I cannot overstate how frustrating and poorly managed our experience was with this title company. Their incompetence, lack of communication, and complete failure to manage time-sensitive tasks ultimately delayed our closing by an entire week.
Throughout the process, critical documents were not prepared on time, including the closing documents and mortgage payoff statement. Staff members were retiring or transitioning out without properly handing off responsibilities, resulting in mass confusion and a complete lack of accountability.
Most concerning was the company's claim that they had contacted our mortgage lender in a timely manner, when that was not consistent with what we subsequently learned. The payoff request was mishandled, despite the importance of obtaining it well ahead of closing.
On the actual closing day, it became painfully obvious that no one had properly coordinated the transaction or ensured that the necessary paperwork was ready. What should have been a straightforward closing turned into an unnecessarily stressful ordeal, with a full week's delay due to failures that were entirely avoidable with basic planning and follow-through.
A title company's fundamental responsibility is to coordinate a smooth, timely, and accurate closing. This company failed at every level. The lack of urgency, organization, communication, and accountability was astounding.
I would strongly caution anyone considering this company for a real estate transaction, especially one with a firm closing deadline.
