These people are Evil with a capital E. My doctors lie to me about my health for years. When I found out and try to expose them, Metro Plus help them cover it up by altering and concealing medical tests. They have erased all valuable information from my medical records in order for me not to show lawyers that they try to purposely hurt me in order to cover medical malpractice. I was told I was chronically ill and I need to take certain medications in order to live a bit longer. I refused the treatment and decided to live my last days on my own terms. BUT..time went by and I never got sick. I began to ask questions and they got upset. The began to pressure to go on treatment even tho I was not feeling ill or suffering symptoms. They were cruel and relentless.I often I asked 'Are you sure I am ill? Time has passed by and I don't feel ill.' The doctors would look at me straight in the face and say "You are in denial". I would go home after every single visit and cry my heart out thinking I was dying. I was going to leave my girls without a mother. Yet..more than 15 years went by. I was told i was not going to last ten years without treatment.15 had passed and i was still here and better yet still feeling and looking healthy. So..i began to argue my case and ask questions. I requested my medical records. They refuse to send them. I try to get other opinions. I learned that if you try to get a second opinion with the same insurance, they will track you and have the next facility lie to you. They are all connected. When I finally got the medical records I discover, my doctor had diagnosed me as dying. Extremely ill. She wrote on my medical records that 'my condition (that never existed) was increasingly so fast a heart attack was imminent. They were going to take me out to cover the lies. Metroplus consultant and a supervisor told me in front of witnesses that people at my clinic were I was going for care , had done terrible things to me in order to keep their jobs..and then..they change their minds and began to lie again. They were not suppose to tell me that..especially in front of witnesses. Except... I have everything documented. I also don't have a heart condition and the condition they diagnosed me with never existed. They try to poison me with toxic meds and then they were going to trigger a heart attack because I did not listen to them. Metro Plus is helping to cover the lie so people can keep their jobs. I am a Hispanic single mother who is also a public figure in the film, theater and television industry. I feel targeted, assaulted, insulted used and discriminated against. Now.. I am afraid of my life because if they were capable of doing all of that damage that to prevent me from talking, they are capable of so much worst. I am afraid for my children. These situations have affected my job and how and when I step outside. It shouldn't be this way. Doctors and Health Insurances have no right to choose who lives and who dies..especially a perfectly healthy HUMAN being. The hospital also admitted the lies and mistakes but are refusing to put it in writing. They don't respond to my request or my phone calls. My medical records are incomplete and over 40 blood test results have gone missing. I wrote my complaints to the NYC Health Department and the OPMC. Both wrote back refusing to investigate or open a case . I also received a letter by the OPMC telling me to keep my mouth shut. OPMC also told me to stop writing to them because third parties might see the information. I have nothing to hide. If I go missing or you see my face on the news like something radom happen to me... it was not random. Make sure to let people know that I was screaming for help... but the city turned their backs on a single Hispanic mom so dishonorable people with no moral ethics can keep their jobs. Yes...Metroplus Health is number one in the city. They got there by sacrificing innocent people. Mainly Blacks and Hispanics like me. I am not surprised to find Metroplus Health Plan has a 1.5 star rating here on Yelp. This is quite possibly the worst health insurance company in America. I pay more than $1,000 per month for both myself, spouse and son and we've experienced nothing but problems since day one. Firstly, hardly any doctors accept this insurance due to (what I have been told) their poor reimbursement amounts. We had to resort to going to Bellevue Hospital to see our PCP and at the very least usually wait 3 hours per visit. Secondly, I recently had an x-ray on a broken finger and paid $40 co-pay for the consultation and $40 for the x-ray. When I checked my Metroplus claims I noticed the doctor had charged for a wrist, hand and forearm x-ray none of which had occurred. When I called Metroplus about this they said what do you want us to do about it. No wonder people's premiums are so high when doctors are scamming the system and the providers are doing nothing about it. Finally, it took months to approval to use an out-of-network provider and once approved the communication between Metroplus and Beacon Health has been nothing short of abysmal. I have paid over $1,200 towards my idividual deductible yet Beacon only show $500 and therefore I am continually being charged for services which should now be covered. To make maters worse I cannot change to a different insurance provider until the end of the year unless a major event like divorce or changing of jobs occurs. Avoid at all costs. The extra you might pay for a reputable provider like United Health or Oxford is worth it. read more

Great service. The only thing that was a problem for me or to me is that my son was supposed to be enrolled back into MetroPlus health plan. I was told he is not active with MetroPlusHealth he is with another insurance company. Medicaid Choice is the company that assisted in switching my son back over into this plan. MetroPlusHealth had no knowledge of it due to it did not show in the system that he was enrolled into the plan. Not only that my son also had an effective date on the Medicaid Choice notice for when his plan will be active. I was not able to receive a new membership card with his new PCP on it because of the issues stated above this message. It's so frustrating to me. I keep receiving medical bills that I can't pay out of my own pocket for and I can't take him to get a complete eye exam without being enrolled into a plan. Improvement is greatly needed. read more

I wish I had checked ratings of these people before signing up. This is one of the biggest and most costly mistakes of my life. This company is an out and out scam. The few quality medical places that accepted them last year don't accept them this year. Their service is cleverly designed to take YOUR money and take the FEDs MONEY while denying medical care. Today I was decided to get insurance and thanks to Genesis Viteri it was made possible in a short and efficient time. I called this morning and she pick up the phone with kindness and presented herself professionally than ask me, my reason for calling. After I explain my situation, than she quickly made some calls. I was asked some questions and 1 minutes later she told me my insurance card it's going to be send on the way soon and also if I had any questions to call her back or that she will follow up with a call to make sure everything is fine with my insurance. when it comes to treatment, metroplus is the worst company i ever encountered. i'm still healing from a car accident with 5 surgeries just had one in january of this year. every time its time for surgeries and rehabilitations. massive interruptions falsely claiming my doctors authorized it when it was really the other way around. constantly talking to representatives can't get in touch with no supervisors to correct their false reports. this is the type of business this company is bringing to ill people. i'm just trying to get better but this insurance company rather have me suffer and remain disabled read more

Coverage for Bronze plan raised from what I chose as $45 to $118 starting January 1st, 2026. This is such a scam, great thing I asked for help from the government enrolling in FepBlue Focus, better option than this crap starting next year. Only thing is, its difficult to get help from Fidelis scam insurance to cancel plan after January since I mistakenly paid for the new plan plus what I owed this month combined into one, a great way to screw someone over, an 18 mins wait for that crap just to speak to a human. read more

I am a member of Metro Plus Health & anytime I call there is always someone there to take care of & to help me solve any issues. They are always respectful & polite. My care manager (Shivani) is the best ever. No matter when I call her it's like talking to family or a good friend. I would not change Metro for any other health care provider.
