As an alum, I couldn't be more proud to see how it's grown in the last few years. During my undergrad years in the early to mid 2000s, I spent my time bumping between classes, buildings and, for a while there, majors. There was always a friendly face, it seemed, willing to strike up a conversation in front of the student center or library or just waiting outside of a classroom. Back then, UNO was easing out of being an urban commuter campus. The first rounds of dorms had been built and the campus was just starting to come to life with around-the-clock amenities. Still, the school was entrenched in Division II sports, living in the shadow of UN-L and the Huskers just a few miles away in Lincoln. Now, UNO has a full fledged D-I sports program, riding high off of the hockey team's first appearance in the Frozen Four. Both the Dodge Street and Pacific Street campuses are rapidly filling in parking lots with new educational, administrative, recreational and residential buildings, anchored on the south end with Aksarben Village and the soon-to-be-opened Baxter Arena. At the end of my time at UNO, I wound up with an English degree and a great job shortly after graduating. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Funny thing, as good as I had it, there's no better time than right now to be a Mav!

Staff really do seem to actually care about you. A ton. Place is of course clean, but even the areas for waiting and non-patients is wonderful. They have like a dozen different places to eat here. Made my husband really happy. He didn't have to leave the hospital to get food. Plus they offer super cheap housing for family of patients. And since we live 2hrs from here, having that was great. I go back about every 3ish weeks for procedures and I don't exactly look FORWARD to it, but I'm not anxious or anything either. I don't want to use hospitals in my hometown anymore for anything.

By the time I realized we were studying "Formal" or "Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)" a week had past (but there was only two classes a week). (When I spoke Egyptian, the teacher said, "none of that here". Notice I said "teacher"; she was a recent transplant from Iraq and obviously, didn't speak Egyptian.) So I dropped the course - I'd already had much MSA - but good ol' UNO charged me $600.00 dollars WHICH I REFUSE TO PAY! As this was a FALSE representation of a course AND was not even taught by a professor. Mind you, I have, and had at the time, a MA from the U of A Tucson and had studied at the American University in Cairo and had worked professionally with UW Seattle teachers to produce language-learning CDs in Arabic, Persian, Hebrew and Hieroglyphs. UNO denied my appeal - EVEN after I got the author of the text book UNO was using for the course - to write a letter on my behalf stating that the text is clearing teaching the Egyptian Arabic dialect, and NOT Formal or MSA, and that the syllabus for the course did not match the textbook. And now I can't get my transcripts so I can find work to do at home: I'm disabled with Lupus currently. I can't afford their $600 dollar scam. UNO is an unfair, money-hungry institution. I've had language courses at U of MI; Portland U; U of WA; U of A Tucson; the American U in Cairo and am in good standing at all. THESE ARE WORTHY, PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITIES; DON'T WAST YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT UNO. THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU - BUT YOUR MONEY.

I highly doubt you want to read a full report of my time at UNMC. Been going for almost 3 years now…read morebecause of liver & kidney disease. I also had a horrible stomach infection treated there. I think I've spent 4months or so total time admitted to the place. Maybe more. 99% of the time I get spectacular service and treatment from amazing doctors. Have only had 1 absolute terrible experience with the ultra sound department. That catastrophe alone is why I took a star away. Several cafes, gift shops, cafeterias, and little bodega-type shops are around the entire hospital. Free valet parking. Amazing people. Beautiful artwork and one beyond-awesome garden area full of blown glass art. Going to the hospital to see that area is worth a trip, even if you don't 'need' to be in the hospital. I live in South Sioux City, NE; two hours away. And I have incredibly easy access to health care in my town and Sioux City, IA. But, I come down to Omaha for my major health needs. That's how good this place is. I'm thankful for the doctors here that literally have saved my life. More than once.

This is a Jesuit University since 1878 . It has a beautiful campus with many medical and health…read morefaculties. Most buildings are historic and classic . A few buildings are new and modern . I love the business administration building ( Mike & Josie Harper Center ) with many new features and designs . I also love the V.J. & Angela Skutt student center . The interior architecture is beautiful. Many corners to study or have a meeting . One level is the hot food restaurants ( Asian and Mexican) and Starbucks . People are very friendly , good manner and respectful. The students have room for self discovery and growth. Like the mottos they craved on the sculpture " Ite Inflammate Omnia" ; " Set The World on Fire " . Go ! Blue Jays !

The firehouse subs is a refreshing change from some of the other closer food options around campus. I've been very pleased with the quality of sandwich's that have come from this place. A is for Art is a gem that we came across about four years ago with our oldest child. We are now…read moresending our third child to this fantastic preschool, and have plans to send our fourth in a couple of years when she becomes of age! Jennifer Borelli is such a kind and creative teacher with her students. She has a focus on learning through the arts, which allows students to express themselves in a number of creative outlets. My children have come home with such beautiful projects! I would have to say that my favorite part of my kids' experiences have been the art openings that are held twice a year. We have a potluck which feels like one big family, and we get to see all of the art our little learners have produced. Another favorite is the field trip to Benson High where the kids get to team up with a high school pottery student to create their own works of art. Though she is focused on learning through art, the kids are still provided with plenty of opportunity to burn off energy through activities in the gymnasium. My kids have come home singing favorite songs and talking about the stories they read. The class sizes are small and diverse, which was wonderful for my kids as this was their first experience with care outside of our home. Our family feel so fortunate to have found A is for Art. It has been such an amazing experience for my kids. I would encourage parents to go visit and consider this wonderful preschool experience for their own children!!

I usually park on the street. The rooms are nice, very peaceful and calm. Massages vary by the therapist which is expected. Some have been incredible, others so-so. I can not share about the student aspect as I have always seen Karen Griger. Karen is a Rolpher, but she also gives regular massages. I have had both rolphing sessions and massage sessions over the years. I'm the type of person if I go to a person and it works I keep going back. I'm also the type of person that doesn't believe in going to regular doctors. I'm unable to take pain meds or ibuprofen due to my ibs and past colitis. I need more natural solutions. Karen is amazing and always gets me out if pain and my body flowing again ; ) most times in one session and sometimes in a few.
