Leaving the same review I did on Google:
Would give 0 stars if possible.
First let's talk about the move in. They told us from day 1 that a window was busted in the back room, and it would take just a bit because they had to special order the glass. No problem, we had to move in, so we were prepared for that. The day before we were supposed to move in, we received a text message around 6 PM informing us that everything won't be completed until End of Day on our agreed upon move in date. This was already after the move in date had been pushed back almost a whole week. Naturally, this was very frustrating as I had already called out from work to make sure we could have the whole day to move in. Fast forward to the next day, and there is still so much that isn't completed. The fridge was a mess, nothing had been wiped down, and they didn't bother cleaning out the bathtub that had some sort of mold growing in the corner. This was on a Friday, and without pushback from my roommate and I, they weren't going to send anyone to clean it until the following Monday.
Once the move-in fiasco was finally taken care of, we still had the window that needed fixed. They finally came in to fix it a month later, and guess what? The window was either ordered wrong or delivered wrong, and the people they hired to replace it had to board the hole back up for another few weeks while we waited on the correct window. When they finally returned with the correct window, they installed it but did nothing else with the blinds, window screen, or broken glass that was still outside under the window.
The next summer, less than a year of being there, we received an electric Bill over $300. We placed a work order for the unit, and they said nothing was wrong with it. We would just have to pay the bill and move on, because "it was still working." Because of this, I did not place a work order the following summer when the same issue occurred. And that brings us to this summer. The entire month of July and August, our apartment was reaching 80 degrees, and our most recent electric Bill just came out to !!!!$400!!!!! For a 1000 sqft apartment. We placed multiple work orders to have this fixed, and requested a new unit because this one has clearly reached the end of its life. I personally spoke with the tech that worked on it, and they said the Unit is running but it is not efficient or effective at cooling down the property. When I Spoke with metro about this, they said "the unit is running, so there is nothing we can do about your bill." FANTASTIC RIGHT??? Their 'solution' was to provide us with a standing unit. In case it's been a lot to follow, their solution to cool our apartment and lower our electricity bill was to run more electricity. Smart right? On top of that, there are only 2 windows in the apartment that we could use this Unit on, one in the kitchen, and one in one of the bedrooms. We opted for the bedroom. This did cool down the 1 room, but increased out bill by over $30!!! So we now have an electricity bill over $400 and an apartment that gets to over 80 degrees.
On top of everything else, make sure you pay attention to RentCheck for inspections! They told us it would be quarterly. That held true at first, then it would go to yearly. Then every 6 months. Then a random one in there. Then another 6 months. No consistency on any of it! And their only communication was an email, after all essential communication with Metro was done through text. Failing to complete these inspections was a $75 fee they would tack on to rent. OH AND RENT: they have 0 free options. The cheapest is still a $2.49 transaction fee, and that's after you give them all of your banking information.
In conclusion, Metro SUCKS. If you can find somewhere else, I strongly recommend it. read more
