I normally don't like to leave negative reviews but if I could give this business 0 stars I would. The business owner (Magel) is very passive aggressive and does not understand standard business practices. I went here before a few times and the last time it took me over 3 weeks to get an appointment after tirelessly calling. Every time I've visited, Magel has been extremely passive aggressive (not just with me but other customers) I ignored it because I am non-confrontational and avoid conflict at all costs. This last time however, she yelled at me because I apparently wasn't following her instructions well enough when she was threading me. I was very upset and hurt as a customer that she treated me this way in front of other customers. In fact, some of the other customers sitting there looked at me and were equally as shocked by her treatment to me. Upon check out, I told her that I found it very difficult to get an appointment with her. I told her that I called and called for nearly 2 weeks straight and no one picked up. I mentioned this experience politely during check-out and suggested some ways to improve her process- like perhaps including a voice recording informing customers the business is closed. To my surprise she got very defensive and upset and told me that I don't understand her business and was wrong. I was taken aback that an owner would respond this way to constructive feedback. Anyway, I didn't think anything of it and waited a few weeks to cool down from the very bad taste she left in my mouth. To make matters worse, a few moments ago I called the business to make an appointment, she asked me for my name and number and she refused to make an appointment for me. Literally, she said "I cannot take you", I told her I didn't understand, and she said "I cannot take you here". I'm absolutely shocked. In fact, I will be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau. I really don't wish any bad energy or vibes on any business but if she continues behaving this way, her business will fail. Mark my words. If a business posts hours on their door, they should adhere to them (I understand there are always exceptions but this is not the case at this place. Also, it is common business practice that customers who have always been respectful and loyal are NEVER denied a service. Especially those who politely provided their feedback and left a good tip. Last I checked in the U.S. we don't penalize people for simply providing commentary, although that may be the case in other countries. I will be sure to take advantage of our free market and seek other threading salons. Yodi threading being one of them. My first appointment went fine, I didn't have a long wait, she was fast and skilled. I was happy, and scheduled a second appointment. For the second appointment, I showed up on time, waited 15 minutes, she never showed up. I called and left a voicemail to find out what was going on, then I left. She returned my call that afternoon, gave me an excuse, apologized and rescheduled for the following week at 3:30. These things happen, I was disappointed but gracious. Two days before my scheduled appt, she called to "confirm" my appointment but asked me to come in that same day she was calling, which I could not. Then she asked if I could come the next day, which I also could not. She did not call to confirm anything she called to reschedule. I asked her to please accommodate me as I could not do what she was asking. As a compromise, I agreed to change my appointment time to 4:15. I was 15 minutes late, and that's on me. I take full responsibility for being late. I walked in as she was finishing with a client. I was next. She seemed very impatient that I was late, I apologized because I was late. I apologized just like she did a week earlier when she did not show up for me. It took maybe 7 minutes to do my eyebrows and upper lip, but in that time, I had to hear 3 times how she was doing me a favor by coming on that day to accommodate me and wait for me and she would have left. The only reason she waited was because of what happened the week before. She seemed irritated that I asked her to do my upper lip as well, which is what she did for me the first time and what I said I wanted done when I made the appointment. Imagine asking for the service you said you wanted in the first place, the nerve of me!!! I was completely confused as there were two people there when I got in (she was working on one and the other was seated), she was literally working on one of them, so why was my being late such an issue? Additionally, she seemed to forget that my appointment was scheduled at an earlier time and she pressured me into changing it to accommodate HER schedule. To be clear, a favor is when you give me a ride to the airport, not when you are running a business and you wait 15 minutes for a paying client whom you blew off the week before. The exchange of money negates the idea that our interaction was a favor. What you did was in the best interest of your business and out of a desire to be paid. And reminding me of it repeatedly was just passive-aggressive and unnecessary. The most upsetting thing about my interaction with this woman is that when she didn't show up for my appointment I was understanding and gracious, despite being inconvenienced. Things happen, I get it. But when I was late, she didn't have the decency to show me the same courtesy. I suppose we can only behave according to our upbringing and education. This review has nothing to do with her talent. She deserves 5 stars for her skill. It's her professionalism and attitude that is grossly lacking. I have read every single review here and she takes zero accountability for any complaints, so I know the response I can expect. Everyone is wrong...except her. I am sad because I truly like her work and did not want to leave a bad review. But I work too hard to have someone take my money while being low-key passive aggressive towards me. She asked me to look and I told her to fix my right eyebrow. She then remembered that I also asked for my forehead to be threaded so she started doing that and she cut me. She kept threading but kept using aloe on that spot so I asked if I was bleeding and she said yes and that she was truly sorry. So at this point I asked her to stop and to leave it as it is. I knew my eyebrows looked a little off, and it wasn't until I noticed that chunk that was threaded off :( I spent +6 months growing my eyebrows for this! No man :/ She did a good job on my left eyebrow, but now I have to shade in my brows (something I never do) to even them out. Avoid going here when she's busy, seems like having multiple customers back to back is what caused this. If you're ever in the Orlando area I recommend KIKI-Eyebrow threading. I hadn't gotten my eyebrows thread in a while. I used to get them waxed so I was a little anxious about how much it would hurt. I used to get threading done a lot before and I know how much it can hurt but Magel is so careful. She's meticulous and doesn't tug at the skin. When I first found this place across from FIU I was so happy. I think they open until 7, and the owner really seemed to know what she was doing. I went back the next time, and this time there was a different lady threading brows. I told her that I wanted my eyebrows thick and to be left in a straight shape and lied back and let her do her thing. Unfortunately that day I left with curved brows, and she threaded one eyebrow so far in from the bridge of my nose. I was seriously upset when I left and I'm still upset because its taken me over 6 more threading sessions to fix the mistake. This place needs to be careful about who they hire, and they should really listen to what the client wants instead of just threading brows based on what look they like. read more
