One "Bip!" and a short walk was way better than getting in some random taxi, that's for sure! As with all of the Santiago Metro stations I utilized this week, Estación Escuela Militar is clean and well it and devoid of litter. It is also very limited as far as handicapped access. Stairs only. There are a number of bus connections at street level. From the name, you can easily deduce that the station is located near the military school and indeed it is right next to it. The station is on Line 1, between Alcantara (towards San Pablo) and Manquehue (towards Los Dominicos).

Conveniently located to get where you need to go and had functioning elevators (big plus for those…read morewith wheels). Just be sure if you take the main plaza lift, you already charged your metro card because the recharge stations are past the gate. Transfers between multiple lines. Seemed fairly clean and spacious, bigger than other stations with a few kiosks for a snack or two.

Clean, well lit, though no handicap accessible features. For Line 1, it is between Universidad Católica (toward San Pablo) and Salvador (toward Los Dominicos). On Line 5, it is between Bellas Artes (toward Plaza de Maipú) and Parque Bustamante (toward Vicente Valdés). There are the usual ATMs, machines for loading value to your Bip! card, turnstiles and a security presence.
