Assured me that my meningioma was likely not cancer, and gave me the option to decide for myself if i should wait or have it taken out now. I opted for now because i didn't want to see what other symptoms i would have to endure in the future if we just left it alone, and since i am still relatively young, i didn't want to wait until my later years where it could become more complicated. Most neurosurgeons suggest waiting until they get bigger, and until symptoms become more severe. I am three weeks post op, and i am amazed at how well this is healing, and even remarked at how tidy the incision is. I expected a huge gaping scar. But this scar is so clean and minimal. I just wish they didn't have to shave off as much hair as they did, but it must have been necessary, so i cannot hold that against them. Here's a pic of my head 3 weeks post op. I've had many surgeries in my lifetime and this one, while being the most invasive surgery i have had to date, is the nicest looking scar that i have. It's really thin. I had a great experience with the Neuro science clinic in Tacoma overall. Their staff are nice, the waiting room is comfortable. The two times i had been to their clinic, the wait time was reasonable.

They copied my phone number from the referral wrong and didn't try to get a hold of me though my email or contact my doctor to verify my contact information, they just gave up trying to contact me after 1 phone call with the wrong number, so after a week I finally called them. After 30 minutes on hold I was told that the doctor I had been referred to had left. They had randomly picked another doctor and needed to transfer my call. So i sat on hold again and the system eventually disconnected me. I called back and waited another 30 minutes only to be told that to use the doctor I wanted they would have to wait another day while they asked permission. So I called back the next day and waited another 30 minutes on hold and was told they couldn't schedule me because I hadn't had imaging done yet. I had told them the previous time I called that imaging was done we were just waiting on the radiologist to comment and release it, but apparently nobody noted that and the person I was currently talking to didn't care. So now if I want to use them I will have to wait until my results have posted call back, waiting on hold again, to maybe get an appointment. I think I will find another provider instead.

The main reason I suggest being a local is because if you need to get ahold of anyone in the office, you'll need to just go there in person. I wouldn't suggest calling unless you have some sort of fetish of sitting on hold for eternity. Once you get there they are very helpful....... Now that you have your appointment and your ready to get seen next month, you are on your way to feeling great again. NOW... don't think for one second that you got to bypass the on hold thing just because you live in town. Once you get to your appointment next month and you have a seat in this very spacious waiting room, take a look around. You will notice there will be 1 maybe 2 people ahead of you, at this moment you think to yourself ( this will be quick) lol. This is the point where you will get to wait somewhere between 1-1 1/2 hours till someone brings you to the examination room, but don't worry the fun doesn't stop there. Once in the room you will get to wait at least another 30 to 45min. If you need to get some shopping done or feel like going to a nice sit down restaurant while you wait, just run up stairs check in and go do your thing, you will have plenty of time

I have spent a lot of time with, and gotten to know, all of the three PTs and the support staff. Every one of them actually care about my success and treat me like was the most important patient they have. My fiancee is stationed at JBLM and needs to continue his PT. He called this place after finding this place through his insurance he gave them a call and interrogated them, which is his standard procedure. His first impression? The receptionist picked up and sounded confident, a plus in his books. Well the result of that call is that he became a patient! He has been here about 6 times. He comes in, signs in and doesn't even get a chance to sit down as they already call him in! The only person who is ever in the waiting room for more than 2 minutes is me! I've seen multiple different patients come in and they are all treated the same. The ladies are kind and courtesy and have a bond with each patient. They are even kind to me, offering me coffee on some days. And they spend about 1.5 hours with my fiancee, who is recovering from a rotator cuff surgery. They give him a heated massage in the beginning and towards the end make him do exercises in their exercise room, which has a couple of flat beds, weights, a lat pull down machine, stair stepper, treadmill and other equipment. They take therapy seriously! Parking is a breeze, restrooms don't need keys, scheduling is simple. I and he have no conplaints about this place. They even have a fresh newspaper and ample magazines! I truly hope more people come to this office. Be on the lookout for his review!

Did some research on orthopedic surgeons and Dr. Gray popped up…read more Researched him and learned he is part of the Stryker Team (means nothing as it means he uses their products because they are ethical in their manufacture of products) and has been for quite some time. I was interviewing multiple doctors and he was just one of a few. He answered all my questions and they were extensive. He took the time to explain the procedure and what approach he was going to take. What recovery would look like and all the complications from a major surgery. His compassion was evident and he did not pressure me to chose him. I visited the other doctors and Dr. Richard Grey stood heads and shoulders above them all. I just had the first of two procedures, the procedure went as planned and a good prognosis is indicated. So when it comes time for the second surgery I have no doubt Dr. Gray will be as successful. Gig harbor front desk young lady rude uncaring -first thing she said to me when I asked her if they…read morecould sign a family leave form is "that is a $10 form" I had no idea what she was talking about-I explained that I had filled out everything on the leave form. all it needed was a signature so that our son could take a few days off to help with hip surgery recovery- she said "it'll take at least 10 to 14 days to get the signature" even though there was no one in the waiting room and no one was busy ...so I left without the signature and will have to figure out postop home care on our own- talk about a rude uncaring front line staff. Im aware Dr. Gray is an excellent surgeon but the people managing his Gig Harbor office at the front desk are really awful.
