SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I will make my comment short and sweet. What you taste in the tour is not the same tequila you bring home. The tequila they give you wrapped and ready for transport is terrible tasting crap. It does not even compare to the cheapest tequila I've ever tasted and I purchase the $129 bottle. I can only imagine how much nastier the other bottles taste. Do not buy from them! Buy known brand tequilas, so you know what you are getting.

Great tequila tasting menu. It was small but they have a large variety to choose from. They also have food preferably tacos. They have a nice staff and very clean. Try it.

I can't begin to explain the wonder of this quaint family owned business. A restaurant and Tequila manufacturer, Jose', my guide, explained to me the background into his family business which his father started many years ago. I stood with delight as the older gentleman disclosed and demonstrated the worth and process of fermenting the different Agave plants. He spoke English more plain and as distinctly as any American, an impressive display for a man whose primary language was clearly Spanish which was invariably exposed as he often rolled his R's and conspicuously drug many of his consonants.. He had my complete attention as I was captivated with the techniques used to create such a internationally beloved spirit. After he spent 20 to 30 minutes guiding about the small mock of a Agave hacienda, Jose' stood before a table of several of his wonderfully crafted Tequilas. Samples of each cask were poured into a small plastic shot to be consumed. The first 4 had liqueur kind of taste, light, sweet and remarkably savory. The final 2 a more traditional or shall I say customary type, much stronger than the others but still exceptionally mellow. I will return dine, drink and fully immerse myself in all that his shop has to offer as it was the most enduring and momentous juncture my entire stay on the island.

The guy in the shop who was hysterical!!

A fun experience. In all fairness we can not really critique the tour because we were there very early and before many people were on the island so it was just the two of us. Our guide Santos did explain the differences in types and a bit about the process but we didn't walk around with him to go over the exact ways how, as depicted in the large photos in the back. We DID however get to taste the family made tequila and I must say it was very smooth. We also ordered margaritas and the coolest part is you can take home the hand painted terra cotta cup they make it in! Until I read these reviews today (after the fact), we didn't even know there was a restaurant! Maybe we will try it on another trip. The gift shop was a blast. I didn't catch the guys name but we had a hell of a fun time hanging out and haggling pricing with the guy on a bunch of items. There is a picture we posted here of him holding a flute with a sombrero near his "man parts". Shows his personality. A bit off topic... There were random animals out back which gave it a petting zoo feel, and when we asked about them, we were told they were pets. Burro, goats, birds, bunnies... cute. Overall we would probably go back and get a true tour and try some food... maybe even buy the tequila!

The tour guide was informative and entertaining. Well worth the time while you're walking around Cozumel.

After seeing the great reviews here, we schlepped a couple extra blocks (despite a bit of rain) to visit for lunch. Well worth it. We liked Colores y Sabores so much that we returned on another day. Equally fantastic. The Margaritas (I got Mango) are great. Don't ask for frozen mango margarita because, although they will do it, it lessens the flavor of the fresh mango. Tried it both ways, so I can say for sure, lol. The Beans are something you do not want to miss. Something special about them here. The guacamole and pico de Gallo and chips are the way you'd hope: fresh, crunchy, not greasy and just enough pop. Enchiladas are fantastic - and there are three options for how you can get it. The Mole is outstanding - a little smoky, tons of rich flavor. I rarely order fajitas - but I wanted to go simple one day. Perfect. Tender chicken, and caramelized onions and peppers. Try corn or flour tortillas -- or both, like I did. Another day, I tried the tortilla soup and loved it. Soothing, simple, with strips of chicken and crunchy tortilla. We also got the chicken tacos, which were great. 3, with beans and guacamole on corn tortillas. Our fave, though, was the Chile Relleno. Heavenly. Ground beef stuffed inside and this dish was as satisfying and delicious as anything we encountered on the trip. The Carrot Cake! Definitely recommend that, too. Just sweet enough, and homemade.

The chicken mole enchiladas were outstanding -- the mole was a rich chocolate mole with the perfect amount of spice. You could really taste the depth of the sauce, not too sweet, not too spicy, just perfectly balanced and incredibly flavorful. We also tried the shrimp alioli, and that was just as impressive. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the garlic alioli sauce was rich without being too heavy. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. The atmosphere is beautiful -- lush garden setting, relaxing, and it really feels like you're dining somewhere special rather than just another tourist spot. Service was attentive and friendly the whole time. If you're in Cozumel, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I would go back just for the mole alone.

It was basically raw cucumber filled with half-cooked white onion and (maybe) spinach, smothered in a white cream sauce. I took one bite and couldn't eat another. Honestly one of the nastiest things I've ever been served at a restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the tortilla soup and it came out cold. The other "courses" were minimal: about three bites of pineapple icee, plus a few pear slices with candied nuts and goat cheese (that part was fine, but nowhere near enough to feel like a real meal). We had one drink, one bottle of water, and with tip the total was around $100. For that price, this was a complete waste of money. 0/10 recommend--very disappointing and we won't be back. Too bad- beautiful building and good service. The food was just gross.

They have a couple of great regional Yucatan dishes here, like the Molcajete and the Cochinita. San Miguel de Cozumel is admittedly not the most beautiful or interesting Mexican city to do touristy stuff in, so it was a treat to find some great regional cuisine to try. I was with a group, so we ordered the Molcajete (basically, mixed grilled meats in a stew), ceviche, and cochinita (stewed pulled pork), along with tortillas. All of it was great. The sauces, from the salsa to the stew broths to the ceviche sauce, were all terrific. There was mention that they dishes were spicy, but in the end, none of the stuff was super-spicy. Furthermore, the spicy stuff was often a salsa served on the side, or a whole roasted pepper that wasn't integrated into the dish, so you could calibrate your spiciness to your taste. Bathrooms: Basic, but clean and functional.
