I ordered a maracuyá smoothie, and after drinking almost the entire thing, I noticed there was a HUGE cockroach inside my cup. When my mom went to show the owner the cockroach, instead of being concerned or apologizing, he questioned how it got there and actually suggested that we may have put it in the cup ourselves. I was absolutely disgusted and shocked by the entire situation. We were so grossed out afterward that we ended up throwing away ALL the food we had purchased from the other vendors because we no longer felt comfortable eating anything from the market. Please stay away from this place. Finding a huge cockroach in a drink is bad enough, but the way the owner handled the situation made it even worse. I would never want anyone else, especially a child, to have this experience.

Prices are on the high side for arepas, but not outlandish - We paid roughly $70 for both of us, including tax and tip. With the level of service we received, and the fact that this is not a take-out stand, it's worth the money. Good food, good service, decent prices... all pluses. The chicken empanada (a bit greasy) was still delicious. Staff was friendly, mostly Spanish speaking. They greeted us with a smile.
