When I came to see Tess last November for the free 30 minute consultation, she told me that I'd be divorced in 4 months, as my divorce is straight forward with no contesting from my stbx. My ex has opted not to use a solicitor as we are amicable and is happy with what's been agreed between us. Fast forward 10 months and I'm still not divorced, nor do I have any idea where things are at with my divorce. The delay isn't down to me or my stbx, or the system, it's solely down to Tess. Basically since the beginning, I have had to chase for updates, as weeks and months pass with no updates from her. I've lost count how many phone calls I've made to her office in the last 10 months. I'm always told that's she in a meeting or out of the office, and not once has she returned any of my calls....not one! It's unacceptable. It's funny that she can find time in her diary to hold 30 minute free consultations with potential new clients, and I know this for a fact!!! But she's too busy to call me back, or open, read and respond to any of my emails. I've tried to obtain updates from her via email, and over the months I've sent lots, as I'll resend my email every 2-3 weeks. I always request a read receipt so I can see when she's read them. I'll mark them urgent too, but that means nothing to her. She ignores my emails, not even opening them to read. When I call her office when 3-4 weeks have passed, and I've resent the email, I'm told she's just very busy and that my message will be passed on. I've threatened to report Tess to the Legal Ombudsman, but that falls on deaf ears. I've been waiting for her to open my emails now since June. She still hasn't opened any of my emails, nor returned any of my calls. All I want is an update on where things are. There's no excuse for all the huge delays at each stage of my divorce by Tess, or the continuing lack of communication. Tess is unprofessional, ignorant, incompetent, and clearly can't handle her workload. To ignore a clients emails and phone messages continuously is downright rude and frankly appalling. I will never recommend Tess to anyone. The stress and anxiety Tess is causing me is not what I would expect from a good solicitor. The truth is, she isn't a good solicitor.
