I visited Christ Church over the holiday season and was immediately hooked! The people were so…read moreinviting and welcoming! I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. The congregation is beautifully diverse, and so is the ministerial staff. The music is uplifting, the message is powerful, and I always leave feeling inspired and loved. The Christmas show was absolutely fantastic, which led me to attend a regular Sunday morning service. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and I left feeling empowered, like I could conquer the world. I've been back several times since, and each visit somehow tops the last! Like others have mentioned, the only downside is parking. It's in downtown Montclair, which can get busy. I usually park at a nearby school a couple of blocks away and walk over which is not ideal for everyone, but it works for me. There's some limited street parking, but the best strategy is to attend the first morning service at 9 a.m. and arrive around 8:15-8:30. That way, you can usually snag a spot nearby. Overall, I have little to no complaints. Christ Church offers so much -- life groups, a children's ministry, a teen ministry, a marriage ministry -- so many opportunities to connect and grow. I truly feel at home here and look forward to returning again and again

These lights are very bright and blinding and the church shines them directly into everyone in the pews eyes literally blinding them so that noone can even look towards the stage without going through eye torture and scarring. That is why noone in the pews (especially the center pews) can even look towards the stage without being literally blinded with blind spots immediately forming. That is why everyone has to look down that is sitting in the front or they look at the TV to the side rather than being blinded. It is absolutely absurd. Even the TV monitor in the q room is flashing and blinding. Noone should have to go blind to go to church. There is absolutely no reason for these three bright stage lights specifically to be shining directly towards everyone in the audiences eyes . The only reason I can even think of is so that they can see peoples faces for their video that noone consented to be in!!!! I will not be returning to this selfish church because I will not go blind its definetely not worth it. They could be doing a lot more for all the people that attend this church besides maken them go blind like some cops with three giant flashlights in your face for no reason. The Prayer of Jabez comes from the Bible. In 1 Chronicles 4:10, we read: "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested." The prayer is composed of four parts. First, Jabez asks God to bless him. Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory or increase his responsibility. Third, he prays that God will be with him and stay close. Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm so that he will be free from pain. Prayer of Jabez: Why is it important? The Prayer of Jabez reveals that Jabez understands what many people do not -- there is only one God and He should be the center of our work God wants to bless every life. The celebrant of this mass was Bishop Gregory Studerus, Regional Bishop for Hudson County. Dedicated in 1890 but not fully completed until 1900, Holy Cross is a Gothic-style church where Irish, German, and Italian immigrants helped fund it. As an old cliche, they don't make churches like these anymore. The interior with its cathedral-high ceiling, ornate stained glass windows, and beautifully craved statues were stunning. Mass is still offered in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese here. If you are in the area, visit this beautiful place
