...just truly amazing! read more

So I went in just randomly shopping, beautiful art gallery, and a shop filled with lots of unique dish-ware, jewelry and other fun art pieces. I didn't get anything, but I went back a month later for an item that stayed on my mind. I went back and luckily it was still there! I picked it up and walked right to the counter. The man working was the artist and he said I couldn't buy it until he told me how he got the idea for it. He was so friendly and funny and honestly I wish he was my friend. I'll be back and I love what I got and put it out as soon as I got home. I love it there and I wish there were more places like it. Thank you for your art! read more

The wondrous world of Michael Weems(Autoerotic is connected too!)! Walking into these galleries is like walking into an adult version of Willy Wonka's Factory. My eyes wonder from wall to wall and room to room. There is so much to explore, from the MCM pieces, hilarious coasters and prints, beautiful and bright eye catching vases and sculptures, jewelry made from vintage car parts, metallic print photographs framed and on vintage car parts. That's only some of the things you will find as you enter the galleries and wonderful world of the amazingly talented Michael Weems. I have just bought my second larger piece of his work for my walls, they are beautiful and so intriguing. Guests always have compliments on the pieces when they visit. I came in here by happenstance. After just arriving in the desert for Modernism Week and having brunch at a restaurant near by I stumbled in here. I met the owners and the designers who were friendly and elaborated a little into what they do. They do something unique with their jewelry. They up-cycle vintage car parts and make one of a ind pieces. I am fond of handmade as I too am a crafter and design jewelry with repurposed vintage materials. So, when they explained what they did I grew more in love with their shop.. It's worth a look! read more

Really enjoyed the acerbic wit displayed in some works like the coasters and jewelry trays. Good mix of artsy housewares, deconstructed auto part er, personal jewelry; and photo prints on auto metal like hoods & etc. For bakers or steam punks, industrial mixer paddles turned into lamps & chandeliers are phenomenal. I missed out on a nice little tour because I had to take a work call, but I loved the shop. read more

Loved this gallery! Super fun art, and I love that there is the gallery with big pieces next door but then a more costly way to take home a piece of his art in the story next door with trays, coasters, posters and much more to choose from to take home. I would have spent thousands here if I had it to blow! We came home with a few trays as gifts and a set of coasters with some cool cactus/Joshua tree photos on them. Also, Michael make every visit a blast when you walk in. But, this is a must for anyone (except prudes) when visiting town. read more
