Metros are, in general, one of the larger grocery store chains in Quebec. I would say this is a medium-sized store (compared to some of the larger ones I saw closer to Quebec City. I liked their selection. Immediately upon entering, you were greeted with their best sales/loss-leaders. This included packaged cheese curds, because "The Americans" (like us) come in immediately seeking ingredients to make poutine (and you can buy canned poutine sauce!). The produce and dairy sections were well stocked, even for a Saturday evening. The meat selection was, unfortunately, not so well stocked, but that was they were sold out of certain cuts of beef at a very good sale price. There is also an aisle with a large selection of beer and wine. As a group of us were staying nearby for a week, we were satisfied with how well we could stock our kitchen from this Metro. read more
