I had a less than ideal experience with Mexlaw firm during the review of my real estate contract and due diligence process. Unfortunately, the review and due diligence were not conducted in a timely manner, causing some stress and uncertainty on my part. Additionally, the attorney handling my transaction was primarily available by email, which led to delayed responses when I had questions or concerns.
The most concerning part of my experience was when the contract due diligence deadline came, and the attorney had not completed the necessary due diligence. This situation left me in a difficult position, and I had to rely on my broker's attorney to determine whether I should proceed with the transaction to avoid losing my earnest money.
When I expressed my concerns about the delay and the attorney's availability for questions, the attorney did apologize and offered me a $200 discount, which I appreciated and accepted. However, there was a lack of clarity regarding a deadline to provide my bank account information for the partial refund. When I reached out to their admin person, I was informed that the deadline for the partial refund had already passed, and unfortunately, I never received the promised partial refund.
Furthermore, I found that the fees charged for their services were higher than what I would have expected to pay for a lawyer to review a real estate purchase agreement. Overall, my experience with Mexlaw firm was not as smooth and efficient as I had hoped, and I believe there is room for improvement in terms of timely communication, meeting deadlines, and pricing transparency. read more
